This series is fascinating! It’s so interesting to see the process of generating material and then using it intuitively. I watched some of your other composition lectures and I wonder if you ever read Wouorinen’s Simple Composition and checked out his (Babbitt’s really) time-point system and nesting method. I always liked it but thought it wrote the whole piece for you. However, now I’m seeing that you make choices as the composer afterwards to break out of the systematic approach. Looking forward to the next video!
