It’s so refreshing to see an athlete make literal billion dollar companies bend to his will. Love or hate Mbappe on the pitch but off the pitch he’s a man to look up to with him basically being in complete control of himself. This extends to music artists with labels being swapped out for clubs. Messi and Ronaldo may have been rare for having 2 players dominate charts for 15 years but Mbappe is the first number 1 player who’s also a number 1 businessman (and his mother too😂)

If he were such a smart businessman, how could he possibly give up the Saudi one year offer? The chart showed how it grossly compared to other sports entities.
He could potentially sit on the PSG bench for that one year. And as the Saudi league would win real legitimacy with his inclusion, I could only imagine an even greater offer would be made for him to extend beyond the one year. All tax-free. Then at the age of 25 or 26, come back to Europe and choose who he would play for. Perhaps even making it easier for the club by accepting a reduced salary, as he really wouldn't need it anymore. His investments would likely surpass anything the chosen club could come up with. Good luck to whichever club he goes to.

Any managers tenure at PSG is interesting, although usually for the wrong reasons.
Mbappé has been in control from the very first second his original PSG contract was signed. He knew what he wanted to do and where he wanted to go. Play for his hometown team and then go to what has always been his dream: Madrid. What I think he didn't expect was for PSG to bend over for him and offer that 2 year loaded contract but he knew damn well to take it and now nothing is going to stop him from collecting every cent he is owed and landing in Madrid in July 2024. Not PSG, not the Premier League and not Saudi Arabia. He is and always been throughout his career dead set on his goals and it is truly commendable how he has always managed to control his narrative. Because being his career it should be him in charge of creating his own narrative
They should bench him for a year. If he is so set on being the best in the world, then the thought of being left behind for a year while the likes of Haland and Vinicius are playing week in, week out and getting better, he will fall behind the curve and basically ruin his own career

If they bench him, they are going to lose more games as the tactics and players are there to suit Mbappé's style of play as he is PSG's main focus (that's also the reason why PSG gave full authorization to Mbappé of his contract). Also, Mbappé needs that mentality of being the best to boost his confidence for bigger clubs like Real Madrid or Man City. It's selfish but it helps him to score aswell. Mbappé is their most marketable player (which helps a bit with his overpriced contract) and no club who knows how to make money, will ever removes him out of the equation unless of his reputation. Besides, PSG still have to pay Mbappé his salary (which is expensive as hell) so it still is bad for PSG.

The sad reality is that this club focuses on its image more than the football (sports washing) I was so envious of Erik ten Hag and Manchester United when they treated ronaldo the way they did. No player is bigger than the club so it is annoying as a supporter seeing a player playing around with your beloved club. Manchester City are perfect when it comes to controlling egos, Cancelo was acting up and boom, he was off to Bayern, and as long as Guardiola is there, he will not play. I wish there was some sort of authority at PSG, the players can negate the coaches authority and go straight to Uncle Nasser and ask for a vacation (Messi to Saudi or Neymar and his countless trips to Brazil)

Has a French PSG fan the club's problem has always been direction even before QSI we had those mid season crisis and very poor job from the owners and seeing my club becoming a circus is really sad but i hope mbappe leaving will wake them up and will allow him to finaly get the trophies he deserved.
PSG feels like someone playing Football Manager who has given themselves billions of euros. They splash money around on flashy signings but seem to ignore team chemistry or how the players will work together on the pitch. I hope the club do manage to put together a great team soon because France as a footballing country should absolutely have clubs winning European trophies. I'm an American who started following soccer (sorry) about a decade ago and the relative lack of success by French clubs in Europe is something that really surprised me to see at first.

It's a weird one for sure. Because I'm also one of the few that don't think it's as cut and dry for Mbappe to Madrid. He didn't go there the first time because of image rights. Madrid takes forty percent of the cut on image rights, Mbappe didn't find that favorable. Hopefully it's a different result this time around, but I wouldn't be surprised if he went to another club that shocks the football world when it's announced.

That's the thing with rich clubs with no history or legacy. All they have is money, and then when it runs out or they realize star players are only interested in them because of the money, they freak out. Makes zero sense as it is the most expected thing in the world.
