    The definition of Causality: The relationship between cause and effect. Because Femto projected malice towards Guts by Rpng Casca, he unintentionally brought about his own demise. It was not planned but it is an unforseen oversight by Femto. Most importantly it WAS meant to be, not an accident, Causality holds everything in our universe fully accountable.

      God that would be such a perfect way to bring down Griffith, not to mention it would be genius foreshadowing. The event that ultimately caused Griffith's temporary demise was his impulsive uhm... passionate hug with Charlotte after Guts peaced out of the band of the Hawk. And the event that will have caused his likely much more permanent demise is forcing himself upon Casca out of spite for Guts. Basically he didn't learn his lesson the first time and because of that he's gonna get fucked (oh the irony!) by the very demon child he "helped" spawn.

      It's clear at this point that the moonlight child is Griffith, so what if for one night every 28 days his body is taken by the original person he was meant to be, Casca's and Guts's son? It would be amazing that this being walking between the astral and the physical world, the result of the love and affection between Casca and Guts plus Griffith repeating his "mistake", will be the key to solve the astral and physical world mixture chaos.

    At 15:50, Griffith thinks "These feelings must belong to that infant that fused into my vessel". I’ve always thought that “causality” in berserk is a red herring, and doesn’t actually exist. When the egg apostle swallowed Guts’ son (the demon child), it stayed in the egg and Femto used it (the demon child) as a physical vessel to get a body, since Griffith took the body of Guts’ son (the demon child), the demon child can influence Griffith’s action sometimes as Griffith unconsciously saved casca at the hill of swords and thus at full moon, Griffith transforms into the Moonlight boy (which I believe is the physical manifestation of the demon child fully influencing and taking over Griffith and the body)

    Wouldn't the demon baby being an accidental vessel that's keying up a weakness for Femto later on just be a further example of how Guts just existing throws a wrench into causality. By virtue of there being some of Guts in the Demon baby, that portion of him that's a constant exception to the rule of destiny is extended into Femto. Also, it would make sense since Guts was essentially a demon baby himself, for his child to be a 'bad omen' to the one who took him in (in this case Griffith)

      I thought the same thing but that’s not entirely true because Femto is a god hand even if they kill his body in the physical world femto would probably still be alive as he was before the child. It’s gonna take a lot more than killing the moon child to end Griffith.

      @@sampalace358 oh definitely, I don't think the moon child situation will be his ultimate downfall but it puts a damper on him being in absolute control. It would definitely be on Berserk brand for Guts or Casca to have to kill their child thinking it'll be the absolute death of Femto only to have the big tragic reveal that filicide wasn't enough to finish the job. The question is, assuming that they kill Griffith's physical form, would that doom Falconia? I think part of Guts still has it in him to screw over an entire haven for humanity just to kill the Godhand. I'm reading it through from the beginning for the first time and a lot of my knowledge of current events comes from videos like this so I may not be fully parsing together every detail so I welcome any input.

      @@ivanharris203 you’ve got a good grip on most of the lore essentially from what you said. But you got to remember that falconia was only possible due to 1 Griffith obviously comming back with the neo band of the hawk, but 2 Princess charlotte being his queen as she is the heir with royal blood. If Griffith loses his tether to the physical world (the demon child) then he’s not really hindered much outside of the fact that he’ll be stuck as Femto without being able to transition back into his Griffith form freely. But remember also that they broke the barrier or spell that separates the two worlds when that spirit tree was burned down if I remember correctly. so it’s not that he wouldn’t be able to interact with the physical world as much as his facade would be broken. You see when he opened falconia and summoned all of those souls back that was part of his facade they only thought he was special because they didn’t know he was actually responsible for everything that caused all those people to die to begin with. If they kill the demon child however I don’t think it’s possible for Griffith to father children with Charlotte to solidify his lineage. In short killing the child would only hinder his plans as far as his front goes, but he still has a demon army that is loyal to him and all of his strength as an apostle. And another thing that hasn’t been mentioned but is backed up by skull knights behavior that I think may turn out to be the case is that a god hand can only be killed permanently inside the abyss.

    • @ivanharris203
      @ivanharris203 Před 3 lety +2

      @@sampalace358 yeah, so if Falconia was centered around the ignorance of what Griffith did and people hold him on high, would killing his vessel come in part with the revelation that he's actually a monster so that in that revelation the residents of Falconia would be disillusioned and end up falling into chaos?
      ****spoilers for chapter 362****
      Also how do you suppose the latest chapters reveal of what is seemingly a former incarnation of the godhand and what is probably the fall of Gaiseric may tie into the future of Falconia? I've been thinking that maybe the cycle of the Godhand is that once they hit 5, there's an eventual reset back to one and repeat. So Void was the carry through from the old school and Femto is slated to be the carry through of the Godhand we know currently.

      I think that the latest chapter is foreshadowing that gutts will have to kill his child and casca may also die at that point in the story. The appearance of the Kings spouse is similar to that of Griffith/demon child and it being his woman is pointing toward casca aswell. I think that is where Femto will be exposed aswell as the demons in the neo band of hawk. With the demons fleeing to the abyss with Griffith I think that is where serpico’s behelit will come into play giving them a way into the abyss and setting the stage for it to end how it started. I don’t know how gutts and co plan on fighting hordes of demons on top of protecting all the innocent people in falconia on top of the god hand and the neo band of hawks elite apostles. I think serpico will become a demon but some how keep his will intact, remember how Zodd mentions it’s almost instinct for all of the apostles to follow Griffith/Femto so I’m at a loss on how it’ll all work gutts has a few OP mages on his side aswell though so it is possible but that’s all I’ve got

    So either Guts/Casca's child being corrupted by Femto was the plan all along, therefore confirming that Guts and Casca were supposed to live through the eclipse and give birth to the corrupted child(and therefore reinforcing the idea of causality) OR...
    The moon child was a "happy accident" that was never intended to be the vessel and will likely play a key role in how Griffith is defeated, proving that causality is something that Griffith himself may have accidentally screwed up right from the beginning of the incarnation ceremony
    I prefer the latter theory not only because it plays better thematically with the "struggler" concept, but it can even play more subtly into scenes we've already observed. For example- what if Griffith actually went to see Guts at the Band of the Hawk grave sight NOT to see if any of his humanity still remained (I mean, the dude raped Casca just to spite Guts... He already had lost his humanity as Femto), but rather to see if his accidental vessel being the child of Guts and Casca affected him in the presence of said vessel's parents. As if he were testing limits and how much control he had over his new body

      I think it's the latter, but it also proves that despite being a Godhand, Griffith is as much in the flow of causality as anyone else. The byproduct of his rape of Casca (as a result of his feelings toward Guts) ends up fusing into what would become his physical reincarnation. Unbeknownst to him until its confirmed at The Hill of Swords there will be reprecussions to this. It's the consequence of his actions that will be his undoing in the long term.
      It also shows how much Guts also influences things. The vessel wouldn't even exist if it weren't for Guts and Casca mating, and Griffith's feelings for Guts.

      I think rather that it is woven in causality that the child was to be corrupted and saved by Skull Knight. But that it was above the knowledge of Femto as he was defiling her. So he still did it out of spite. But his intentions were also subconsciously woven by the weaver that is the God Of The Abyss.
      "Unless you make the unconscious into conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate" - Carl Gustav Jung
      Such is how fate is woven, it is draped in the unknown and you think it is by your intention that it is made manifest.
      Guts being then Struggler that he is, is going through the path of individuation and will eventually break away from the collective consciousness I believe. The integration of the Beast of Darkness is one step along the path towards individuation.

    15:49 : I think the answer is right there : "...that infant that fused with my vessel." The Egg was supposed to be the blank vessel, no other physical body or baby was required. • @aymanemach
      @aymanemach Před rokem

      That could be a translation mistake. If the egg was the only thing required for Griffith to incarnate, why didn't it happen earlier? The Egg was already summoned before the God Hand and his wish was to hatch a perfect world, which as we know it involves Griffith coming back and managing the world. But why didn't he hatch the world and incarnate Griffith there and then? It was only after lots of little events brought Casca, and her child (which always tries to save her) into the tower of Albion. It can't all just be a coincidence, the God Hand have been pulling the strings. A perfect example is also how Zodd was manipulated by Griffith's vision telling him he will meet Skull Knight in Albion, and he indeed went there. And because of that, Zodd kept him busy and the Egg could escape from Skull Knight. Thus finding the child and eating it. It's all connected and it all was building up to this very moment. And we see the incarnation happens as soon as the Egg eats the baby. This literally shows the baby was the missing ingredient and the trigger of the incarnation. Also..my little theory is more of a question..
    When the egg says his wish is to hatch a perfect world...did he mean the child or Fempto? Or maybe both? I feel like his smile signifies he knows something deeper..a little nugget he may have planted to ensure HIS version “perfect world” would come to fruition.
    What if the perfect world doesn’t really involve Fempto..he’s just the one to bring into a reality

    The baby was a part of causality but not estimated by the god hand. Griffith did not require a vessel, he required another eclipse/sacrifice pool to create a vessel with the egg of the perfect world. As causality is a force yet not fully understood even by the god hand, this is a pivotal element in Griffith's undoing. They planned on the shadow eclipse to have enough energy from sacrifices to gift Femto his physical body as a new Griffith. The HUMAN emotion of pity that the egg of the perfect world felt right before he arrived at the spot he would hatch was the only flaw in the entire design. Which is a theme for any sort of god hand or apostle, the fact they still have a human element that weakens them. That baby is Femto's weakness. If that baby dies he dies, as well as if the baby is swayed by emotion Griffith's new body is too and it can even control him.

They have the ability to mimic humans, but have another physical form they transform into. They have also been designed to derive pleasure from killing humans. Genetic manipulation, basicallywar prototypes released into the general population to wreak havok and death. koontz wrote the book in 85, and did an expanded version in 87, then berserk came out as a prototype a year later. I can't help but think there's a possibility that miura maybe read it and pulled a few things from the stuff he liked.

  • @zagreus5773
    @zagreus5773 Před rokem +4

    I think the question of whether the demon child becoming the vessel of Griffith reincarnation is one of the most crucial questions of Berserk and will likely only be answered at the very end. It all comes down to whether the r**** of Casca was done simply due to emotional outburst or purposefully to conceive the demon child. I've always leaned to the latter, but recently I'm coming more and more around to the first. Apostles do not need a reason to r**** besides the feeling of power and domination that they get from it, so it is perfectly possible that this was the only reason for him to do it. I would however not say that the demon child conception or it becoming the vessel for Griffith was an accident. Miura goes to great length to make clear that there are no accidents happening in Berserk. There is the theory that the Elves and similar beings serve as a counter force to the Idea of Evil, however a very chaotic one in comparison to the planned deliberate scheming of the IoE. This counter force causing the conception would explain the elvish nature of the Moonchild. My pet theory is that through the Moonchild Griffith will gain back his humanity for a brief but crucial moment, causing him to choose a second time between his humanity or his demonform, similarly to the Count. In the last chapter written by Miura we see Griffith crying and exclaiming feeling a faint loneliness and longing for the embrace of a loved one, something that should be pretty much impossible for a Godhand or and Apostle to feel, something entirely human. And as foreshadowed with the Count, he will choose death and his own damnation in the vortex of souls, realizing the wrongfulness of his first choice. I'm sure many readers will hate this, as they love to hate Griffith and long for Guts to somehow overcome and cut him to pieces, but there is simply no way that he will not get some kind of redemption in the end. And him understanding that he made the wrong choice (even if it was hardly possible to take the right one for him imo) will mean both redemption for him and catharsis for the reader. What better punishment is there for Griffith to understand that he was wrong before fusing with the vortex of souls for all eternity?

    It makes me wonder if Griffith ever really intended on killing casca at the eclipse cause he wouldve never been reborn into the physical world without guts and casca’s baby

    My theory is that since griffith is turning into the moonlight child at the moment and is headed to elfhelm. There are two points here: 1. I think the moonlight child will be separated from griffith and griffith will loose half his power thus leaving him with half his power. 2. I think because time runs differently on elfhelm griffith will loose his kingdom or as he is gone, ricket along with the kushin will take over? Who knows but its interesting to speculate
