This happens A LOT (my brother works in locations). A fun example related to the topic -- the school in Brightburn (the very good Smallville horror movie y'all should see) is the same school they used in Stranger Things.
Plus that actress is going to be Lois in the new Superman movie, so it all ties in together seamlessly

I am from Michigan. Never had a lumberjacking experience in my life. Never knew anybody else who lumberjacks. All the stuff with the golden arm and the demonic stuff is spot on.

Quibi feels like an idea from Tom Haverford.
I will say, one genuinely good usage of Quibi's gimmick is this (mystery/horror-like) drama about a guy that gets stranded in the Alaskan wilderness trying to get back to society. I forgot what the actual show was called but when you hold your phone horizontally it plays like a regular high quality show where the main character is trying to get help and call his friend but when holding it vertically you are shown a live feed of the phone in the show when he is holding the phone up to his ear or checking for service you can actually see him going through his phone and the facetime of his friend as if you were doing it. That I feel was the only genius idea and it's sad that with the death of Quibi ideas like this will pretty much never happen
I feel like I'd just want to see both the whole time (like Nintendo DS style - which btw hotel dusk utilized brilliantly)
I think the saddest part of quibi shutting down is that we'll never get another caravan of garbage based on them.
This is madness, he's doing 4 different voices instead of 2 in this one!! Fair Play.

@@Brams2777 Yeah, the only way gold can cause sickness is if the person has an allergy to it, which retrospectively makes this a lot funnier because it means she presumably was aware of her allergy to gold and just got the arm for aesthetics
Ancient hand with a curse ruins the moral though. Takes away her agency. It’s not her personal flaws and vanity that caused her downfall, a weird magic curse no one could see coming fucked with her mind. Not that the original executed the moral very well either, but still.

Apologies for not knowing the name, but the one person from Aunti Donna who was obviously holding back insane giggles every time he said Quibi was hilarious. Also, having just fought spellcheck to write Quibi it says something about the durability of your brand when no one bothers to include it in the spellcheck algorithm.

You wanted to know if this felt like Michigan and I can say, yes, it does. The Raimi brothers are from Michigan and have a lot of love for the state and it shows. I actually want to see this goofy golden arm thing but, if it weren’t cancelled, I never would have paid for Quibi.

We actually have a saying, "Don't chop your wife's arm off while cutting wood", which was instilled in us by our lumberjack ancestors. The story in the show is actually culturally significant to us, I hope that answers your question!
Sam Raimi being from Michigan makes me wonder if the showrunners intended to use directors from each state that the stories took place in. I'm not going to look it up, but if anyone does, it would be a fun bit of trivia to share

I've lived in Michigan my whole life and I've never heard of this folktale. Though I live in Northern Michigan which is entirely separate culture from central MI, which in turn is completely separate from Southern MI. And all three are completely separate from everything going on in the upper peninsula.

As a Michigan resident, this is a SUPER popular urban legend, story, whatever. I just assumed it was an American staple and not more specific. They changed the story A LOT (as far as I know the "tree accident" part was never there in the original story) for some reason.

Look I’ll be honest I had no idea who aunty Donna were. I’d seen the roll call skit somewhere and only retroactively recognized Matt from do go on. This Caravan of garbage and this weeks Weekly planet are some of the funniest damn episodes I’ve ever heard/seen. We need more seasons of Aunty Donna just so they can come back again.
Honestly, 50 States of Fright sounds like a fun idea. Hope it comes back as a proper series.

EVERY Sam Rami movie/show has that old shitty pale yellow car in it. From the 1st evil dead to this I SAW IT AGAIN. EVEN SPIDERMAN look close. He may tear it up and hide it but its in there. Pretty sure he hid it in a wagon in a western movie. Like the frame. He always puts that car in there. I duno why but its an oldsmobile or buick or something like that
It was a car from his childhood I believe. I remember Bruce Campbell talking about going to the movies with Raimi in that car. It's just his little signature on his movies

Caravan Of Garbage Episodes on The Punisher Movies- 1989 & 2004. I know there's obviously the Netflix one and the 2008 solo remake thing. But I think the first 2 are good to do back to back.

I’m really surprised to hear that so many industry people thought Quibi would be successful. When I first saw the ads for it, it seemed like a bad idea, I found the ads incredibly irritating, and I never heard anyone talk about Quibi. Why did anyone think a regular streaming service with massive limitations was a good idea?

@@jaxontee3201 and because of the studio interference on Spider-man 3, the box office for that film was lower and they eventually abandoned Raimi's plans for Spider-man 4. So the studio decided to do a reboot to maintain a hold on their rights to the Spider-man character. So my initial comment was correct.... as well as a joke and not entirely serious.
