Islander watch company is based in the USA but the islander watches are all made in the same place in china that heimdallr is.

I believe the original was closer to 37 mm diameter. You may be thinking of the reissue? Also, that's more of a waffle strap than it is a tropic strap.

Heimdallr don't get enough love imo. Maybe their homages are a bit too close to the originals, their monster for example? But they're definitely worth it. Great watch and review mate.

I bought the Heimdallr Orange Monster Hommage, actually wanted to get the real thing, a clean used one was $600, good but scratched going from $350 to 400, what they called NEW was over $1,000. So bought in for like $156, I got it and have a few other colorways Monsters, slight differences, but don't see much differences, it's using the same watch calibre. Not a big hommage person. But I made this an exception.
Not all what people think are hommages, similarity, yes, again only some much one can do with a dial, or one with bezel. Some of the watches that begin with R have taken idea's from other brands.

I really like Heimdallr. They're completely open with their products, flat out putting "Homage" in the description. I own 3 including the "SBDX001 Kermit Jubilee Sapphire HI-BEAT 28,800 Homage" with a Sea-Gull movement. Ron from HeimdallrUSA is great to work with.

I bought the frost dial version and after 5days of wearing it, I must say that am very impressed with the build quality and price wise, my mini turtle can't really compare with it at all with ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal LOL the nh35 movement is running at +3.2seconds per day which is very good. My Pagani Design royal Oak has similar accuracy too. Very impressed with how these Chinese companies regulates the movement, assume they do regulate it before assembling the watch LOL

Nice review, great watch, I got the SanMartin 62mas with grey sunburst dial, it is gorgeous.
Their is also a very nice 37mm version done by fifty-four which looks great.

Not having the lumed bezel is a bummer. But, like you said in previous videos, lume is expensive, can't have everything at that price point.

Heimdallr really filling in that gap in your wallet with these homages with materials/specs best bang for your buck. Love my Heimdallr 🍊 Monster V2 dial.

I have one from this brand, a San Martin, and a Merkur....I would consider those the three top Chinese brands...They are all Seiko Homages that I decided not to buy the original because they were either way too expensive or not available… Pretty amazing what you can get for the money. They sit proudly next to my 10+ Seiko’s! Thanks for the review!

Nothing wrong with Heimdallr....better than any islanders I’ve had. I destroyed that mm300 trying to “fix” it though. It didn’t need a fix but I convinced myself it did and screwed it all up. Oh well, spare ETA movement now.
I’d almost guarantee all islanders are Chinese made.

hey is this a newer model heimdallr62mas? I thought that the sapphire on the heimdallr is usually features a strong blue AR coating, which I dislike.

This is a pretty amazing watch. I love everything about this watch except for the indices - I think they are too blocky and inelegant. Which is why I've never purchased a 62mas homage yet. Maybe it looks better in person in the wrist.
