We are so lucky there is still internet access in the fantasy desert, so we can get these updates.
It's definitely been a struggle
It's sometimes possible to get a signal via the wyfyvern.
. Magic. Know you have to know the right spells... yes plural, but the uploading happen anywhere. Though the sky wizard are sometimes hard to please even with the correct casting.
Enjoyed seeing how you interpret the Burgschneider kit. Good stuff, and the video production quality is great too.
Going to the house uninvited, looking around, looting everything.
Yep, classic adventurer.
if you are trapped in the desert and you keep finding new pieces to try and show us, please keep hanging out there it seems to be some sort of high loot zone. All jokes aside i really appreciate if this becomes a series as someone just getting into this the exposure of different sites and pieces makes it very easy to pick and chose what i may add to my own kit. I personally think i will for sure be picking up on of those jerkins.
I remember some advice I was given by a friend who was a tailor that always stuck with me. Admittedly he was talking about home made/custom raver clothing in the early 90s, so it may not apply to medieval stuff, but it was that 'same colour, different material; or same material, different colour'; is a good rule of thumb to get 'coherence' in an outfit. (By coherence he meant to get different or even disparate pieces to look like they fit together well.)
6:32 just a tip, I think it may be a good idea to avoid having a dark background (the doorway) when wearing a dark cloak like that because it can make it a bit difficult to pick up on the details of the kit. Aside from that small nitpick I love the video!
11:31 a stray spell has tinted you green it seems.
6:45 if you’re not concerned about shedding water or retaining heat, are toggles a good option for closing the coat/cloak? Toggles are maybe too early medieval but did exist through to the modern period. They’re easier to operate than laces or buckles and definitely easier to make.
I know you’re aiming for a LOTR look and while I can’t think of an example in the films, seems to me that toggles would fit in with the aesthetic. What do you think?
As others here have mentioned, there is no Ranger Kit on their website, the individual parts are with the exception of the gorget, the battle skirt and the shirt, at least a shirt labeled "ranger shirt". There is a shirt that appears to be this shirt you can find under the shirt heading. It also seems they have multiple websites which you can get directed to, some of which do not have this gear and it's kind of hit or miss which one you wind up on. Fairly frustrating experience, although they do offer pretty nice gear. I was getting kind of worried about your channel, glad to see you back.
PS. Now there seems to be a link to the Ranger Kit, but it links to their old ranger gear. I almost think you beat them to actually getting this gear setup on their website. :D
Some fun editing techniques in this one.
I always enjoy your channel. An online friend of mine by the name of Birch Crocker introduced me to the channel, said he went to (i think) high school with you. Either that or it was some sort of camp/event or something. I dont remember anymore but he found your channel and shared it and was bragging on you. "I remember him! I'm glad to see he's doing really well!" Stuff like that.
Love the content, keep it up.
Glad to see another video is out. Certainly my favorite channel at the moment
Thank you very much!
I'm loving the direction these videos are going
Your new house is so awesome it's unreal.
The only equipment I have from Burgschneider at the moment is a bag, but I may have to look at them again some time.
Allies are invaluable for an adventurer, and I like how Burgschneider has your back here, providing you with so much variety of equipment!
Dare I hope that on another day, you might find an invitation to their adventure for this year...?
Anyway, I like that coat-y thing, actually. Overall, I do like the look and feel of their ranger kit. Simple but good cuts.
That brown coat style cloak would look good with brass or silver hook and loop clasps running all the way down, even if you only ever used a few of them. The red base looks good vs the brown base, but the brown base would let accessories stand out more if you were a jewellery/insignia/crest wearing type of adventurer.
I really like how the new kit looks with the red tunic instead of the shirt, but all the variations look great either way.
You seem to have had fun while in Utah . . . I mean that adventuring world. 😉 Hopefully you found a kindly mage/wizard 🧙♂️ to teleport you back home safely to PA.
I enjoy all of Living Anachronism videos 😊
This is so great! Love the sword too! The clam shell nagel is something i really love in it!
The 9:22 - 10:34 outfit makes you looks like a prince. Cool.
Im currently working on a Renaissance musketeer style garb complete with rapier. (Also practicing my best rendition of “you’ve made worms meat of me”)
As well as a second getup with my trusty kilt and fur cloak.
Pesky shoes are still what hold me back
I just received the pieces I ordered . I was thinking of hand embroidering a design on the jerkin. Excellent video.
So good to see an upload again from this channel and that kit looks really great.
An Elf Ranger was touring the remote mountain village in which he lived, when suddenly a man ran out of the house and came up to him.
"Ranger!" the man demanded. "My wife recently gave birth to an Elf! And you are the only Elf anywhere around here. Everyone else is human! Explain yourself!"
"Now, don't judge too harshly," the Ranger answered and pointed towards the boars in the man's front yard. "You see, boars are normally brown, but that one was born white! It's just one of nature's mysteries that you have to accept."
"Fine, I understand, Ranger," the man leaned in and whispered conspiratorially. "I'll stop talking about the Elf child, and you stop talking about the white boar, alright?"
Personally I think your ranger garb is really cool and I love your videos. And I personally don’t shop on burghshnider for the reason that they are very expensive unless you know someone who works there or are a content creator who has a fallowing the website is much way to expensive for me personally. I do like things that they have been I feel my money is better spent elsewhere because I can get more and just as good garb for reasonable. With that being said I am very happy that you are happy with your kit because it is awesome. Keep doing videos on different garb styles I like your videos on different medieval garb.
So, were is this place you can get just as good garb for a better price? If you don't mind sharing... I would like to know!
Ya I‘ll ask the same question as the other guy, where do you get your garbs from? Having roamed and tested through a lot of stuff I come back to the conclusion that burgschneider is the best place to go if you start out with the hobby and that their prices are decent and fair as you don‘t buy anything so rubbish that you‘re ashamed of it like 1 season of doing the hobby later.
I mean if there are better places I wanna be able to recommend them to beginners I‘m introducing into the hobby!
Sweet upgrade!! Those pieces are great!! Oh, I hope you can get out of the desert and get to Ithilien! You'd be a shoo-in!
And yes, belts make everything look better.
The burgschneider kit looks great and you’re right that it’s a blank canvas. SkillTree had a bunch of videos about that last year with fans doing mods to their kit. But I will say I still prefer your old kit because of the story behind it.
Love the versatility shown by you Kramer - nice job. I like your kit at 9:20 with the gorget and battle skirt, but with your actual cloak worn over the top of all, and the red tunic probably looks better than the black anyway, but especially in the desert. Personally, I would think the padded gambeson-gorget should be slightly longer in front going to the sternum, but it still looks good. Although the sleeveless cloak looks "good" - not something I would really go for in any kit.
Looks great, gives me lots of ideas, thanks Burgschneider for making this possible.
Love all of your content but the ones like this where you break down garb are so helpful! Much love!
Great stuff as always mate! Love your ranger kit, it’s a huge inspiration for me too
Hey Kramer love the vids be safe on your travels.
Will you be personalising any of these pieces in future? Levelling up the larp so to speak. 😂. Your custom gambeson is still my favourite piece I think. It looks so well made. Keeping optimistic we can try to make something similar in the future. But Great video, nice to see things tried and tested for fit and appearance. Its hard to tell before buying so we really appreciate this. Keep up the great work. 😊👍
I'm seriously considering the possibility of getting that jerkin in seaweed green to add to my own ranger kit. My first ren faire of the year is coming up in a few days, but I'm going to be volunteering behind-the-scenes at this one, so as far as I know the only garb I'm gonna need this weekend is the official volunteer t-shirt.
Edit: I checked their website, both the D&D collection and the ranger collection, and I couldn't find some of the garments you were showing off in this video. Maybe they sold out quickly.
if you wear it with your own jerkin underneath it kind of gives me an assassins creed feel, which I do like. My outfits and idea's always have something inspired by one of those games....
Im glad to see another video your one of my favorite medieval/fantasy channel's! Im still working on my viking kit bought some new pieces getting ready for our renaissance fair!
Kramer, I need a whole video on trousers in fantasy settings
I like that you are trying something new, great work on this video.
I wish gorgets and bevors got more love in fantasy they all looked so cool especially when paired with a sallet.
Not long bought the Fighter set from Burgschnieder, combined it with the Mercenary Set from Epic Armoury and personally it looks great
Nice additions to your kit and with that new sword you are looking sharp.
Nate
I came back mid-video and I thought you were Aragron for a dew seconds :D
This looks absolutely glorious! I wish I still had my old friends so we can play our favorite d&d campaign.
Yo these edits!🔥🔥🔥🔥
So freaking cool.
I don't think the full ranger kit is on the website yet? I only see pieces of it
I think the second combination with both jerkins looks better.
In your thumbnail, I had difficulties to tell at a glance whether I'm looking at you or at your hero. 😅
I love all your content
Aye, this picture has proven itself worthy of a comment to vex the blasted algorithm. And you, mate, have gained the subscription of a pirate.
Yay, that new kit looks great Kramer! I wonder what other fun treasures this desert will hold 👀 Looking forward to the next video!
(Also, more of a side note but at 11:34 your jerkin changed color to like a greenish yellow? Not sure if it's a visual green screen bug that you were aware of or not but just wanted to put this out there if you didn't already notice it)
Ah, that's some grand auld gear!
So I went to their site and didn't find a ranger set. I found the items by themselves
Now you just need to find a bow, a sling, or a couple rabbit sticks/kylies.
Looks very sharp! I was curious are you going to The Reckoning this year?
Love this kit, I so wish I had an excuse to get some. 😆 Shame that as a wheelchair user I'm stuck as a non-combatant mage so have zero excuse for getting battle gear! 😂 Even though IRL I'm an archer. Hmm. Wonder what folks would think of me turning up to club shoots in ranger gear? 🤔🤭
I liked the Burgschneider tunic with and without your gambeson under it, I think that fawn/red/black combo was great. 😎
Fellow wheelchair user here. Even a noncombatant can still become a target. A bit of protective/battle gear is never amiss. And with the current history bounding and cottage core trends in clothing, incorporating pieces of your kit into your daily wear is becoming easier. Would be great to rock some battle-wear in your archery! Might even start a trend. Have fun.
@@garnetmage4244 that's true. I do sneak my medieval style shirts in now and then. 😄
🎩Hi. The green looked very nice. My favourite.
Perosonally I dont like the black and red, but the canvas and brown look great
Cheeseburger wake up! living anachronism posted another video!
I'm not a fan of the gorget, but everything else looks great :)
@Living Anachronism a few things, one have you ever heard of a horseman's split or and infantry split? Two the jerkin and your leather jerkin are fine together, the two pieces having the same or similar color actually work to pull the pieces together and the leather poking out on the bottom makes for a nice accent or flourish.
Is that a messer or just an arming sword you had on the wall. I was really trying to figure out why that 3d model on the wall looked odd
The later shots show a squared off back to the blade, so its a Kreigsmesser.
You walked into a house and found new gear lying around? Sir, that’s called stealing.
I was the one thousandth like, Huzza!!!
Do these actually come as a “kit” or is that a term just for the sake of your assembling the outfit for this episode? I looked at the site and only see individual items. No bundles or “kits”. Great video as always, though. Thank you so much for all of your great content. I am just a Rennie. I’ve never been to a larp or played D&D but your stuff inspires me greatly for character and outfit ideas for Faire characters.
. If a portal were to just open up in front of me IDK if I would be brave enough to blindly jump in... even if I could see through to the other side.
Kramar Cosplay 😁
Is that Rien's messer, or did you find one of your own?
It is!
Certified lad moment
Look Out, It's a twap!.
Not really digging the battle skirt. I think your personal gamibson works better. The battle skirt looks bulky like it might hinder your movements in battle. As for the desert, light weight clothing made in light colors will help keep you cooler than thicker. Don't do too many layers, you don't want to over heat. Speaking from personal experience as a desert dweller. It's warming up out there so be wary of snakes and scorpions. Someone not too far from me found a baby rattler in their porch. I'm not sure what kind of other venomous creepy crawlies and other creates might be slithering about in your fantasy desert, but be wary when crawling around on those rocks. Make sure you stay hydrated and avoid traveling during the hottest parts of the day. Monsoon season will be here soon so keep you eyes on the sky and your ears open. Cool as the desert storms are to watch, you don't want to be without shelter should a flash flood hit. Good luck on your adventures.
2:04 This is getting outta hand. There is two of them now!

I wanted to buy the ranger gear shown in this video, but your discount code didn't take 10% off of those items. It did take 10% off of the older ranger gear. When I signed up for the newsletter, it gave me a code that took 10% off of my entire order. The two discount codes did not stack. So it seems I cannot support you and order the items that I want for a discount. A very disappointing turn of events.
I'm not really feeling any of the new stuff.
WotC hates you, D&D is garbage, play a different game, don't support companies that hate you.
Very dark house, it is very Hard to see, any difference of the clothes you are promoting
Second comment. Bout to steal your costuming so I can LARP
Do it! Part of the point of me sharing these videos is to give others inspiration
@@LivingAnachronism i was given the right to steal! Let it be known!! Lol
Have you ever thought about going to the weekend warrior experience?
Green screen aside, the colors r all wrong. U talk bout your clothes being green and all there is to see is brown and beige. Maybe green screen inside, actually - did u fiddle with sliders cuz your garb was being keyed out?
