Good video, and good for trail repair. Double Cardan is like a rubixcube for me, good point about few ujoints have grease when they're replaced. Even the cheapest U joints do ok for me if I keep them greased. I started using non greasable dana on stuff I can't service/grease and I think they last the longest. Dana greasable for the win, when I can afford it though.
Dude!!! Been there done that!! I even had blood pouring out of my finger from under the nail. It was just barely hanging on so I went ahead and ripped it off to get it over with. Glad you enjoyed the info. Have a great day!
At no point did you go to a bench, or walk into a shop with the prop shaft. I swear you coulda touched the Jeep the whole time you made the repair. I'm willing to bet a fresh Krispy Kreme you've done that on the trail before. on top of a rock. possibly using a different, smaller rock. with a tire iron. :) good work!
I've changed ujoints laying in the middle of a field, parking lots, and even on the side of the road in the middle of a big rain. I'm no stranger to driving broke junk! LOL 😀👍
I have a 06 Rubicon that needs this done too. Is there any reason I can't drive a week or so without the front drive shaft installed while I order parts and rebuild it? {UPDATE, nevermind you sort of answered it in the video}

Thanks for a fantastic video. From start to finish you made it seem like an idiot like me can do this. You deserve a CZcams Emmy.
Bookmarked for future repairs
Great! Hope it helps!! Thanks and have a great day!
Appreciate the video. Just ordered the centering yoke kit. Gonna tackle this next weekend.
Hope the video helps. Good luck!!

Thanks for the video! Rebuilding a 1974 J10 that needs that work done.
I like J10s!! You are welcome. Hope the video helps
I used a mini sledge, just lost my whole thumbnail.... Great info. My execution was not on par.

Great video as always , thanks Chuck
At 12:14, pay attention to which way the grease (zerk) fitting is facing. Make sure you can get a grease gun on it after it's installed.
That is very true! Thanks for leaving a great tech tip to help others!
I like to put extra grease in the caps to help hold the needle bearings in place. Good video thanks.
It really does help!

Any issues if the centering pin of the centering yoke is removed? How does the centering yoke assist in movements?
It's crucial to the "CV" functioning as it's supposed to because it keeps the 2 U-Joints at the same angle.
👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!!
where can i buy that rubber seal at 18:20 ?? i cant find it anywhere
Are the 3 u joints all the same part numbers? Rock auto and autozone have conflicting data
did you ever find out which part number was for the other u-joint on the other side?
