I’m an American renting in Tanzania and the owner and neighbors are complaining about a group of Nigerian men living together in the compound. Every night there is a lot of drinking and different local girls every night. They promise the girls money for coming then afterwards the girls are complaining and knocking on their door demanding money. In East Africa there are stories about Nigerian misbehavior. And you would wonder why do they carry such misbehavior everywhere they go. Not all Nigerians do this but too many of them do.

As Jamaican American, married to a Nigerian, we decided to build our dream property in Africa, my Nigerian wife chose Ghana over Nigeria and I'm not surprised. We purchased 5 acres of land in Aburi mountains and another 10 acres closed to cape Coast for the poultry farm the rest of the land will grow maize to feed our birds. Thank you so much for sharing

We’re different after all!

Lily, i rented my apartment to a Nigerian and before I see the number of people living in the apartment have increase to seven and when I asked him he said they are his family members who have come for a visit . Later fight broke out among them and from there i gathered that they are not family but rather they contributed for the apartment, since then police upon police in my apartment until I ejected them. Since then I swear not to rent it to a Nigerian again. The apartment is in Accra and i am a Ghanaian. Thanks

We have two apartments rented to two individual Nigerians, one is living with his wife and they recently celebrated their daughter’s first birthday, they are good people, the other tenants used Ghanaian woman as their mother to rent the apartment, oh my Gosh different people coming and going and other tenants were calling us to complaining because none of the family members lived there at the time, we asked our mom to moved from village to the upstairs apartment and my mom to started bringing complaining. At first we didn’t know they were Nigerians yahoo boys until we investigated, we asked them to bring their mom who came to rent for them but they couldn’t and we asked them to move. When they moved then we realized that they have made illegal electric connection to the apartment and owing about ghc 15,000 to ghc 20,000 to the electricity company. These are some the problems some Ghanaians don’t want to some of the Nigerians. Is not only in Ghana, UK, Italy and some other countries.

I lived with a nigerian in a compound house in Dome, Accra some tears ago. Most of the tenants were single guys. We share the cleaning of the bathroom and toilet. This nigerian guy will never clean the bathroom. There were times that there were no water, so the entire members will decide not to use the WC but rather to use the public wc until there is water available. This nigerian guy will break open the door to the toilet and ease himself daily till the bowl was full and will not flush. It was there i advised myself never to entertain any Nigerian in my house. It's unfortunate it is happening this way, but one may ask why other nationals from Africa don't face this problem but nigerians.

I live in the UK, Manchester to be specific. I know this very good apartment that sometimes allowed students to rent even though mostly workers. Nigerians will rent and will not pay rent. They will keep giving the rental manager stories with the promise of clearing arrears soon. Then they just move out of the apartment secretly without paying. The apartment do not rent to students again and will require two guarantors or a six-month upfront payment to allow black workers to rent.

In the early 2000 when a Nigerian and a Ghanaian was going to rent at that time they preferred the Nigerian then the Ghanaian but because of how they leave your property and also if one person came to rent, they would end up about 20 people living there

The landlord across my apartment rented out a hall and chamber to a Nigerian, later he brought three guys and again two so they became six. They sleep in the day and go out in the night and always being chased by the police. When the landlord confronted him , he became annoyed and walked out of the landlord. One of his friends in the room asked him of the matter and he said " don't mind this idiot" In Ghana the word "idiot" is an insult especially when referring to an adult. He has vowed to eject them.
