Happy Tuesday from Virginia! I grow in raised beds and containers. I'm adding more beans once I harvest my garlic. Also putting in scalloped squash, 2 types of pumpkin, a couple of melons plus watermelon. So far, my sweet peas have done well, my peppers are doing well in my polytunnel, and my tomatoes, bush beans, and crookneck squash are off to a good start! And my onions are looking good!

I got a lot planted from seed over Memorial Day around the stuff still going from my winter/spring garden. But I realized I have no room for cucumbers this year. I might get creative in my grocery row garden down my the fruit trees where I am putting all of my melons, cantaloupes and pumpkins. That just might be the move. I have small chicken wire fences around the trees to protect them from rabbits and what not since they are young trees. I'm getting deer netting up this weekend down there so hopefully that will keep the deer away. My potatoes down in the GRG are finally growing. The rhubarb and onions down there are looking good. I'm in Western WA.

    Good morning.
Im getting winter squash/pumpkins and peppers in, running out of time on them.
Then tomatoes, corn, melons and cukes.
I can't believe it's getting close to start fall crops pretty soon.
Been planting seeds by hand it's just to muddy for the seeder.
4 days of rain forecasted for this week.

Jeff from East Tennessee. Planting some late tomatoes and peppers. Okra again is behind. Cool cloudy May with 7 1/2 of rain has just put a stop to planting okra. I got it in trays and it looks good. Okra likes hot hot weather!! Dry weather.
My garden just needs some dry sunny days. Hot days with all day sun!!

My zone 4 garden, in Vermont is way behind. We typically try and get everything in on Memorial Day but I was too busy for the garden. That means I am planting my tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and squash this weekend. I'm also going to give a short season okra a try.
I'll be planting flowers like marigolds, sun flowers, zinnias, etc in the near future too.

Use the rain!!! 😊 I'm with you on using the rain.I'm loving it so far, but now that I'm gonna send this comment.Watch it rain for 2 weeks😅 Won't be able to cut the grass.😢 live right at the North/south Carolina border. Campobello But yeah, man so far. The rain's been working perfect with my schedule.🙏🤞 There's nothing like a handful of compost at the base of each plant right before it rains.

I have almost every space filled. Slugs keep eating my cuke seedlings so I’ll sow some in cups and transplant. When the snow peas dry up by this weekend I’ll save seed and then replace with melon. I notoriously fail every fall with starting seeds too late, hot July and august fools me every time. In zone 7 MD.

I have some open spaces from bolted lettuces and brassicas so I'm stuffing them with different bean varieties, soybean, a few last chance direct-sowed cucumbers and squash and flowers like nasturtium, chamomile, borage, alyssum, calendula. I also have some herb starts to interplant. The hardest thing now is thinking ahead to fall crops... where are those going to go??

As an alternative to using liquid fertilizers, you can sprinkle any balanced slow release fertilizer onto the top of the soil, and water it in. It will slowly break down over a couple of months feeting the roots. If your plants need a boost, top dress as described, and give watering with diluted water saluable fertilizer. I usually mix mine at half strength. One watering is all that is needed to feed the plants until the granular fertilizer begins breaking down.

Hello from Alabama! Durung today's garden rounds, I noticed damage to my Katrina cucumber leave. It looks more from leaf miners, than funtgi. I could not find any live bugs, dead ones too. I sprayed them with Immunox, just in case. I'll treat them with Spinosad on the evening of thr 8th. I picked a few cucumbers. There are a lot more ripening, and on the Beit Alpha cucumbers too. They are producing like mad to keep dup with the competitor. I have a couple watermelons growing, one the size of a tennis ball. My garlic is ready to be pulled up. The soil needs a day or two to dry out before doing it. I trimmed off a few yellowing leaves from my lempn squash, and harvested four lemon squash and a crookneck squash. Hidden unde the foilage of my Thronburn's Terra-Cotta tomato, is a huge tomato, probably close to three pounds. On an adjoining plant is a tomato turning orangish (terra-cotta). It will be full ripe in a day or two. I Nhave potatoes chitting for a July 2nd planting date. I harvested peppers too, Hungarian Yellow Wax, Sweet Banana, and Lipstick. I havew mmany more varieties with ripening peppers. I'm almost positive that I have the seeds needed for my fall garden. I'll start planning it out soon. In July, I'll sow seeds for Brunswick cabbage, In August, Cauliflower, Brocolli, tuenips, carrots, and Napa Cabbage, and in September, Boc Choy, Malage Radish, parsnips, and Yellow Heart Winter Choy. October is planting time for garlic in my area. Beyong that, I haven't made my plans yet. It may be enough? I always strive to keep a part of my garden producing year-round, and will be over wintering Swis Chard. I may plant a few additional plants this fall to keep the garden producing. I want more chard, and less mustard next year.

@@chompers11 Immunox is an organic funguscide, not poison. In my area, regular spraying of Spinosad, or BT is needed to fend off pickleworm infestations. It also works for cut worms and horn worms. The pickleworms will desteroy 100 percent of cucumber and summer squash crops. The moth comes into the area in early May and stays until October. Spinosad and BT are organic solutions, but indescriminate with killing, so care must be taken to protect benificial insects. I spray in the evenings for this reason.

So damaged leaves don't lead to a diminished harvest... It's not poisoning the garden

@@sandybottomhomestead Yeah, I'm not going to take advice from fools that have never gardened in their lives, and had to deal with pest and disease issues. My comments are from experience, and a lot of research. I love watching your videos, the problems you experience, the solutions you impliment, and the steps you take to make your garden better and more productive. It inspires me to keep doing what I do to make my garden better and more productive. I also like to experiment with new food varieties. My garden started in 2019 with a few pots, then two small raised beds, and now has sixteen raised beds, an eight foot long cattle pannel tunnel, a 10" x 20 " in-ground herb garden, three GreenStalks, and an orchard with eleven fruit trees. It spans about one acre. My goal for next year is to not grow it any larger, make a couple small improvements, and I am thinking about getting a small chicken coop, and seven laying hens.
