It's amazing how something so mundane back in 1983 is so enjoyable in 2021

used to love all these commercials.....on saturday nights, we were allowed to stay up later to watch championship wrestling but had to be in bed at 1am as soon as fright night came on

Didn't grow up in the New York area, but thanks to that wonderful new thing called Cable TV, we were able to watch WOR from NYC & WUAB from Cleveland, while some of our friends & family members who lived in the next county got WGN from Chicago & TBS from Atlanta. Cable wasn't yet advanced enough to where everyone could get ALL the channels LMFAO

Fantastic! Was too young to stay up for this, but you can bet I'd watched the Channel 9 News at Noon earlier.

For $20 bucks for handy ready to use world traveller iron? Alright 😎
    I"ll take it.
Nevertheless , I was a little five year old boy , when this commercial was aired. And at times when I see an 1-800 commercials with large helvetica numbers, on television screen with credit card and c.o.d. orders, back in the day, I get scared. Now at my age of 41, it brings me back memories, thanks to you tube.☎️📺 Thanks to WOR-TV (now WWOR -TV channel 9).

    Dear Sir or Madam:
This is a message for you and the video staff members of "The Basement Labs." The information is about the following video:
"Commercials -- WOR-TV, New York City February, 1983"
The television commercials shown on that video were aired during February 1983, but do you know the exact date when the commercials aired? If you have the answer, please send the information to me. By the way, is there anyway that people can contact "The Basement Labs" by "e-mail"? If you have the answer, please send that information to me as well.
I thank you in advance and hope to receive your reply.
    Best regards,
    W. A. P.

I kinda did my best to date it from the events/commercials/etc but all this happened before I was born.
Otherwise, idk, what you need? :D

      To whom it may concern,
Your response did *not* answer the question. According to the web page on the official *CZcams*(TM) web site, the TV commercials were aired during the President's Day weekend in February, 1983; but, that still does *not* help.
This is an important message for all video staff members of @@TheBasementLabs . The message will involve the video:
"Commercials -- WOR-TV, New York City February, 1983"
You and your video staff members *must do* the research on the video and get the exact date when those TV commercials were aired. Also, you and your staff *must update* the web page on the official *CZcams* web site by listing *all* of the TV commercials that are shown on that video. If you need to find out how to do it, please let me know, and I will show you how.
I thank you in advance and hope to receive your reply.
      Best regards,
      W. A. P.

if you feel my reply was sharp, please understand.
This is my hobby. I'm one person. I wanted to share cool stuff with the world because I spent way too much money to buy the proper equipment to archive VHS tapes for another project.
I don't make money here. This only costs me money. About a thousand worth of AV equipment and computer upgrades to be able to get here and from there between $0.50 and $5 a tape for the content.
I'm not making any money. Any ads on videos are because they got content id'd and the content holders are putting ads there.

      To whom it may concern,
I would like to thank you for replying to my latest message. Now is the time for me to make a clarification about posting videos on the official *CZcams*(TM) web site.
You would *not* have been able to post videos with classic TV commercials on the *CZcams* web site without the help of your co-workers and the people of *CZcams*(TM). You and your co-workers for @@TheBasementLabs had to get permission from many broadcast (or cable) TV networks or stations before you could post them on the web site. If there were classic 1980's TV commercials on any video that you and your co-workers had found, then you and your co-workers would have to get permission from certain advertising agencies.
Hopefully, that information will help you understand why it is important to get permission *before* posting any videos of the *CZcams*(TM) web site.
I thank you in advance and hope to receive your reply.
      Best regards,
      W. A. P.

For your information, the current title of the video is still arranged incorrectly. You have to contact the CZcams™ people who will help you rearrange the title. If you make any agreement with the CZcams™ staff, then you, your staff, and the CZcams™ staff must rearrange the video title exactly like this:
    “WOR-TV (Channel 9 - New York) Commercials - February, 1983 (VHS)”
That is and would be the proper way to arrange the video title. Remember. If and when you and your co-workers find any videos with television commercials from local television stations in the United States, proper arrangement of video titles is and will be important.
Also, you have never informed me whether you talked with the CZcams™ staff about changing the captions for that video. If you reach the CZcams™ staff, you and your co-workers must tell them to eliminate all of the "auto-generated" captions and to replace them with the "English (United States)" captions (or the "English - CC1" captions). All of the captions must have all words and names spelled correctly.
If you make any agreement with the CZcams™ staff, please let me know what you will plan to do. It is extremely important for you to send your response on both issues.
I thank you for your attention.
