It was very interesting to see some of the other tyranid paint schemes as all of my models are done in Kronos, as they are my favorite Hive Fleet, because of their lore, and I did my whole Army in their scheme as a result.

How'd you paint the blue Leviathan tongue? It looks great!
Hey thanks! I used a couple of different contrast paints. There was a dark blue, a mid and then the aerthmatic blue and I essentially just wet blended them on the tongue đ

Hey thanks. Haha yep I thought I was being super creative and flicked through the codex and went âdam!â
So I try to focus on making the darker parts of their armour even darker and their skin even whiter just to expand the contrast of Tiamat.

Thanks so much đ good question! Iâm confident that this nozzle is just the one that came with the Badger Patriot 105 which I believe is the medium.
I find that I donât need the âfineâ ones for my level of painting and these slightly larger ones are more forgiving for stoppages etc whilst Iâm still learning. Hope that helps!

How do you get that clear saliva/resin look in your Tyranids?

Hey! It's Uhu glue, but the European version. I have around 15 tubes of various glues that suggest I had a hard time locating the right one. Squeeze some onto some spare paper and use a tooth pick to grab a portion and drag it from point to point on the model. That's how I do mine.

Thanks so much. I use âoff whiteâ by Vallejo and it works great for me. It doesnât die after a week like some of the other brands. Iâve had it for a couple of years and itâs still in the same condition.
For the hive fleet leviathan scheme did you use 1:1:1 ratio for volupous pink, apothecary white and lahmiam medium? or did you add extra lahmiam medium?

Do you have any links to airbrushes you recommend? Also, what is the blue clay stuff you are using?
I use a Badger Patriot 105. I have two different sized needles for it and I find that to be a really good forgiving airbrush for me. There are fancier ones out there but this is still my first and has lasted me a few years already đ
Oh and thatâs blu-tac which is a putty like adhesive. Usually used for sticking posters to walls but figured I could use it to mask.
Awesome look, I am just getting into 40k a just picked up a combat patrol for tyranids. Just asking but is there any certain color patterns I have to stick with or can I go with whatever colors I want?
Nup you can paint them however you like and play them with whatever Hive Fleet rules you like. So my blue and white ice tyranids can use the Leviathan rules one game and then the Kraken rules the next. The rule of cool always wins out. Combat patrol is a great way to dive in, enjoy!

Ugh, having trouble recreating your custom fleets ice blue wash with the vallejo xpress colors, might have to go down and shop those contrasts
Yeah I havenât tried the Vallejo xpress. Is it that they donât have similar colours or are they just behaving differently?
@@flashingbadgerpainting A mix of both really. Im using Mystic blue, which isnt quite as "weak" as aethermatic blue and a different hue ofcourse. For white im using templar white, which looks to be a bit more grey than apothecary white. Did'nt have no medium, so i thinned it out with water, which might be the issue, because it just seemed to be a "one coat" instead of running mostly into the recesses, like how your mix looks to do

Do you mask off every termagaunt? Or just the bigger nids?
Nup just the bigger bugs. With things like termagaunts, warriors, zoanthropes etc the most I will do is use some blu tac / poster tac, roll it thin like tiny snakes and use that to mask around the very edges.

What's your hive Fleet called?
I still haven't settled on a name. I have some lore surrounding them about being a fleet buried under ice and each other passing fleet link up and pass on their adaptations and knowledge and then some unsuspecting marines will touch down on the surface only to be horrifically surprised :| Any suggestions?

Oh that is such a cool idea. My mind is racing with logo ideas for an ice drilling corporation and similar bases for the cult. I love this idea. A lot.
