Been subscribed awhile and I gotta say, these reviews are my favorite. They feel as though they're the most thorough and fair. If you guys score a game 80-90 I know it's a really good game and worth putting on my list. Same goes for super low scores, though I don't think you've had too many of those. Good review overall but I really guess the soundtrack is up to personal preferences, because I and many reviewers online found it to be amazing 🤩 ! I just can’t stop listening to it now!
I agree. Its freaking epic. I've always adored the soundtracks of these games
the soundtrack is the best thing about those 2 games. Otherwise story is average with only 2-3 chapters that are great.

I have played all the other ace attorney series in the 3DS. What a way to continue that tradition by playing this game on the switch. Definitely a must buy for me.

Never been my genre but I love they do something different and that the series is still going or getting more recognition with ports. Great to see the game doing well.
I don't think I've ever seen you guys give a 20/20 for value before (although admittedly I haven't seen all of your reviews). And I must agree, this looks like a lot of fun!

I got into the series with Apollo Justice. Really hoping they end up remastering the last three in the series. I picked this up with Stories 2, and I'm really liking it so far.
I just beat the first case and it was really well done definitely going to play more 😁 time to pick up the other games now.
Only the first case? My my, i beat all of the cases from the first and half of the cases from the 2nd the year was 2020 it was november.

I've only played Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Miles Edgeworth on a DS Emulator. It was so fun!

I think it's time for me to finally get into the series! As a great fan of the Professor Layton games the Ace Attorney Series has always been on my radar, but I think with this and the other collection I'm good to go on the Switch.
(I would've also loved to get the special physical edition that had both collections, but that seemed to have sold out pretty fast 😅)

I’ve been playing the AA games for years, this one goes into the wishlist until finishing them.
Had to avert my eyes a bit with his video, as I bought the game yesterday and have completed the first two cases, but some of the footage in the video spoiled a bunch of upcoming characters and locations, as well as a death I would argue would have been a major reveal later on. Not too happy about that but what can you do.
As for the game itself, I've been having a great time with it. I played the Ace Attorney Trilogy on switch last year and that was a lot of fun, though the problems with that collection are present in this one: sometimes the game can gete very long winded. You might be posed a question, or a situation where you must present your answer. Sometimes you will have this figured out minutes ago and are just sitting, reading through dialogue just waiting for the chance to put forward the evidence. The game likes to give everyone present multiple lines of dialogue and have them repeat themselves when really the amount of text could easily get cut almost in half sometimes and still get the point across.
I would say as well sometimes the game will ask you to point out a specific object in a scene as evidence, and while you might look at an object and decide that's correct, what the game wants you to do is further inspect that object, THEN present it. I had this issue early on when a picture in a frame was the answer, yet the game wanted me to zoom in on this already clear picture and then present it, as opposed to simply presenting it.
Otherwise, I'm having a great time. For the price the amount of game you get is a lot.

I would argue that this game has the best ost throughout all the ace attorney series, 14/20 is quite low
Totally agree, love the music in this game, from the catchier whimsical tunes that I can't get out of my head to the serious tense and emotional ones. The sound effects are great too especially for long-time Capcom fans.

Not a spoiler but there's a character in there called Jezaille Brett which I think is a nod to the British Sherlock Holmes actor Jeremy Brett. At least I hope it is as I found seeing that quite sweet of them.

3 and a half hour tutorial is what's putting me.off recommending this.
My partner would love this game, but I know she'd have no patience for that 😅
I'll say that it doesn't feel like a tutorial. The case is quite simple but still has plenty of twists and it definitely felt important to the overall story. It introduces the basics of the courtroom sections but I never felt like it was taking the time to explain really basic things.
I'd say 40% of the tutorial was a fun case, 40% was character set up and introductions, and the remaining 10% was telling you how to use the menus.
I'm up to the fourth chapter and the characters from the tutorial are still probably my favourite. It's a highlight of the game if anything
Yeah, the first case is probably the worst one of the duology. The characters are amazing, but the pacing is wayyy too slow for such a simple mystery.

Another series that I never got into and it just doesn't hold my interest enough. I think I would rather go and play something like LA Noire to get my investigative fix. Thanks for the stellar review though.

It's funny I finished season 2 of Netflix Lupin last night and they use the same Herlock Sholmes in that and my reaction was similar confusion
So all 10 chapters are murder cases? That's kind of disappointing.
my only beef with this game is how slow the text is, like if I hold down B it should write the entire sentence without pause like the OG games, and agree with the music, the OG games have much better music.
The option to skip text is still there, just needs to be activated in the options menu.
I hate the jury system so much, not only do i have to press witnesses now i have to press juries...
Also why do the mcs have the same personalities every game, always the dumbfounded righteous guy who wins every case with luck...
now if capcom would add ace attorney into monster hunter, that'd be great 👍
Your opinion of the OST is one of the worst video game takes I've ever heard. The soundtrack is absolutely incredible and you don't even think it lives up to the 8 bit sound scape of the first Phoenix game

You wouldn't miss out on too much, but there is an element of gameplay. All it takes is for you to miss one clue and you could end up making a bunch of wrong guesses. That would risk a game over. At the very least, you have to pay more attention if you're the one playing. The game succeeds in making you feel smart!
That totally ruins the point of the game where you try figure out stuff by yourself
