I love the direction you have took for this video - Please analyze more high level games. Please analyze them all!
Thanks for the support!
I watched the entire video. Definitely the best commentary that I've ever seen for a chinese chess game. Superb!
Thanks for the support!
Please make more videos like this! I really enjoyed this analysis
Thanks a lot!
Great video! Keep up the good work. I really enjoyed how you took the time to explain alternative lines. I also liked how you introduced the players in the beginning and how you summed the game up in the end by emphasizing its important moment and it's general charactaristic. I'm glad such a commentary exists in English and am thrilled to watch more of your videos.
Your kind words really mean a lot to us! We hope to share our knowledge on this beautiful games to people that are not capable of understanding Chinese(As the majority of the resources about Xiangqi are written in Chinese), and we are so happy that you find our videos useful and enjoyable.
We will continue to work hard to deliver more xiangqi content for our audience, and hope you would enjoy our future videos as well!
I will do my best to learn to play xiangqi

it's very hard to get find any advice or instruction for Xiangqi in English so this is much appreciated!
True, I play regular chess but I have Chinese friends and wanted to learn more but not much in English.
I want to learn this.
I love the idea of subsidies for training, that´s a real pro. Do Weiqi players also recieve such subsidies? Thank you for the video!
Yes, it is the same for weiqi and chess players in China
Nice game!
Glad you like it!
Maybe I am missing something, but at 9:14 why did the black chariot move to avoid the cannon (2)? he could have taken the cannon (1) and blocked the attack?
This is because that E7 cannon is protected by the red C5 elephant
I can't keep up with which color is moving but at 13:56 if black was moving wouldn't it be a checkmate with ma\horse on that b7
Good question!
It is indeed black’s turn at 13:56, but horse to B7 is not a checkmate, since red can block the check by moving the C6 cannon to B6.
Red cannon on C6 could take a step back to B6 and “block the horse”. But yes, the positions in high level games of xiangqi are always so fraught with dangerous counterattacks - what an explosive move waiting for the right moment.
I watched the whole video and I enjoyed it but I am confused to who won?
Glad you enjoyed it! It's GM Wang who won.
Wang tian yi is chinese??? Or vietnamese???
Wang is a Chinese player
For the good sake on Earth please change the symbol for "chariot" with another possible symbols rather than those irrelevant and confusing "castle".
😂 looks like a rook, moves like a rook
