- ~~ How to Make a Monster High Doll-sized Robe a la Française Gown! Book by @AbbyCox / @AmericanDuchess1 ~~
I promised I would make a follow-up video, and here she is! I decided that instead of rehashing the parts I already covered in my “Charité “La Dame Rouge” - 18th Century Rococo Demon” ( • Charité “La Dame Rouge... ) video, I would simply focus on the gown and the additional pieces I couldn’t fit. This is probably more of a supplemental video, rather than a full production, but I hope you enjoy it all the same.
Please keep in mind that I don’t consider myself an expert in any of these fields. I’m not a fashion historian, seamstress, or professional doll maker. I’m just a schmuck. 😛
With that in mind, have a good time and thank you for watching!

OH! I just started a Ko-fi account. I don’t expect a lot from it, but it would be nice to have a little money to go toward supplies, hardware upgrades, or even just coffee to keep me going! So if you’re interested, check it out! ko-fi.com/dollypopdolls

"certifiable hot mess" that should be on stickers and shirts I love it 🤣
Also your video qualitiy, your voice overs (fun and great to understand), the humor and your craftsmanship are so so good and make the whole video a great experience and sooo inspiring! I am always amazed with every video by the quality of your work, you can really tell the passion and love not only for the subject(s) but also for sharing it! I truly hope you´ll never stop making videos, I just love them so much! And the end results are always gorgeous till the tiniest detail!
Maybe I’ll eventually make some merch and plaster that on everything. 😂
Thank you for not only for the amazing compliment, but for noticing how much I really do love everything about this process. It’s part of my heart. ❤️
@@DollyPop there is absolutely no thanks needed! It's a wonderful thing seeing people work with love and passion on something and sharing it! ❤️
Listen I was already incredibly impressed by such an intricate gown at such a small scale, but I actually *gasped* when you revealed you made pockets
Haha! Priorities!
I hope Bernadette watches this channel, you’re just as sweet and charming as she is.
Such beautiful work. ☺️
That is HIGH praise! Thank you!
So excited to watch this when it comes out!
Edit: completely blanked on this release time! Well, watching now, an hour later!
Another very entertaining video. You have many talents 😀👍. You’re definitely up there with MaKsy and the rest of them 😍👍
Well, I’m not sure about that. 😂 But I truly appreciate the compliment!
My respets , girl. It's a great challenge make this dress historically correct. Your patience in a pressure time like halloween (one of the most waiting and loved seasons for the doll community) it's something so admirable. (Sorry for my bad english!)
I think your English is fine. 😅 It certainly was a stressful time of year to be making such a labor-intensive doll though. 😅
i'm so impressed with the dress, it's awesome you where able to make this!😍🥰
Thanks! There were several times where I almost gave up, but I persevered. I’m pleased with how it turned out.
This is an amazing dress!
Thank you!
I am still as amazed over this dress as I was when you uploaded the first video about it & the doll it belongs to. It’s a work of art.
Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment. 😍 I notice all of the fiddly details, but I’m pretty proud of her.
The gown is GORGEOUS! Great job!!!
Thank you so much! ☺️☺️☺️
Absolutely amazing!
Awwww shucks. Thanks!
Gorgeous gown ❤️❤️ you really did a fantastic job ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!
This is very beautiful
Thank you so much!
Just wow!!! 🎉
Thank you!
The Gown still came out Beautiful.💖 This will come out handy in case I make a Rococo, Lolita, or Decora with a gown like this or maybe a Candy land doll or the Cloud Queen from over the Garden Wall with a few changes. See you next time.
I’d love to see you make any of those!
@@DollyPop It may take some time for me to practice on record & download all my hard work, I just need a bit more practice, wish me the very best of luck I will let you all know once my hardest of work is on you tube.👍
Once again, the intersection of Historical Dressmaking and Doll Modding is exactly where I want to live, oh my god!
My next few won’t be historical, but you can bet yer britches that there will be more like this in the future. 😂😉
She is FABUUUU!!! [Great Work!]
Thank you!
You are too funny (and talented)!
You’re a bit biased. 😉
For being a self-proclaimed "hot mess", you're far more methodical, technical and detailed than a lot of "historic couture" youtubers. And in doll size no less!!!!
It came out ah-mah-zing my dear!!! Great job!!!! ❤
Haha! That’s only because I have the ability to hide my shame. The amount of times I had to pleat and re-pleat ANYTHING was more than a little embarrassing. 😅
@@DollyPop no shame!!! And the end result is stunning nonetheless... and as a fellow creative I know how it is hahahaha the editing really helps me hide the trial and error process sometimes 😅
@@TashasImaginarium I usually try to show my “screw-ups” but the video would have been 4 hours long. 😂
AMAZING!!!!
Thank you so much!
This was fantastic to watch! I sat mesmerised watching, your attention to detail is incredible. This dress absolutely is a piece of art. Stunning work!
Awww! Thank you again, Libby! ❤️
She's so gorgeous. I saw the video where you started her and I love watching people translate regular clothes to doll clothes. I just love sewing clothes period!
The funny thing is that I’ve never really fancied myself as a seamstress. I knew how to sew two pieces together and turn them right side out. But doll making has really forced me to learn so much.
👏👏👏❤
SO COOL 💜💜💜 one little thing XD to pronounce à la française say "fronseiz" hissing S first, then buzzing Z 💜💜💜
Thank you. I’m learning French, but my pronunciation is lacking.
@@DollyPop Very good! French is pretty XD The numbers are weird though XD 💜
Marie Antoinette doll for Halloween :)
That was kind of my thought. 😆
Where you been hunny
What do you mean? I’ve uploaded two videos recently. Another is coming this weekend.
This is the most gorgeous gown ever but that spider embroidery reminds me a lot of Spider-Man, still beautiful but damn that’s distracting
I saw that while I was making her, so I kind of leaned into it. The purple is much more purple in person, so it doesn’t have that feeling. But I’ve taken to calling her “Spider-Madame”. 😂😂😂
