    Great video! Keep up the good work. I really enjoyed how you took the time to explain alternative lines. I also liked how you introduced the players in the beginning and how you summed the game up in the end by emphasizing its important moment and it's general charactaristic. I'm glad such a commentary exists in English and am thrilled to watch more of your videos.

    I love the idea of subsidies for training, that´s a real pro. Do Weiqi players also recieve such subsidies? Thank you for the video!

    Maybe I am missing something, but at 9:14 why did the black chariot move to avoid the cannon (2)? he could have taken the cannon (1) and blocked the attack?

    • @XiangqiChineseChess
      @XiangqiChineseChess  Před 3 měsíci +1

      This is because that E7 cannon is protected by the red C5 elephant

  • @kydd6478
    @kydd6478 Před 10 měsíci

    I can't keep up with which color is moving but at 13:56 if black was moving wouldn't it be a checkmate with ma\horse on that b7

    • @XiangqiChineseChess
      @XiangqiChineseChess  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Good question!
      It is indeed black’s turn at 13:56, but horse to B7 is not a checkmate, since red can block the check by moving the C6 cannon to B6.

    • @ArtofSpeculation
      @ArtofSpeculation Před 8 měsíci

      Red cannon on C6 could take a step back to B6 and “block the horse”. But yes, the positions in high level games of xiangqi are always so fraught with dangerous counterattacks - what an explosive move waiting for the right moment.

    For the good sake on Earth please change the symbol for "chariot" with another possible symbols rather than those irrelevant and confusing "castle".
