Guide to EASILY SOLO Tanking the ToMM! x10 Annihilate Stacks - Paladin Tanking - Mod 19 Neverwinter

- Welcome to the Tower of the Mad Mage. This challenging Trial is still very viable for farming loot and gaining the best Lionheart weapons. However with more and more people wishing to run it, and the Dps requirement to be above a lot of players, people have decided to bring solo tanks in the group, since it is very possible to do so and thus you can have 7 dps in the group.
In this video I do my best to show how I solo tank on my Paladin, what I use, when and why. Hopefully this can be helpful for those of your wishing to learn solo tanking on your Paladin. Even as tanking on another class, this can most likely help you out with positioning ect.
With Mod 19 came 3 new weapon sets, but Solo tanking ToMM is still be a very valuable skill, as the Lionheart weapons are still be one of the best weapon sets, the next being from the new Trial Zariel, which I highly recommend getting the Lionheart weapons first before attempting. If you prove yourself to be a worthy solo tank, there are many groups you'd be able to join and hopefully help succeed in conquering Halaster. - Hry

Nice guide, I use exactly the same powers as you, with the switch to absolution and binding oath at 2 or 3 stacks.
Except I use thirst as main arti, warpainted for debuff (used TV when I didn't have any debuff mount), bronzewood for ally support and the Vistani set, which is basically another BW of 5% that can actually be procced by at-wills. I reach about 1m 67k HP which is plenty enough to solo tank Tomm (can improve HP further). My setup overall debuffs a lot more and thus makes the run faster for everyone, if the group is good I get 5 stacks at most, if it's slower I get 9.
If I may add my 2 cents of tips, I see you kept your dvinity pretty much always filled at max. you could smite a whole lot more throughout the run, for extra aggro and damage. and this is the power I use to proc BW (aggro and debuff main reason to have it slotted), but since you use vorpal, using smite becomes less significant indeed for the run.
In p2, I keep binding oath and reslot an attack power instead of absolution.
Good to see the build I use on a yt guide video, it confirms what I'm doing is the right thing to do, and likely it can not be improved further.

you are most welcome :) For companions you want in the slots, Offense 16k Hp:
- Cave Bear
- Crystal Golem
- Kingfisher Intern
- Rimefire Golem
- Star of Simril
- Zhentarim Warlock
Defense 16k Hp:
- Harper Bard
- Iron Golem
- Moonshae Druid
- Vanguard of the Citadel
Utility 32k Hp:
- Energon
And for mount you want Stalwart, and Prosperity and Fortitude insignias.

Ideally you run with friends and guild members, people you can trust that know what they are doing.
Even though youve explained this wonderfully. I always have a hard time understanding. I find it very hard and not fair to switch powers mid battle. Othereise they shouldve added more buttons to be able to activate so in trying to figure out if its possible to do this without switching powers. Second question im having is when do you press tab. Almost never . Never ever do i press tab in anything. Not even TIC wich is the latest one im doing. I know its bad behavior but ive always been able to do it. Because i keep my divinity for my smite to get the aggro quick to compensate with lacking damage as in concentrating too much on HP. 840k atm. 2 books. Halaster and erratic globe. I chose only to get 2 books as im certain a lot of people will go with envenomed as active. Wich means if had it it wont do good to activate it as many others would use it so i keep halaster. Im losing 7k hp but it is what it is. So question is now. What if i went with absolution. Smite. And vow of enmity. To keep aggro. It would be kinda dangerous though for to die... if i dont use tab. So if i knew when to use it. Do u use it only when u go with artifact. Do u use it on a certain attack he does. Excluding the fireball. All this makes me think it would be better to go with a second tank and see how its done
You may notice I nearly always use tab for each annihilate. I end it immediately after I'm hi by the ball. It's very helpful as it gives you a buff of +25% to your max shield and 10% damage resistance when you block with tab, plus a small heal.
If you insist on solo tanking without switching powers, use Smite, Absolution and Binding Oath.
the tab is great if you know you are about to take a big hit.
tho you dont need to run two hard taunts. the dps wont deal 10% of their damage quick enough to merit it. also swapping powers mid combat gas its drawbacks. you are fully voulnerable whilst swapping powers and they also go on cooldown and you cant swap a power on cooldown so imo its fair enough as a mid battle adjustment. but i would definitely not suggest solo tanking this as your first attempts. one mistake and you die and for a tank that starts a death loop lol

I suggest try find a class you just like the playstyle of. As for tips, you'll have to be more specific, you can try watching my episode 1 of my free to play series.
Since you are using greater everforst gear and chitters fangs the combat rating drops a lot...what companion equipment are you using? im finding myself hard to cap using the defense ring LOL i can do it but need a second offensive ring but that means my hp will drop and i dont want that
and..would you use those for zariel challenge?
no, I just stack Hp for Zariel Master, it's so much easier to hold her aggro, cause of focused retaliation.
Is there any specific reason to using the banner instead of say pally sigil or even the gond hammer?
none other than to just help protect the party. Ideally someone would have the Paladin Sigil, yeah. If you have the Gond, yeah it's decent, especially with it's unique 45s cooldown

basically troll mobs & out-surviving a tank...

another question, a friend of mine suggest me Horn of Valhalla as a main artifact to solo tank tomm. any thoughts?
@@raffaelescoz4086 you wont need that as a tank horn of valhalla is cool if you lose aggro but its the equivillant of one extra smite per minute. i believe the artifact being used is sigil of the pally which is used as a dmg reduction primarily (caps at 15% i think) but also has a small heal over time which is nice.
@@raffaelescoz4086 I'm using the Champions Banner, it doesn't really matter what you use. The banner decreases damage dealt to you and your allies by 5% for 30s, while in the banners area.
Fighter guide please
basically the same, use Iron Warrior and Anvil, and that stamina regen one or shield throw
"he can deal up to 1M damage per hit, which can be pretty nasty". Lol...i didn't even know you could survive 1M damage hits
I have 1.2 million Hp when fully buffed up. Consider my shield Hp is 75% of my max when uing my divine palisade, I then am at 2.1 million effective Hp. So yeah, blocking 1 mill damage ain't an issue. Throw in the fact that I meant 1 mill base damage hit, I can then mitigate this damage by 50% by capping my defense (80k).
Man, that dps warlock needed to stop casting Blades of the Vanquished Army on you 🙃😒
Hehe, no it's actually too that he does, gives me 5% more damage resistance.
@@Aragon- I think it’s still bugged 🤔 so warlock dps bova is lowering your crit avoidance if it’s still bugged. If it was a warlock healer casting bova on you, it would have been fine :)
