- Out along the Atlantic coast, due west of Shipp’s Bay and south of Virginia Beach, you’ll find the private Virginia Beach Airport (42VA). The runway is made up of an impressive 4,800 feet of taildragger-friendly grass. It’s bordered by a classic checkerboard water tower and a series of hangars. Those hangars and that runway are home to one of the largest and most remarkable aircraft collections anywhere in the world, a collection that started with one man’s first impassioned purchase and has grown into the crown jewel that is the Military Aviation Museum.

We were in Williamsburg last summer and am so glad we made the effort to go see this. It's a wonderful place and I applaud the efforts of Jerry and his staff and volunteers to keep it operating.

Oh wow! This is definitely on my bucket list now! I'm a little disappointed that we let a historic control tower get dismantled and sent to America. However I am happy that it has been preserved and displayed somewhere rather than being completely demolished.
I look forward to seeing it in person one day as well as all the other amazing aircraft you have.

This is awesome! I currently live in Virginia and I had no idea about it. Now I have added it to my list of places to visit besides Wallops island to see the rocket launch facility. Thanks a ton to everyone for restoring these marvels and building a safe heaven to house them for the public. Your dedication is extremely inspiring.
Excellent film, l live in Goxhill, England where your control tower is from,remember seeing it before it was dismantled.Done a couple of paintings of the airfield. Lived in the commanding officers bungalow (modernised ) 🙂 for many a year.
