@@toxicated3622 ... not use for Mathews to destroy anything because the Leafs will never win anything. This strange team who had a lot of talented players didn't won nothing in almost 100 years ... Nothing to destroy there .. lol ..
Entertaining peak, yes, but quality hockey, no. Goaltending, except a handful, was just not good. Slower pace is not good. Speed is good. Monster fights? Very good. Plus you were probably just a kid or a young man, so it was just more exciting.
@@robbisson6506 He is one of the main reasons I started to play hockey again! I played young 5-9yrs stopped. Then I remember watching Clark play with TO when I was 13 or 14 and it lit a fire under me. Started again and never stopped. Even when I had an accident when I was 22 left me paralyzed waist down. I'm still playing hockey. Will never stop :)
Wendel Clark, in my mind and observation, is an absolute legend! As a teenager, I have always remembered that he never ever disapointed! He always delivered. Thank Mr. Clark, I have never hesitated in informing those in Finland of your inspirational play!
Trading away Wendel Was the beginning of the end of my Leaf and hockey fandom. The hiring of Mike Murphy was the end. You cannot trade away one of, if not thee most beloved Toronto athlete ever under any circumstances.
I am a HABS fan. And would have loved seeing him in a Habs jersey. All heart, a true team player and solid as a rock. Went to his restaurant in my home town. It nothing special but went there because his name is on the door.
Big Valley Jamboree, Craven 1993. I and my cousin were partying in the wee hours of the morning. The sun was up and we were partying and we noticed a fellow with a cowboy hat standing alone and we recognized him as Wendel Clarke but nobody believed us. That morning a short, beautiful little doe-eyed beauty from Esterhazy gave me the time of day, but I let her slip through my fingers.
Fortune to have had Wendel in a Leaf’s uniform. Other cities have had better and more famous players BUT no Leafs player EVER showed more heart and determination. He could do it ALL…!!!
Met the man and was even in his home no lie. Wendell was and is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Heart of Gold but with fists of Bricks legitimately his hands are fucking huge!! No wonder he fucked up Mcsorley
My favorite LEAF player! Could do it all; fight, hit, and score. GO LEAFS GO in 2023-2024 season. Add some big, tough and skilled players! That is the recipe to going far in the playoffs.
I'm a NYR fan since /79. But Wendell was a man's man - especially when he was struggling as an Islander and his back was obviously hobbling him. I was still so impressed by him. He had "it".
You are & always will be my favorite player of any sport for all time. Matthews is coming in 2nd & I think he does justice compared to you with the way hockey is played today. Missed you every time you were in Halifax for hockey day in Canada & that stuck me with those Habs autos. GGGRRR LOL take care & stay safe Jim
Bobby Hull introduced me to Wendel Clark at Bobbys private cattle auction ,plus a picture with him , then Bobby then Rene Robert just north of Belleville Ont , good guy 18 years ago or so ago , his fave beer , Coors Light...True
they don't make them like Clark anymore, if he played today he would layout entire teams of course the whistle would be blown every 5 seconds cause you cant even hit in todays game , thats how far away the games gotten from its roots.
Hey Wendel My wife got you to sign a Picture to "the Ultimate champ" It was to do with me and the brother in-law. Nothing to do with fighting. It was at Vandolders Windows up north. Thank you it ticked the brother in-law off. My all time favorite player.
I was sad when the Nordiques traded away Sundin but absolutely loved Clark's time in Quebec. Great trade on but sides. Quebec got what it needed and so did Toronto. Was sad when Colorado traded him for Claude Lemieux.
Wendel is in my top 2 ML players of all-time....not that anyone cares whut I might tink p.s. ....Sittler will be my #1 until someone scores a cup-winner.
My brother was a Habs fan and we were watching the World Jrs and he was teasing me that the only guy we had for the Leafs there was Clark. I didn't pay attention to the draft back then so I didn't know him. As soon as Wendel got on the ice things happened and he scare the crap out of those Euro teams. My brother was getting sick of me because every time Wendel was on the ice I kept saying "Holy Shyt, we got this guy" With the battles going on between Quebec and Montreal those first few years of the 90s I read some stories from the Hockey News that gave me the impression Quebec and Toronto were going to trade. I was sure Quebec wanted Potvin because of Montreal's Roy stoning them. I thought the GM for Toronto was a fool because for sure Quebec wanted Potvin but the Leafs wouldn't part with him so they took the Wendel trade. I was sure that Potvin could have got them Sakic and Forsberg (they weren't famous yet) but instead got Sundin, a player I wasn't that familiar with. When you have Sakic and Forsberg it doesn't hurt so bad being fleeced by the Leafs who I think thought Wendel was done. I enjoyed Wendel game no matter how bad the Leafs were at times.
… any chance for Wendel Clark to consider being The Lesfs GM! We will require one after getting kicked out of the first round playoffs this season. … just a thought!
Such a gentleman, but boy he would punish you if he could. I definitely miss the style of hockey, a lot of things nowadays I’m not happy with but I’m old-school I met him a few times
When you condone violence that's what you get. No fighting in hockey is what is needed. Please don't do this. Please don't do it. Pray everyday the lords prayer and may God bless you and your family and friends and their families and friends to the infinite
Clark is the foundation of what a complete hockey player is all about. He could do it all.
He was -130 for his career. A third liner with 0 all-star appearances.
Typical underrated hockey player. Humble, confident and supremely fierce.
My favorite of all players even today by far.
My absolutely favorite Leaf . They don't make them like that anymore
the epitome how how the game is.played
I'm 63 years old & a huge Leafs fan. When someone asks me about my favorite Leaf ever, I always say Wendel...🇨🇦🏒
You sir are not the only one,he was Ace.
Wendel Clark. Thanks for the memories. 17
Wendel Clark is the best player to ever wear a Maple Leafs uniform.
Definitely! 💯
... and best NHL fighter.
until matthews destorys his records as a leaf
@@toxicated3622 ... not use for Mathews to destroy anything because the Leafs will never win anything. This strange team who had a lot of talented players didn't won nothing in almost 100 years ... Nothing to destroy there .. lol ..
Well the leafs have been garbage for 50 years so that’s Not saying much.
Not a Leafs' fan at all, but how can you not love Clark. Complete hockey player who would have your back. Played hard.
When hockey was at it's peak; slower pace, beautiful goals, tough checking and monster fights.
And house league tendies
Entertaining peak, yes, but quality hockey, no. Goaltending, except a handful, was just not good. Slower pace is not good. Speed is good. Monster fights? Very good.

agreed
Wendel Clark # 17 ....All Heart , Grit & Soul
I would add a like but you are at 17
Wendel Clark was a remarkable player, truly a Leafs' and NHL legend. He was explosive, had heart, and was always fun to watch.
When he hit someone in a boring slow game it woke up both teams the crowd and all of CANADA Coast to Coast Nobody could do that then or now.
Man, I miss watching him play.
I litterally stopped watching hockey all together when he retired.

I'm from Chile, I came to Canada in 1987 . I start loving hockey watching Wendel!🇨🇱🇨🇦
Dude was tough as nails. Those playoff games vs L.A was one of the best series I’ve ever watched.
All Canadian 🇨🇦! And even voted for Justin Trudeau! Hero! 👍
Tough, smart and loyal to his team and country. Captain Canada 🇨🇦!❤️

An all-around good guy.

How? The Leafs won that trade hands down. Clark was washed up at that point and they got Sundin who went on to have a great career with Toronto.
He was great......hard nose....tuff....and could score....
Wendel Clark , simply the best that i would love to have met. We will not forget his contributions. 😊
#17 all heart 👊👊👍 Captain Crunch!
I am 42 and Clark is still my absolute hero. He gave me an unforgettable childhood! Thank you sir, hands down the best leaf ever.
Great Canadian heart ❤ Wendel has it 🍁🌲
A real canadian sasqhemwash.
I am a HABS fan. And would have loved seeing him in a Habs jersey. All heart, a true team player and solid as a rock. Went to his restaurant in my home town. It nothing special but went there because his name is on the door.
Cant imagine how bad it would have been to watch without him in the 80's. My favorite Leaf
hes the epitome of how the game should be played
One of my fave players of all time... (and I'm a Wings fan) Cheers, Wendel!
I really respected Wendel Clark. Noras Division hockey was the best back in the day.
Big Valley Jamboree, Craven 1993. I and my cousin were partying in the wee hours of the morning. The good old days. Love this guy and all he stood for on the ice. I miss those days, I really do. Greatest Leaf all time right there.
Fortune to have had Wendel in a Leaf’s uniform. Other cities have had better and more famous players BUT no Leafs player EVER showed more heart and determination. He could do it ALL…!!!
I loved the way Wendel played. Showed up every game and played with grit and all heart. Favorite leaf of all time.
Totally down to earth friendly guy too.
Last half of his career ,i couldnt stomach watching him float up and down his wing playing no contact hockey
flyers fan, but he is my all time favorite player!!!!
Franchise winger heard he got traded on radio, class act Leafs.
Always loved to watch Clark play in the 90’s. It was a great time to be a leaf’s fan
Favourite player growing up he never took a night off. Always had to look over your shoulder for #17 getting you in his sights.
Great player and the best Leaf in modern history; arguably of course. Great guy too, a Leaf legend!
Met the man and was even in his home no lie. Wendell was and is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Heart of Gold but with fists of Bricks legitimately his hands are fucking huge!! No wonder he fucked up Mcsorley
I'm Wendel's biggest fan, and I've got to say that's a very well produced video!
My favorite LEAF player! Could do it all; fight, hit, and score. GO LEAFS GO in 2023-2024 season. Add some big, tough and skilled players! That is the recipe to going far in the playoffs.
You will always be my favorite I watched you since day one on the leafs I have 3 jerseys with your name on them 17 forever
Wendal is loved...great palyer much love Wendal
I'm a NYR fan since /79. But Wendell was a man's man - especially when he was struggling as an Islander and his back was obviously hobbling him. I was still so impressed by him. He had "it".
He put that body through hell, must have some awful stiff mornings, what heart.
deflects to great moments, guys a hall of famer
HHOF is oblivious to the power grinder types. Good numbers trumps everything else a la Bernie Federko. It's too bad....

Still my favourite hockey player of all time; I have a WC Sask. Blades player card, traded a Stevie Y. card for it in 95.
How could anyone not like#17...or want him on Their Team.
Never a Leaf fan but sure loved watching
Clark play. Any team would would have been a lot better with him!!
Bobby Hull introduced me to Wendel Clark at Bobbys private cattle auction ,plus a picture with him , then Bobby then Rene Robert just north of Belleville Ont , good guy 18 years ago or so ago , his fave beer , Coors Light...True
He had more heart, grit, will and desire than this entire current Leaf team.
A great Leaf Captain...loved his game.
they don't make them like Clark anymore, if he played today he would layout entire teams of course the whistle would be blown every 5 seconds cause you cant even hit in todays game , thats how far away the games gotten from its roots.
Clark was an awesome all-round player...
As a Habs fan, I would loved to have seenhim in a Habs jersey.
Loved watching Wendell, Best Leaf ever.
Great player. Always looked 15 years older than his true age.
One look at that picture of Wendel and realize, F#@k I am getting old
Jesus, he looked like he was 30 when he got drafted
In Québec city we really love him
The greatest.
Bob Probert 👊👊👊

As a nord fan at the time. I loved Clark but his body was beginning to break down and seeing Sundin go back hurt. Leafs absolutely won this trade.
Love it got to go and clean my statue everyday... You a good hockey player I was watching you growing up with all the other good hockey players.
All heart. People may say I'm crazy but if I had a choice between having Gretzky on my team or Wendel, I'd choose Wendel every time.
Go Leafs Go RIP Bobby Probert my best friends team was Detroit/Probert me Toronto/Wendell always a good weekend
Game isn’t the same without him and his era.
Class act.
He's a beauty, for sure 👍
I gotta polish my statue because the birds are crapping on me.
Lol
Best quote ever

Heart sole and tuff...
Clark was a beast when he played for the leafs!!!...
These tough guys of NHL seem to always be great fuckin guys.
Wendel is god level
I have a Wendel Clark Leaf’s jersey and a picture with him signing it while I’m wearing it and with Ken Dryden in the background!
He was in that brawl in the World Juniors against Russia.
Wow he is old. Have not seen him since the 90s
A warrior
Clark was great, don't forget about dave keon, Johnny bauer,
Keon is the Leaf GOAT
I bought a jersey-style jacket & added numbers & name to make it a home jersey!!
i always wanted to see him play more and fight less...cuz he was an offensive force..just my opinion...no offence Wendel!
… any chance for Wendel Clark to consider being The Lesfs GM!
We will require one after getting kicked out of the first round playoffs this season.
… just a thought!
Like to have seen wendel clerk Dougie Gilmore and Bobby Clark on one line....the crash-bang-slash.....line
BOB PROBERT missed alot of time playing hockey in Camada
Canada 🇨🇦
Cpt. Crunch 💪💪
