Gonna be honest, the backrooms were awesome when they started out and genuinely horrifying to read about but now it's like every entry on the wiki has "This level is the most dangerous level in the backrooms" written on it because people have just made it another "mine is the strongest" competition.
The most terrifying thing about backroom is its geometry - it just makes you feel so vulnerable no matter where you try to hide, at certain places you feel secure yet simultaneously exposed. You'll feel endless loneliness and desperation, to find someone or something, only to find a malicious creature that wants to harm you. The contrast from loneliness to panic would just magnify the terror.

Exit methods for the backrooms are very inconsistent. It can range from just randomly waking up outside the backrooms, to having to find an exit, to just waiting in your starting area to leave
My guess as to why armored personnel aren't in the backrooms is because of the ability to escape if you hit the walls fast enough. Tho tbf, I'm sure the military would gladly risk bullet rain over the entire world if it meant taking down the monsters lmao
In the off chance Pyro sees this and he plans on looking over the Backrooms by Kane again, there are unlisted videos that you can access through links in the descriptions of Kane's videos.
Just a reminder that in the full stream, someone jokingly asked if he’s watching five nights at Freddy jump loves, he didn’t know what that was and searched it up on stream. Funniest shit ever
god the way the Backrooms is built up as a Black-Mesa style research investigation is so so fucking cool. this has to be my absolute favourite take on the Backrooms ever i cant get enough of how natural all the dialogue feels as well, they're not pointing out the obvious like "oh wow a house down here how wacky" its just shocked silence because how the fuck would you even react to that
The original backrooms image + text will always be the greatest rendition but the whole Level 0 1 2 thing is a close second. Not a huge fan of the sort of SCP thing they're doing now where you can like name your own level and stuff :(
Yeah it's gotten a bit ridiculous imo. Still cool in its own right, but tacking these wacky levels onto the Backrooms lore seems a bit out of place. Not gonna clown on it though, there's some creative stuff on the wiki. But the OG backrooms is unmatched in its implication and concept.
I also don’t like the idea of “entities” and “monsters” in the backrooms. It takes away from the original concept of the backrooms (as in going mad in complete isolation in a seemingly infinite space). It’s supposed to be completely psychological but now it’s just another horror concept with “ooh spooky scary monster”
@@bulbobaggins There was always an implication of something else (an entity) being in there since the first creepypasta post, though it wasn't the forefront of the horror. In that respect, I agree with you. Filling the place with a bunch of different levels and monsters has watered it down significantly.
@@Adrionic I wouldn't say that's the case, an unknown place you enter by pure chance is one thing but not knowing whether or not you're truly alone adds to the terror. There's not much terror there when you know you're alone and you're just going to die of thirst and hunger. I mean, anybody could've come up with that concept. Or at least something like it.
@@OrionDawn15 I definitely agree, I think the idea of something roaming around without your full knowledge is quite a bit scarier. But from an outside perspective, being given all the information that the wiki gives kind of takes the mystery out of it. But that's purely from the standpoint of knowing of all these monsters' existence. You're absolutely right that being thrown in there randomly, not knowing if something else is in there with you, definitely adds to the horror.
I think this is one of the few times where Stranger Things is a very fair comparison to make, considering this came out nearly 6 years(?) After the show started to air, and it revolves around scientists in Hazmat suits from the 80s setting up a high tech underground secret portal to another already-existing dangerous dimension filled with lanky creepy monsters to explore that we know very little about. The two share VERY similar base concepts.
it still fascinates me how this place actually looks like something I'd see in my dreams, like the bizarre architecture and corridors, which I've never seen before but still get a weird nostalgic feeling from
People started adding different levels like it's a damn video game and explaining any miniscule dedail that could be explained, killing any mystic in the process
@@amoongoos so by that logic, the scp foundation is also not mysterious either. People like to expound on cool concepts, if you don’t enjoy it then don’t watch it, but the backrooms is in a good spot and the creativity surrounding it is only making it better and more fleshed out.
I like how there's a few low quality textures in the series, but it still makes perfect sense because the backrooms are supposed to be like a glitch in a video game
One thing I don't understand with niall is him being scared of spooky youtube videos but still somehow being able to play the entire cry of Fear game. 💀
The backrooms have been ruined it used to be a empty space where you're left alone and that was scary but now people add monsters which takes away from the fear of being alone
According to the wiki, there are some "levels" with exits in them but a lot of them are the equivalent of "If you win the lottery, you'll win the chance to do a coinflip to either escape or die the most horrifying death"
Every article about a level has a list of the levels you can get to from there, and it took me a total of 2 hours across a week to pick the right rooms to finally reach a level with an exit from the backrooms in it, and that was after countless times of picking levels that would have been a guaranteed death for any human being, based on the description. So it's pretty safe to say that the odds that any human being could actually escape something like the backrooms are slim to none.
@@JoNarDLoLz Not really, it just boils down to dying of thirst and hunger in a place you've entered by pure chance. And I find the monsters don't drag it down much. Is what I would've said if they weren't actual stickmen.
Personally the OG concept was pretty lame too, literally anyone else could've come up with that. You find yourself in an unknown place, there by pure chance. There's really nothing you can do but die of thirst and hunger because... there's literally nothing. The thought of being alone is scary for some, but for me the thought of not *knowing* whether or not you're truly alone in such a place is scarier.
@@OrionDawn15 kanes take literally adds monster with purpose for world building so it's not a collection of videos with empty piss yellow office spaces. thats one of the things I think kane doesn't get proper credit for.
@@gavinojames1 Yeah, while I don't think everything would need a monster, or at least a monster in the traditional sense the anomalies in Kane's videos adds to the Backrooms. Besides, it really shouldn't matter if he did or didn't add monsters into these videos as it was hinted in the OG backrooms that you weren't alone in there. So people here complaining that these internet kids be ruining the backrooms with pointless monsters when the original post itself hinted at the fact there were monsters in there, something people complaining about seem to forget.
I like his insight on horrifying topics, like he isn't making it less scary, but he's making it more watchable becuz him and I are in the same-ish headspace.
(LONG) In the off chance that you read this, Pyro, the first video you watched in the series with the stick figure monster is actually chronologically the last (so far). It takes place years after the events of all other videos. So the researchers were unaware of the monster's presence until the Pitfalls video. The room that was built in Backrooms - Report is the same room that the guy who got separated from the group in Informational Video ended up in. He went through some sort of time skip into the future by entering a null zone, which was the spot where you heard all those people talking when he got separated from the group. There are dates for every video in the description that help piece the timeline together, and sort of confirm time skips based on the events/places seen in the videos. The time skip is, as of now, just a theory (a game theory.... sorry), but it seems to be confirmed based on the observation room having already been fully built by the end of Informational Video, when we only see it in the process of being built by the end of Backrooms - Report. Also, I'm sure you've noticed that the people who come into contact with the "fungus" in the Backrooms start coughing. Seems like they become infected with something, which is most likely why the alarm went off in the observation room at the end of Informational Video. There's a theory that the monster is actually a fungal form of people who have gotten lost in there and came into contact with the fungus. Either that, or the monster is able to mimic the voice of its victims to lure others into its grasp. Both of these theories have yet to be confirmed in any capacity, though. Sorry for writing half a damn novel in the comments, but I'm super invested in this series and wanted to share what I've learned!

Go to the SCP universe and I physically cannot count how many that are better than the original and far surpass it in creativity, originality and just pure fear. That's the key difference between the 2.

Still praying for Pyro to see the Monument Mythos at some point
He already has, it's on his twitch vods
3:28 the dude doesn't make it out, if you look closely when he turns around you can see the monster has him when the camera falls down that chute thing
How could pyro not know about the backrooms, full of such interesting characters like ‘Londoner’ and ‘Rick and morty intellectuals’
and Quandale Dingle
@@prokrinds1039 Don't forget Talking Ben
2:25 It looks like the average NHS hospital, there's just a barren empty middle bit. Maybe one swing in the middle.
The Backrooms series is already cool so far and there are so many entries on what is there
Exit methods for the backrooms are very inconsistent. It can range from just randomly waking up outside the backrooms, to having to find an exit, to just waiting in your starting area to leave
15:30 rare footage of pyro's genuine laugh
Can’t wait for the finale where they have a 4v1 with the monster
My guess as to why armored personnel aren't in the backrooms is because of the ability to escape if you hit the walls fast enough. Tho tbf, I'm sure the military would gladly risk bullet rain over the entire world if it meant taking down the monsters lmao
6:29 Backrooms instructional video announcer when you get out of the backrooms: "You have been in suspension for 99999999999999999"
Bro literally included the “How to pick up a blue chair” bit
In the off chance Pyro sees this and he plans on looking over the Backrooms by Kane again, there are unlisted videos that you can access through links in the descriptions of Kane's videos.
Just a reminder that in the full stream, someone jokingly asked if he’s watching five nights at Freddy jump loves, he didn’t know what that was and searched it up on stream. Funniest shit ever
god the way the Backrooms is built up as a Black-Mesa style research investigation is so so fucking cool. this has to be my absolute favourite take on the Backrooms ever
i cant get enough of how natural all the dialogue feels as well, they're not pointing out the obvious like "oh wow a house down here how wacky" its just shocked silence because how the fuck would you even react to that
The original backrooms image + text will always be the greatest rendition but the whole Level 0 1 2 thing is a close second.
Funniest thing about The Backrooms is that some people actually think this shit is real.
Gullible children will be gullible.
Let them think it's real
Then we will know who to stay away from
It seems like Kane Pixel’s backrooms is really inspired by Stranger Things and the upside down
I love how the backrooms pop up in and out of the culture every few years.
Keep up the content. Watching pyrolive has been a daily practice for me for the last month or so
Man the fact that Kane is a teenager and making this Is truly the most impressive thing
it still fascinates me how this place actually looks like something I'd see in my dreams, like the bizarre architecture and corridors, which I've never seen before but still get a weird nostalgic feeling from
Backrooms is a good example of something that was cool until it got popular, backrooms is just not scary anymore because of how overused it is
You’re looking at the wrong stuff then lol
People started adding different levels like it's a damn video game and explaining any miniscule dedail that could be explained, killing any mystic in the process
@@amoongoos so by that logic, the scp foundation is also not mysterious either. People like to expound on cool concepts, if you don’t enjoy it then don’t watch it, but the backrooms is in a good spot and the creativity surrounding it is only making it better and more fleshed out.
"his name's reward!!" made me choke on my food thanks puro
truly incredible, amazing content form the lesbian
my reaction to that information
Never thought I'd hear Pyro say CoryxKenshin but here we are
I like how there's a few low quality textures in the series, but it still makes perfect sense because the backrooms are supposed to be like a glitch in a video game
One thing I don't understand with niall is him being scared of spooky youtube videos but still somehow being able to play the entire cry of Fear game. 💀

you should definitely make a 1 hour video analyzing the entire series
Watched it live but I gotta consoom more media from pyro
@@sblankg the wiki isn't related to Kane's backrooms series. and imo ruins what makes the backrooms so daunting
I used to think so too, until I actually checked the wiki out.
pyro british accent asmr (gone wrong) (gone backrooms)
This is a certified goofy ahh classic
imo, the backrooms is a very cool concept. But the more you expand on it the more lame it gets
The monsters also make it really lame. The thought of being alone makes this place more scary yet intriguing

Blender editors are scarier than their monsters on the backrooms
