It is nice knowing there are dealers that will sell a truck for about $3,000 more than they paid for. I went to a dealership once that had a used 2020 F 450 limited that had 20k miles and they were asking $105,000 because they paid $100,000 for it. I offered $70,000 and told them they are they scum of the earth for asking a little more than they paid for it. I should be allowed to dictate the price. Although, when it comes to my trade in, I want full blown retail. I don't think dealerships should be allowed to make any money. I hope Ford goes direct to consumer so I can get screwed without ever seeing them in person.

The dealer I deal with actually have it as two different positions. The salesperson mainly just deals with the financing, test drives, and a few other things. Then they have delivery specialists who really research the vehicles, their features, and will give you a rundown on how to use said features and answer the questions.
But for this salesman wearing both of those hats, he did great. I think the only thing he kind of got wrong was the drive modes part (which mainly just controls throttle response and transmission shift points).

Hey Stan. I spent years in the auto industry. When a dealer advertises a low ball truck, they call it a 'loss leader'. It is usually a bare-bones version in an undesirable color and options package. They use it to generate contact and upsell the customer to a more expensive one that has the features that most customers are looking for. When the dealer refuses to sell that particular truck for the advertised price, that is false- advertising. If they try to switch you to a differed truck that they will sell you for that price, that's bait and switch.

I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. We’re on the bottom of the ad it says we only have one. He bought it. Then he waited for the next weeks ad. Then he bought that caravan. Then he waited I think two months before another ad showed up one at this price. And he bought that one. It was comical because he got him at the price that was in the paper. All stripped. Basic dodge caravans. Are used for shuttling consumers around. We would dump them at 200,000 miles. But it’s a good lesson to learn. One of which is patience

You're right. And in order to do that legally they have to actually have that vehicle to sell. They can try and upsell all they want, and the customer can have expectations that it has options it doesnt but if they advertise that vehicle at that price it should be available. Sounds like this guy is a bit mistaken. The dealer website lists MSRP. That isn't offering it for sale at MSRP. It's just a fact about the vehicle. No different than stating the color or what engine it has. And MSRP is just like it stands for suggested. Good dealers wanting markup will just list contact us to avoid what this guy went through. And who calls a customer back and continues on with their "position" when the person obviously thought they could buy at MSRP and you told them no. That's just the epitome of what's wrong with the car business in situations like we've had the last couple of years

I know of one instance, back in the early eighties, of a fleet order for 17 4WD vehicles going through a local dealer and 18 free-wheel hubs for them. The franchise/dealership owner (most tight-fisted, penny wise- pound foolish* idiot you'll ever meet) questioned this and told the person who placed the order that he'd have to pay retail, not 'trade' price, for the last set of hubs because it was for his personal vehicle... Order immediately cancelled, ALL parts and work following that from that point went through a dealership an a nearby town - besides the initial order, this was well into 6 figures, a year, even 30+ years ago, as they worked on other vehicles as well.
Possibly the biggest "you work commision?" was back in the seventies when a scruffy guy was in a nearby agricultural dealer (IH?) asking about tractors and other machinery. Head salesman basically snubbed him and a junior salesman took over - turned out he was buying for one of the biggest farms in the area, he ended up buying multiple machines and I understand it was over a million bucks, all up, which was a LOT of money back then! Got vague recollection that he may have bought a house on the commision (certainly should have covered a decent deposit), but may be mistaken?

Colorado mountain driving puts vehicles to the test with high altitude and steep inclines. We have had other makes and always had problems with transmissions and rear diffrentials.

Also with the traction control, you can turn it off like he showed you by clicking it once, but after you do that, hold the button down till your dash says “advance trac off” and it shuts it down even more so your tired can spin more without it kicking on. Clicking it once only limits the slippage for a small % but advance trac off holding it till it says it cuts it to spin at a higher % before kicking in. There is also a sport trac off by double or triple clicking the button either before or after doing the previous ones. Not sure what it does but it is another option that you have on top of the other ones.

Found your channel a week ago and have been watching a few videos. Was hoping to see some wide out reviews and comparisons to the vplows. Ran a regular wide out years ago on an old diesel and loved the versatility. Now running the wideout xl on a 1 ton 6.2 gasser and love it. In larger lots I typically support tractors or loaders but small to medium lots I go solo and do quite well with it. I've also run a vplow on a small tractor for driveways and occasionally some bigger lots when needed but really wish it had a wide out.

I watched more of his videos a year or two ago but haven't really watched any up until a few days ago. What you're describing I would think he would have on here as he seems to have a very large inventory of different types of plows and he's done various comparison videos over the years. I don't know if maybe he just doesn't have it labeled the way it would make it easy to find but I would be surprised if he didn't have it on his channel.
At the very least, I'm betting that someone has to have done a comparison on CZcams somewhere so if you do a search for it, I'll bet you can find it. YT has just about everything.

Wow. I can't believe you enjoy that 6.4 assuming it's the diesel and not the V-10? Those 6.4 trucks have had so many issues with emissions and turbos and so many other things that most people can't get rid of them. I see so many of them for sale with blown motors or an injector or two out. I was a Ford tech at a few dealerships before these came out so I never worked on them but I've done the research and read so much about them as well as watched so many videos to know that I wouldn't want to own one. I would feel like I was driving a ticking time bomb.
If it's been working out for you, that's great. But I would suggest to sell it before you have something happen to it because if something does happen, it's gonna be hard to sell. Especially if the potential buyer knows anything about the 6.4

I live in Missouri, drove to Michigan in 2006 to buy a Mustang GT convertible due to the same deal. That was when Ford was clearing the lots of excess inventory, and I ended up with a 72 month finance deal, 0%, and even rolled the sales taxes into the loan as well. Folks at other dealers were playing games with prices, or just refusing to sell inventory listed units, so I just kept moving outward on the map to the next dealer. Finally found one near Detroit who had the unit sitting on the lot, was actually selling it, and would take that price, so I told them I'd drive up and sign the paperwork Monday. Hauled up there with my trailer, they had us take it for a test drive before we loaded it up. Wonderful service. Although my wife was upset after driving it that I loaded it on the trailer. She wanted to drive it home! Some dealers are just A+ on service.

The different drive modes just change transmission shift points and throttle sensitivity. The rear locker can be used in 2h 4h or 4l. Its only purpose is to lock one rear wheel to the other rear wheel for added traction. 4L reduces the gearing to add more "torque",ie, helping pull a heavier load up a slippery grade.

Stan: Nice Truck! Congratulations and sounds like a great dealership. With the commercial plowing you do, I would go with the Western plow system.
I custom ordered a 2022 F350 Lariet Powerstroke 6.7 back in Dec 2021. They quoted me the MSRP at $71K. Pandemic delayed the build so I got it in Aug 2022 (not fun but understandable). With the delay the MSRP went up by $5k on the sticker but because they issued the quote before the build, the dealership stuck with the quoted price. Very happy with my Dealership: Fox Ford of Cadillac (Northern Mich - lots of snow).
FYI: The 4WD-L does not lock the diff automatically, it just locks the 4WD system in and drops the gear ratio for added torque - you still need to engage the diff lock with the knob (read the manual). Just a note: there are some recent software updates released on these 2022's so make sure they have updated the system. I have owned these with the locking diff since 2014 and only had to use it once (deep sand). Let us know how you like it with the Snow plow on it.

I contacted multiple dealerships and I couldn't get anyone to call me back. All I wanted to know was if they still had it available or maybe some more pictures. You would think they'd want to make a sale.it seems that salesmen out there have just gotten lazy.

No, they are just greedy. And anyone who walks in a dealership and think they are walking out victorious is in for a treat. But as the salemen are greedy, the purchaser is dumb. 90k for a truck is rediculous. But hey, just like pro sports, keep paying these bloated prices make these idiots rich at your expense. What makes these vehicles any better than say 5 years before, that requires that price. But no power seats????

Stanley, I have the exact same truck but loaded with the lariat package with leather and all the bells and whistles. I LOVE IT! I’m glad I switched to this truck over the diesels. I average about 16-17mpg, and put 400-700 miles on a week, plus snow plowing.
I paired my truck to a Western MVP3, because I love western plows, and also because the front mount stays tucked up tight to the bumper. The boss mounts hang so low id always worry about hitting it on things. Besides it’s ugly. But the truck has been pushing snow here in WI and doing an awesome job!

I was a car salesman around 10yrs ago and I sold between 20-30 cars a month here in south Louisiana a small town and I can say that maybe 1 or 2 of those sales a month we're at MSRP and that was usually a business that didn't care because of tax write offs or just a bad credit customer that didn't care and just want to buy a car that day. What these dealerships are doing now is killing their repeat customer that comes back in 2 years because now they can't their car will be so upside down on value vs money owed they will be stuck with it.

Stan, I just put a BOSS 180Z on my super duty with the 5th wheel system. Incredible how easy the attachment is with that system. Make sure to utilize upfitter switches 5 and 6 for anything you want powered at all times. 1-4 are only powered with the ignition. Traction control off will still avoid swaying and sliding. Hold the button down longer for more fun.

This has been a particular problem in the auto dealerships the last few years with the crazy demand and shortages of vehicles. Ford specifically has had trouble with this and is finding ways to "fine" dealerships who do these massive mark ups. They tried selling the little mavericks at 50% over msrp.
