- Here’s something healthy, simple and delicious you can make for breakfast every day and never get tired of: soy milk, called duyu (두유) in Korean. It’s a nutty blend of beans and nuts that has a lot of fiber and protein and is really good for you.
Full recipe: www.maangchi.com/recipe/duyu
There’s no milk in it at all, even though it look like foamy latte milk and goes down very smooth and creamy.

Nice meeting you through my cooking channel! Cheers!
Whenever my sister drinks milk she usually falls sick as she is allergic to all dairy products and soy milk is really expensive outside so i tried making this recipe and it turned out really tasty and she loved it. I hate soy milk but with your receipe even I have started drinking soy milk. Thank you so much for this amazing receipe !! Love from India !! ❤
Great!
That is so sweet of you! What a kind friend
@@Maangchihi.. how do you keep the soy milk longer in the fridge..? I find that after 1-2 days the milk starts to seperate and it starts to become slightly sour and thicken up
I only make enough soy milk at home to drink at one time. I don't store it in the refrigerator. @@daddeyy208

I am so happy I finally tried this recipe! As I've gotten older it's been harder for me to process dairy, but I love milk. Most non-dairy milks have an aftertaste I don't care for, and they don't have the tangy, refreshing taste that I like. This recipe DOES! I was so surprised. My blender doesn't blend super finely, so I strained out the large chunks of soybean and nuts (I freeze them to use later) that settle on the bottom to make it smooth all the way through. It's the perfect replacement for dairy milk. I doubled the recipe to make a whole pitcher for my fridge, and I can't wait to make another batch!
👏
This is the only one channel where I hardly founded any negative comments. You express so much love through your videos that your viewers do the same to you. Bravo to such a beautiful human being. I'm going to make this recipe. Thank you millions.

When I was younger, I got so sick and stayed in the hospital and could not eat anything cause it hurt so bad. Then the lady next to me told me her life story of how tough life she had but still tried so hard to survive and told me to eat the orange to gain appetite and the strong flavor will hurt me less. I think If she can endured all those I can handle an orange. Then I survived on oranges for a week and feel better. Never ever forget her strength and kindness.
Thanks Maangchi! I made this recipe today with a twist! I added cocoa powder and roasted almonds to make it chocolate soy milk! So good!!

I made this yesterday and did not add the cashew nuts, but i did add the toasted soya and a few drops of vanilla essence (just 3 drops) and 1/8 t salt. It was delicious. Just like you said... boil for 15 minutes only. no more, no less :) . No smell, no after taste. I am going to soak and freeze shelled soya beans for keeping it ready. Thank you for this recipe.

Maangchi, I wish I had seen this video sooner. My brother in law just passed away from pancreatic cancer one month ago. He was fond of Korean food. Hello Maangchi, I have a bit of a problem with the soy milk, when I do everything and I blend it, there is a "paste" left and the soft silk liquid left is not much. Is that because I don't blend it enough ?
Thank you for your video !! I tried a lot !
yes, you should blend it longer. Good luck!
Use the cooked bean water for plants rather than dumping in sink. High in nitrogen
Excellent idea! 💧 And nothing goes to waste. 🌱
its aquafABA people blend it as a egg type meringue. I didnt like it much but I will feed my plants.
Great idea! No waste!
I know it's aquafaba but isn't the lectin from the beans in that water? Does anyone know if it's safe to consume?
@@fancyoo8670 nope. Aquafaba is the leftover water when cooked. Generally for Chickpeas.
I made this today and it was really delicious! Very healthy. And you are right, the salt really makes a big difference, and the toasted sesame seeds. Thank you for this recipe :)

maangchi, the story you shared of the woman who's a cancer survivor touched me. My mom has many health issues that she sometimes doesn't eat for days cause she doesn't have an appetite but I hope to make this for her someday.

We often joke saying that we wish you as our mom so me could taste your cooking all the time jajaja.
Today I try this recipe and I really like the taste I just didn't like the grainy texture at the end so I strain it a bit and Woo wonderful. Now I'm ready to try your delicious breads recipes and have it with this duyu!!
Yes, I'd like to meet you guys someday, too! : ) I used to skins off the beans when I made soy milk until a few years ago. But I found out I don't need to remove the skins anymore because these days blender quality is so good (vitamix) that I can grind the whole beans including the skins very nicely until creamy.

Oh wow! The ending WAS rather touching! Thanks!
my mom made me peel one kilo of soy beans before when i was still in my grade school. It was so tiring but the soya milk was so fresh and soy bean pulp with egg was sooo tasty. I could say it's all worth it. :)
I adjusted recipe. Ended up with just a little over 1 cup after soaking. I made this with black sesame , walnuts and Added agave. At 15 mins mine did not bubble so I boiled longer. So easy! I used to buy this but I dont like carrageenan. This is tastier. Thank you

It's always good to strain the fiber after blending. It gives it a perfect texture
