When taxes come around I'll be busting my butt to make up what I owe. It's guna be suck. I can't save money for taxes I barely make enough as it is with DD

Expensing miles vs actual expenses is important. It’s 67 cents per mile which I would most certainly expect to be more beneficial than the cost for vehicle/gas/tires/oil changes/etc etc. You can’t do both. Don’t forget about cell phone bills and other things that you use while working the biz. Those all add up and can drastically reduce your tax liabilities. Not a CPA, please do your own homework.

@@bmills5824 in canada we calculate our business portion of our mileage and whatever % that works out to be is the % we can claim on vehicle expenses, gas and other qualified costs etc. Last year I pretty much broke even, didn't get much of a tax return but also didn't have to pay in.

I chose the weekly pay option and I save 30% for taxes and I also keep $75 for gas. The rest goes to credit card debt which should be paid off by October.

Can anyone tell me how much gap insurance is, I live in New Jersey. I have asked several fellow gig workers in my area and everyone keeps telling me commercial insurance is required to do gig work and it is extremely expensive.

Instacart or Uber delivery seems time consuming having to spend time shopping. Especially time spent at Walmart pick up and driving around town.

Select per time vs per order on DD. I missed up not selecting that option bc it’s Saturday on holiday weekend and was raining delaying deliveries so if I had selected per time not per offer I would made more. So I’m reviewing the basics and terms on the apps. I selected DD added in few Uber eats when DD not available. I prioritized DD because of the promotions. I’m busting my butt make $100 a day though I multi app. I’m finding I can’t have Uber eats and DD on at same time at peak times bc it causes food delivery delays but ok when slow. I do rideshare when food delivery is slow or visa versa

There is recent talk (again) about, though DDash doesn’t confirm, is that they will bump
you off of the app if they see that you’re multi-apping and that you have the DD app in the background instead of active/front.

DoorDash can't do that though because it's in their own Terms of Service that they will not prevent you from providing YOUR Delivery Service to their competition. It even says that DoorDash is NOT a Delivery Service! It says YOU are the Delivery Service as a 1099 Independent Contractor. Seriously - read the TOS. I promise you - they cannot do that because they wrote it in their own words that they won't do that.
