Might want to check some blogs and other tube video-ers. Nomadic fanatic is one along with wonderhussey who travel yet a lot of grounds and attractions are are closed or limited usage....like the rig and what type of slide in is it?????

With the videos you have not posted yet of the flips, I would suggest waiting until you are on your journey to post them. That way you could still appeal to your old audience while building up the new one. It may also be wise to pre-record some videos or do some flips in the meantime and then post those during your traveling journeys for the same reason.

You have gotta get that thing drilled and sprayed with rp342 wax or some sort of oil to protect that truck from rust for years to come, that's really clean!
It'd be worth getting it rustproofed, try and find somewhere that really knows how to do it (they'll deal with Japanese cars and land rovers, which rot for a pastime)
I agree he could have this thing as long as he wants if he keeps it rust free

A good tip for preventing or slowing the wheel well rust: before each winter remove the taillights and pressure wash the inside where the well meets the bedside then use fluid film. Been doing this to my 2007.5 1500 since new and still not a spec of rust 👍
Spray the heck outs it With chainsaw bar oil and take it down a dusty road,

That's a clean truck for a 2009 and the mileage.....its been nowhere! Being a Brit I'm looking forward to seeing the real America from the drivers seat rather than the Hollywood version we get to see.

The key to keeping a truck Rust Free.... Regular weekly washes including undercarriage. Use a wash MIT to break the surface tension of the grim so it'll wash off. You can use the foam brush but it doesn't get everything. Thays why you should follow up with the wash mit.
Car detailer here, yea washing the truck frequently will prevent rusting. Don’t use brushes because they scratch paint and can cause premature clear coat failure.
In the case of my truck, the rockers and bedsides rusted out from the inside where you cant access.
@@85square Some people drill holes in their rocker panels and use Fluid Film, oil-based rust prevention to prevent rust then put a rubber seal over the hole they made. It's seemed to work well in the salt belt.
Yes a quick going over of the whole truck with a wash mitt, just before rinsing, would have been great. 10 minutes of extra work could have made it awesome. A microfiber wash cloth could have been used as long as it’s rarely used, due to scratching, but in Vermont for once a year, it’ll be better than a gentle wash mitt.
Just having no rust is a winner and worth the investment.
Now, make it rust PROOF! Get Rust prevention oil treatments!!!

Hey! I’ve owned a bunch of that generation of Gmc and Chevys and one tip I would give you for rust prevention is in the rear wheel wells pull the rubber plugs out and blow all the dirt out with compressed air then hose them with fluid film and do the same on the rockers below the door and even in the drain holes in the doors. It has worked amazingly well on the trucks I’ve owned!!

Awesome news and awesome truck man. Just picked up a clean 04 duramax myself from an older guy who babied it. Came with a sweet bed cap. Plan on converting the bed to something I can use for short camping trips with my girlfriend and pup. Been watching your channel for a while so I’ll be sticking around to watch your new content. I used to travel with a cabover camper like that. I had an auxiliary fuel tank because I hated having to stop so often for gas. It turned out to be a good investment.

Looks like you scored and got a great deal. I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 2500hd with the 6.0. I absolutely love it. It is a beast.
A spray car wash will never get all the dirt off - it will leave a film at the very least. I'll use the DIY car wash sometimes but every 2nd or 3rd wash I have to do it by hand or I get that same film.
I really enjoy your videos for a number of reasons, first, I too like getting a deal on a car/truck and fixing it up. I admire your abilities to fix things and also to negotiate. Lastly we lived in Quechee and Woodstock for 20 years so I like noticing Norwick, Leb, etc. Enjoy your trip, as you head south you may want to connect with Rich Rebuilds another CZcamsr who is in Salem MA. He too has a great channel and is very entertaining.

2009 is not exactly a new truck, $10,000 is a good deal, you need something reliable, you can’t drive rusted hoopties forever.
It's new to him. If I were to pay $10,000 For a vehicle I'd call it new. Obviously Wouldn't call it *Brand* new.
$10k is a GREAT deal. Most of these are closer to $20k than $10k at this mileage. Probably the cheapest one in the country....

Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, you're the one who has to deal with it and having a solid non project truck that is reliable is a good thing.. You can use it to tow future projects. Good investment.
Yo I got a similar BT FM transmitter for my gfs 2004 altima because shes been driving my car (2012 optima) and always hooks her phone up.
Definitely cool with the USA tour you're going to take. See all you can, take all the time you need. You're quite fortunate to be able to do something like that - maybe some of us are going to be jealous. :) Good for you, though.
