- The Light Dome SE is the perfect lighting modifier for content creation, interviews, and portrait photography. When attached to an Aputure fixture such as the Amaran 100 and 200 COB Series lights, it transforms any hard light into a beautiful soft light.

Yes but how do you disassemble it. There seems to be no directions. It's very tightly in and so is it meant to be taken down
The SE and it’s rods are clutch for travel! If you want something more robust and faster to assemble get the light dome ii. It takes up about 3x as much space for travel. I literally can jam the SE in the gap of a tripod bag WITH the tripod in it
Hello, would you ever consider making a 29 inch light dome ii? Halfway between the light dome ii and light dome mini ii?
yeaaah the dome is awesome so I decide to buy the light first.
Show everyone how hard it is to put the cover on!
I'm scared I'm going to break it.
This shit hard af
In stock at Adorama as of 10 March. Don't know how long they will last.
Will this work on the 60d
how can you change color of the light with CTO/B filters? where do you put it?
So disappointed in the Aputure dome se. I purchased one & one of the rods broke while trying to assemble it. I had it replaced and THE SAME thing happened to the replacement. Never again.
Just about broke my hand trying to get this together. But works well. Will not be taking it apart unless I really have to
Is it possible to use a gel with these light domes? How?
What are your distributors in LA?? Samys doesn't have and couldn't give me an eta
i have brooked 3 rods !!! unbelievable.
Hi! I can us with the GODOX SL 100?
1:56 “that makes setting it up smooth”. LMAO. GOOD ONE 💀
No filter adapter?
Hello, can you please do a scene on how to light a cinema scene, from the king of New York. Never seeing a lighting video like that. Since your best, you should have that. Don't you think?
thank u
When are you guys shipping to europe? I ordered a 200x at release and i still don't have it. I want the Light Dome SE aswell but the availability of your products doesn't instill confidence.
Ik weet niet waar je hebt besteld maar bij kameraexpress komen ze eind maart binnen. Het komt omdat aputure niet heel gelegen in europa levert helaas
rumours is about a new batch of the Amaran series in may.
Ordered the SE from B&H on March 12th, wondering when it will ship? Any news would be appreciated. Thank you.
Tbh prolly months
@@Neekss That would suck. I went ahead canceled my order and bought the Light Dome II on Ebay.
Any news when LD SE will be available in Europe, Poland?
Is it also not available for you? Here in netherlands when i click on buy it links me tho “sign up to newsletter”
Hey, I've been searching and it's not clear to me - Is there a way to add gels to this system with an Amaran 100d?
no
Why not make it easy to assemble like the light dome 2? With the rods installed instead of having to fight with those rodes to get them in place. It's a pain to install those rodes and you know it. And BTW aputure your diffusion material got ripped after the second use. You should double thread it
Se is budget friendly and smaller. Pay a few more extra dollars for it pal.
@@MediaBuccLA The lightdome mini ii has the easy assembly and is "budget friendly and smaller", so having this pain-in-the-a$$ assembly is not about Aputure trying to lower the cost. It is just bad design. But they seem to have realised this and newer models have the easy assembly.
@@MediaBuccLA But why would they put their name on a piece of garbage? I returned mine 10 minutes after finishing the setup struggle. Makes no sense to kill their good name by selling junk at any price. Loving my Amaran but will do so with a generic soft box.
waiting for XR or SE PRO MAX
How did you know?!
I'll camp here until they release it
It’s already sold out 😔
Can I use the amaran 60d and 60x with this dome?
Yes, with the included Bowens Mount adaptor
The setup process seems rather long, I will stick with Light Dome II
Can anyone recommend a light stand for the Amaran 200d and the light dome SE pleaseeee
Our baby stands are always a solid option for our Amarans, make sure to use appropriate sandbags! www.adorama.com/apubabystand.html
@@aputurelighting Thank you !
Then, what's the difference between Light Dome SE and the Version 1 of Light Dome?
Fiberglass rods. Included Grid and Magic Cloth
@@PHILMMedia Don't the original light dome version I also include grid? It's just a small revision then I suppose.
So sad its already sold out :(
can 60x be compatible with this?
Yes! For the LS 60x you would use the supplied bowens mount adapter.
My bad purchase so far from Aputure. Installation is hard
still no justice for colour gels
I owned one of these for approximately two hours. Aperture makes the absolute best lights but somehow also makes the absolute worst soft boxes. Did somebody actually design that rod system? It was just a royal pain in the rear to put together. I could not imagine showing up on set and having to spend a half hour trying to get these rods into the mount. Upgrading to a generic that pops up like an umbrella…at half the price.
I feel your pain. This is sooo bad. Can you recommend an alternative you bought that doesn't have this stupid rod system!
@@marklupton8982 I bought one branded “Glow” and I love it. Pops up in seconds and does the exact same thing the Aputure does. It’s available on Amazon.
Does it fit the 600d?
It fits but is not recommended. Check out the Light Dome II
@@aputurelighting thank you!
"either an 85cm OR a 33 inch". I laughed out loud at this 🤣
Release date?
Today!
@@brandonvle i can't find it in france... but i will buy it as soon as possible !
Brandon Lee R.I.P.
Dont buy this, super hard to assemble
Installation is hard. What a waste
You actually don’t show setting it up though . Still completely clueless
Literally took less than 5 minutes to assemble it. Put the rods with red dots in first, doing the opposites, then the others. It's pretty much bullet proof if you follow the instructions...
The rode broke easily…
Broke 3 🤪
SPELLING MISTAKE @ 3:01

"Simply insert the rods into the ring" oh, thanks 😒
Snapped two rods setting it up the first time - absolute garbage.
You will break it if you try to do them one by one. If you balance it out by doing the opposites, it's bullet proof.
@@EGDmitry Then it should include instructions stating so.
This shit is totally unusable, one try and direct return.
First time assembling it... 2 rods broke... don't buy this
