  • Our A6M3 c/n 3148 was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in September 1942. The A6M3 Model 32, with squared wingtips had the official Allied reporting name Hamp, with the A6M2 and later A6M5 (featuring rounded wingtips) being known officially as the Zeke. Despite this, the name Zero, derived from the Japanese designation Type 0 Carrier Fighter (for the last digit in Imperial Year 2600) entered the American public consciousness during the war, and has stayed there ever since!
With so many great guesses from everyone yesterday, and so much excitement surrounding the announcement of a new airplane joining the collection we have moved up the release of this short video by Hemlock Films! We also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Legend Flyers for their incredible work on this A6M3 Hamp.
