For me watching the Leafs for the past 45 yrs the 92-93-94 team to be the most exciting group ever (and I include this year's crop too). They had it all- skill, grit, defense, toughness, goaltending, coaching and by far these 2 were the heart and soul of the team....which I believe is lacking now
Dougie was the quintessential Maple Leaf of ALL time - he bled blue-n-white - greatest Cup run was in 1992-93 season - they did not win it that year losing out to a certain Gretzky - but it really didn't matter - it still FELT like they were Champions - I have NEVER been as proud of a Leafs team before or since ... Clarkie was the crank that turned the engine and for his size he fought behemoths like Probert more than once and did not give up much - both of these guys were highly skilled players - the new Leafs team has the potential to top them but that team was GREAT bar none and always will be - I still recall jumping out of my seat up and down celebrating an OT winner by little Nikolai Borchevsky against Tim Chevy of the vaunted Detroit Dead Things ... were they screwed over against LA? - its kinda like in boxing - if you are fighting against the Champ a tie is NOT going to go your way - you need a KO and damn they came closer than anyone thought they would - a shame but even in defeat they were still the GREATEST Leafs team I have ever watched play
That 1993 Leafs team was fun to watch and one of the most gritty and talented teams I've ever seen. I still get my Gilmour and Clark jerseys out and wear em . If I ever get to play some hockey, I will definitely model my game after Gilmours.... with Wendel Clark's shot...lol.
How times have changed were all older now when LEAF FAN'S went threw those playoffs with that team in yr of 93 still say Wendel Clark's GREATEST CAPTAIN EVER! EVER!!! Still surprised they didn't break any windows 😂
The leafs should have these two in the dressing room throughout their playoff run. Gilmore and Clark ,two of my favorite players of all time. Maybe some of their mojo will give the boys in Blue the extra boost they need to hoist the Stanley Cup in 2018! Wouldn't that be a national celebration for the blue Maple Leaf? Stand tall boys, the playoffs are coming to town!
Boy, do I miss watching these two play!
Me too

The Fraser comment at the end cracked me up!
Quaddingsous ,,,that sure is nice to see him joke about this now ,proof that old wounds do heal eventually.
James Marcino
I don't think any of us Leaf fans will ever totally get over it.
@@theliftexpert Ask any Leaf fan. That wound will never heal!
Two of the most natural hockey players of all time. Loved watching them. They obviously loved the game.
My two favourite leafs. Clark was a beast.

Truth about Keery
Todays laffs could use Wendle and Dougie
Dougie should drink more milk. That was his secret to success.
pea soup
After that commercial my dad called him "cowlegs" for the next 2 years...
Not one guy on the current Leafs that could carry these guys jockstrap. 2 of my all time favs.
John gatti You need to settle down. The Big 3 could definitely be some of the greatest Leafs ever when it's all said and done.
You may be right but when it comes to heart...not even close.
