- Full-Time Reaction to Celtic 3-0 St. Mirren from Celtic Park as the Hoops took a 4-point lead at the top of the table.
A sluggish first half performance was put to bed by a vast improvement in the 2nd half and goals from Reo Hatate, Kyogo & Adam Idah saw the Celts run out convincing and deserved winners.
Rangers' 3-2 defeat at Ross County on Sunday gives Celtic a huge shot in the arm as we enter the post-split fixtures.

James Forrest should be used more for his experience. When games are must wins he offers more than other wingers.

Totally agree regarding Forrest, he is a better player now than yang and palma will ever be, he also has the experience, this talk from Rodgers that he hasn’t got the energy anymore is pish ! He is 32 not 37.. play jamesy the last 7 games we do the double, Yang is nowhere near the level unfortunately and has zero natural goal scoring ability, which we have always had on our wings

CCV is the only player, we absolutely cannot do without. Hope to god, nobody comes for him in the summer, must be rated at 15-20 million, compared to some of the diddies playing in the EPL.
He is indispensable.
CCV is world class. Khun is a effective player,Oreilly is great and Hatate different class.

We need a focal point & physical presence up top when we play against a back 5 who glued to the 18 yard box
I fear Rodgers obligatory 4-3-3 won’t (once again) work against the likes of Killie and Hearts. We can have all the middle-third dominance we want, but playing through the middle won’t cut it. They are both the best in the league at the low block, and have the right counter-attack balance.
He won’t of course, but it surely has to be 3-5-2 or play a covert 3-5-1-1 with Idah as the false 9. We need his physical presence to roughing-up their CB’s and pull them out of position, thus creating the space for Kyogo to run in behind. AJ and Taylor need to overlap like mad, a la, Angeball! The intensity of the press has to be on point with the first half at Ibrox, hopefully Maeda is back in that regard.

Kenny like you I’ve said it during the week ….we need our 2 full backs and our 2 wingers on fire to win this league but Today we got 50% Johnston and Kuhn ….the other 2 Yang and Taylor just give me a pain . Also Scales may not be as polished as some but still more reliable than “Rocky” . The amount of times we lost possession because Yang got turned over shameful , James may have lost his speed but not his brain. 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪

A would've started idah to lightweight of a forward line, Forrest done more in his cameo than yang done all day
Drop Kyogo at your peril. Idah is fine as a late sub but he's not a starter for me. Agree about Forrest though

Yang doesn’t seem to handle changes in conditions, team members and/or opponents.
Yang is just not bright enough to read the game. He can't be relied upon to play well enough if we are under pressure.

--> Unpopular Opinion: BR has made some questionable personnel decisions over the season; however, he deserves a lot of credit for overcoming a season that hasn't had the best XI play together more than three matches in a row.
--> I loved GG, but Idah really looks like he really wants to play for Celtic. Kyogo needs someone pushing behind him, and Celtic need for that player to offer a different skill set than Kyogo offers. (As an aside: the move to MLS really worked out well for GG.)

I do appreciate Paul and his colleagues match input as far superior to other podcasts. However, Kenny made two statements I'm in disagreement with. I too like Nawrocki as he is much better using the ball and does not seem to panic. His 'lack of speed' comment was based on or determined by what evidence? There were two significant sprints whereby Maik beat the center-forward over 30 yards with another leading to him playing the ball out of bounds. You cannot state 'lack of speed' unless you have data on his 10yard; 20yard; 30yard and 40-yard sprints metrics. He passed the eye test in the first half by what I have alluded too. Iwata was not responsible for Hatate's slow start. There is a transition in football if you are a team that plays like Celtic as opposed to Rangers who prefer to go back to front (long ball). We use 'build up' and the ball should go center back to fullback to midfield or wing player, etc. The issue was Taylor. On gaining possession he continually played negative/reverse passes. Why does he not look for and prior to passing where Hatate is on the football pitch? Taylor has no 'vision' in possession and his passing is very negative. Hatate scored a great goal, this was true class. However, in the first half he struggled too with conditions and where he was receiving the ball e.g. near the left touchline with limited options.
Taylor has no vision? Must be watching a different game. How many assists does have this season? His delivery from the wide areas is very often, first class. You can’t produce that if you have zero vision.
I think it was because st mirren had a player go off in the first half with a head knock so that was a concussion substitution for them which gave us an extra sub too

Yang was poor today, probably only Taylor was worse. Thought Rocki was solid. Standouts were Hatate, CCV. AJ.

Palma needs told to stop being so wasteful. Engage brain. He can fire in a great goal occasionally but mostly he's disappointed. He may not be fully fit after injury but it's no use giving possession away or hitting row Z so often.

The win was all that mattered, puts a bit of pressure on morality fc tomorrow. These last few league games will require nerve and experience, not the games for Yang in my opinion. The manager has to find another player for that position in this run in.
I’d start Forrest next time out.

Yangs looked better on the right taylor wants to take 3 touches before passing it to the winger, no coincedence most of our attacks come from the right johnstone is alot better full back than taylor who thinks hes a cm. Yang looks like hes got talent but still raw we need quality wingers in the summer. Bad days when maeda is the first winger on the team sheet most of the season. Kuhn and palma should be starting for me. ccv and hatate are class. For me our week points are lb,cb and lw and should be priority in the summer alon with a new keeper.

Dreadful first half, I don’t think we had a shot on target. Yang was absolutely dreadful, he kept putting his hand up to say don’t give me the ball. Second half much better, but we should have scored more.

I watched Carlton vickers before game being the 100% leader in warm up the way he spoke to players motivating them etc and way he conducted himself then his performance on pitch he was by far away best player on park he’s van dijk all over again 10/10 player man of match one player I think you give a free ride is Taylor this guy is absolutely horrendous he must struggle to walk up a staircase he’s abysmal we need to get rid him out the club not just drop get rid of him along with Yang Tomoki Oh only keep kyogo maeda hattati kung is another absolute waste of a jersey
Iwata is useless, no movement, no opening up passing lanes and little on the ball. Reliant on wide players because not enough from central midfield. CCv is the difference.
