The Egg of The Perfect World:
i feel bad for this baby. *proceeds to eat it*

@@philswiftdestroyerofworlds1988 Phil.. it's been so long I thought you got lost in the astral plane
@@casey997 sorry.

Berserk is a weird story
Eat baby for happy
@@eradan3702 I can confirm that eating babies does infact bring happiness.
I like to think of it as the yolk
@@IYPITWL the worst part is , it somewhat makes sense
I loved that panel lol. I thought it was weirdly emotional
Guts: "Hey Griffith, what are you doing?"
Girffith: "Just making a cake, but I'm all out of eggs."
Guts: "What about this one?"
Griffith: "No! Guts stop, that's my Behel-"
**crack**
And they all lived happily ever after.
How'd that cake turn out though?
The universe fucking explodes.
Cake Femto. The be all end all of the world.
Causality says no
The Cake Hand
Damn! This dude whom was rejected and forgotten by every one wished for a better world instead of wishing something for himself, like being a king, have power or punish those that rejected him.
And because of him the demon child fused with griffith, maybe that fact will be what saves the world.
What an interesting character
@@JoanWhack This is absolute irony at it's peak!
In a way, he couldn't because he had nothing to sacrifice in order to get something to himself.
@@osokratos Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life.
from his birth, he likely havent known the existence of kings, and likely didnt had chance to grow a desire for power & wealth
everyone he knew were all refugees, all of them suffer no less than him; he might even saw those who had rejected him suffered later, so he felt no personal contempt against them, only pity
the world to him is ugly and full of suffering, and he only had himself left to love
in the end, maybe only a person that at low can harbour such great selflessness
Makes me wish he'd survived. Seemed like an alright bloke, especially by apostle standards
yh he really was just an alright dude
What makes the egg interesting that it didn't act on a simple desire on depravity like most apostles. Even Zodd, who is a saner apostle, lives to fight and easily loses himself in a heat of battle despite he is perfectly okay with acting normal.
The Egg has a goal, a selfless one, and arguably born from both bitterness of being ignored and out of altruism that it didn't want anyone to have a sad, lonely life it had.
Out of every apostle we have met, I like this one the most. Sadly he’s gone.
Bloke
he just wants a perfect world
the slow revelation of the Egg is some of the best story telling that you can only find in berserk.

A truly tragic character... revealed bit by bit as the story progressed.
Berserk's one of the best written manga stories, hands down.
easily among the best manga of all time.
This and vagabond are beautiful
Berserk have one of the most well written storyline and the greatest artworks in manga, it's crazy just how much quality there is in Berserk. A masterpiece, indeed.

Bright side, you’re you g enough that you MIGHT live long enough to see the end of the next arc. I wouldn’t hold my breathe on seeing the end of the story though. You’d probably have to be born 2 decades from now for that.
@@edwardgaines6561 had 350 chapters all at once, best 5 days of my life
The apostle took form as a Behelit and initially I was very confused. Then, you mentioned that the Egg of the Perfect World acted as a transportation from astral being to the physical world and all of it just makes sense.
Behelits serve as tools to grant their owners' wish but the Egg of the Perfect World was willing to erase its existence and become the tool itself, forming a medium for Griffith to realize the better world. Thank you for making me appreciate the story more.
A behelit doesn't grant wishes, that would be Genie from Aladdin

@@melvinklark4088 Well yeah, by episode three Pico and Chico died. Their ghosts / spirits bound to some themepark town and being terrorised by a Fox Yokai who tried to separate them.
@@inversenexarus9152 the molestation and child pornographic aspect isn't what bothers you? Just the fact they die?
@@iwannabethekid34xc What molestation? You can't molest the willing. For example in Dragon Maid, Shotaru is being groomed, Pico isn't. As for the CP accusation -they are drawn-.
@@inversenexarus9152 Oh.. I see, you're one of *those people*. What a shame.
Listen, pal, you might not see it, but those of us who grew up and developed a conscience and a moral compass to differentiate right from wrong, can clearly see that such animation is a tremendous wicked influence on both Asian and Western culture. It needs to be abolished entirely. I am serious. If I ever, God forbid, gain political authority of any measure, that will be one of my first actions. Because I refuse to let such wicked animated cancer taint those that I would govern responsibly. If you fail to see why this is cancer, I have terrible news for you.
I think it's interesting that while most of the other apostles we see all have an animal associated with them, the Egg Of The Perfect World is just a behelit. No flashy animal-like monster form like Zodd or Rosine. I think that's because the behelit was all the Egg ever knew of the outside world before becoming an apostle.
The egg has like an yin-yang phylosophy, he acepts what he understands as evil "the god hand, being an apostle, etc" in order to bring something he understands as good "a new perfect world"
Unlike most apostles, the Egg of the Perfect World was very self-effacing and down on himself, even as an ascended being. Think Charlie Brown, but with tentacles. His perfect world would be Charlie finally kicking for football. 🏈 🌎
He did on family guy
@@johnlawful2272 Yes. It was a beautiful thing!
When someone ask about your life you just say "let's just say I was close to getting a behelit."
Is in seeing these types of characters is how you realize how good of a writer Miura is, besides a great artist in the technical sense.
The egg of the perfect world is such a tragic character :(
When Miura can make an egg with the legs of a frog a deep and sympathetic character, you know he's got talent.
let's not even talk about his over the top character and most likely the most important existence for the lore and it even match his looks haha. Miura is crazy
"To make a Secondary World inside which the green sun will be credible, commanding Secondary Belief, will probably require labour and thought, and will certainly demand a special skill, a kind of elvish craft. Few attempt such difficult tasks. But when they are attempted and in any degree accomplished then we have a rare achievement of Art: indeed narrative art, story-making in its primary and most potent mode."
- J.R.R. Tolkien
The Egg of the Perfect World is one of the most sympathetic characters in the story. It's kind of sad to think in universe, he's in the abyssal plain being tormented, given that he didn't sacrifice anyone and just wanted to make the world a better place.
Yeah. I agree with Luca - he may have committed many atrocities but he wasn't evil and was much a victim of circumstance and of the fate the Godhand planned for him. I felt he could have been saved had their been someone to look out for him.
I didn't even have to watch the video to drop the like. I saw "The egg of the perfect world" and thought to myself "how could anyone not think of this as the greatest manga of all time" while smashing that like button.
Just the fact he was imagined is definitely incredible. Miura was the goat
Monster summed up in a couple words:
“ egg wants to bring world peace”
This is definitely my favorite apostle. Its the most unique imo
once cracked, it may create the omlette of the perfect world.

Probably the most underrated Apostle in Berserk. Without him, Griffith wouldn't be rebirthed/given a body and given Guts motivation in revenge.
Thank you for explaining this. I've been trying to understand the Egg and his true roll for years. Thanks for explaining Femto's entrance into the physical world as well. 😄
A big F for my boy The Egg of the perfect world, or as I like to call him: "Nobody"
All he wanted was a better world and to everybody to live a better life
This character also left me with alot of questions thanks for the explanation!
One thing i enjoy about stories like berserk is that they give you room to think and try to put the pieces together. You are confident the world Miura created is consistent enough that things will make sense if you think about them long enough
The same cannot be said about most media out there
You always seem to post a video right when I need a disconnect. That and I enjoy your editing skills & the berserk images. Thank you for never ceasing to be a badass my good sir.
Aww HELLZ YEAH! I had suggested an "Egg of the Perfect World Monster Manual" Idea about a Month or so ago. So I'm going to pretend Causality made you Look, Just BRIEFLY, at the comments... Void And Skull knight sure can teach us A LOT! THANKS RYAN! YOU ROCK OUT WITH YOUR DRGONSLAYER OUT!
He had such a depressing backstory
woah, I just got done finished reading this part and it was recommended to me :0 tysm
The Egg of the Perfect world transforms those it pierces into their idealized selves they want to be. Mozgus and his men into angels, and the guy worshiping a goat demon god into... a goat demon. What he transforms the into doesn't make them "evil" either. Mozgus and his men stills aw themselves as saviors and the goat demon still saw himself as... a goat demon.
This channel is so underrated
Despite nobody love and need him he still friendly talk to Luka, and he turn into the most kind Apostle (in a way, he never directly cause other harm)
The entire world did such cured to him he chose to sacrifice himself to give a better world...
(Well technically all the people who put him in the bottom of the body pit, so it's hard to say)
This really helped make sense of things thank you ! I found it ironic how the living being considered the least human ended up having the most humanity. Also ironic how its good intention of wanting a perfect world provides a pivotal progression for the force of evil that is Femto.
I feel that further drives home the point of fate ultimately deciding what happens since you think essentially a free wish to make the world a better place would counter the evil but somehow manages to encourage it.
This is such a heartbreaking yet wholesome and... hopeful? story, it's nearly a perfect macrocosm of Berserk
I've never watched berserk but I've been watching a couple of these vids and the stories and artstyle is just insane.
How well animated is the series because I'm not a big manga guy?
Its pretty good in my opinion but its definitely better than the revamp which basically turned the events of the series into 3 movies in some hideous CGI type deal.... BUT even if your not a Manga guy you should read it because even the anime leaves a shitload of story out.

Pretty sure the egg isn’t the opposite, just that it was more powerful and instead of taking somebody to the astral plane, it took the entire world to the astral plane.
Nah, that will be the Great Roar. The Egg only brought Griffith since he's the only one who can bring that world about
Can’t wait to get the Egg of the Perfect World, it comes with the Skull Knight statue from *Prime1Studios.* They look so cool, it’s the first big statue I’ve ever bought.

Dude thank you I've read up to volume 34 but I was always kinds confused about the egg and that whole arc
Im a bit ashamed to admit that I didnt get the Egg of the Perfect World in my first reading. Your analysis helped me look at the whole Arc under a new light, and I learned to appreciate the story so much more.
I think most people got a bit lost on the part with the baby and the egg bringing Griffith back into the physical world.
Same
Me too! I don't read manga much
The conviction arc is so fucking good
Good content overall. I think the nameless character didn’t have anyone dear to him to sacrifice so he opted to give his own life to be the catalyst for Femto coming back as Griffith in the physical world. Both the egg of the new world and the fetus monster from the astral world fusing to give Griffith his split personalities and affecting the pursuit of demons whenever he’s around
Griffith is like an Antichrist
Great video and a very thought out narration. Good work , keep it up Ryan.
It's a great story/bio for an interesting character

2:17 I feel you bro. I made peace with it
so griffith never truly needed to corrupt casca’s child, bc he would be brought to the world anyways?
Griffith did this to Casca out of jealousy and as a way to get revenge against Guts. No one, not even the Godhand realized that it will have such repercussions as we have seen in the manga. Spoiler alert:
The Moonlight Boy is essentially Guts and Casca's child, but reborn in Griffith's body. It affects his judgement and his behaviour to a very small but noticeable extent. I assume that as the manga continues after Miura's passing it will be more fleshed out.
this video is so well made overall
I want to give a hug to this egg, made me so sad reading about its life in the manga...
"Egg of the perfect world?"
Egg of the perfect omelet.
I'm starving.
You know,
given how deep the hole that The Egg used to live in was, and how eventually the bodies formed a sea of death at the base of the Tower of Conviction...
....how MANY people died!?
Probably 6
@@Yourmom-cx8fw thanks mom
Ryan: we're going to be taking a look at a very important question many have asked.
the question: who is your daddy, and what does he do ?
Hmmm, now that I think about it, Miyazak the Demon Souls director took inspiration from Berserk as we all know. The Maiden Astrea has a similar philosophy to the Egg Of The Perfect World, both sacrificed their humanity in order to obtain some sort of demonic/apostle power in order to bring good into their current world. The Egg a new perfect world and the Maiden to help the lost forgotten and decrepit.
I have no idea why this was recommended to me
But I like it
Interesting how the egg of the perfect world has a brand of sacrifice, i wonder if he is treated as an apostle among other apostles or is hunted because of it
I love these videos
I've been watching a lot of NorthernLion, a streamer named Ryan who is frequently nicknamed Egg..
10:54 I definitely don't want that in my life
One of the best and only anime I have read and watched.
I don't know what I like more the beginning where there are only humans or the world that is under humans and comes to the surface.
It is so relatable to why religion exists.
Humans more believing in a dream than in reality before them
Definitely one of the interesting Apostles. Nice write up as always.
I love these videos so much lbdas
“I know you’ve been here before” got me FUCKED UP 😳
thanks mehn, when i read it some yrs back i didn't understand. makes sense now
This was a very good video.
"besides that being a scary look into my potential future" LOL
great content bro!
Hey Ryan! Love the content! I just wanted to comment on a bit of a revelation I had about the God Hand's plan, the need for the cultivation of the darkness of humanity out of necessity to allow Griffith to enter it as a messianic figure, and the "good" that Falconia brings. It's very similar actually to that of Frank Herbert's "Golden Path" and the character Leto The Second; who forced humanities stagnation and had horrible religious acts committed in his name to ensure they not only survive but thrive as a species. Was curious if you made this connection and if not, what your thoughts on it are?
Just got done reading the conviction arc! Not as good as the golden age but it was still great.
All the way from the pilot baybeeeeeee!!!
The perfect world; that beautiful impossibility which we all hope for, but most paths in pursuit of it chosen before run red with the blood of hundreds of millions. The light dangling before dystopia's iron jaws.

One thing i have pondered about the egg of the perfect world is this, how was he “himself” accepted as a sacrifice? What i mean is this, from the way i understand things a “sacrifice” must be someone, or people of importance to you, you must care about them - hence stripping away your humanity when you sacrifice them. The unnamed man was unloved by society, he merely existed in his hole, getting crushed, waiting to die. The backstory makes me feel like he didnt even love or care for his own existence, therefore how was his sacrifice of himself even accepted? Am i going too deep with this?
I probably am lol
I think for him, the conventional rules don't quite apply. You're right that he really had no humanity of his own to strip away. He was a very specific case
Well, for peoples like that, despised, never appreciated, never loved, the only thing that is possibly deemed important is the I and that would be totally worthy sacrifice.
I think it's almost the opposite. he gave up his apathy and it left him with humanity, in a kind of yin yang type of fashion
Just listening to the music brings me back into the depths of the Berserk world. It should be considered a masterpiece.
Would Griffith have a physical body if the Egg didnt swallow the demon fetus? Or would he have a weird specter presence in the physical world only at least at first? Kind of like Voldemort in the first Harry Potter.
Key character, in line with not casual casca rape. God him self arranged destiny of this creature in order to be griffith vessel into real world
..why am i crying.
I'm happy that I subscribed to this perfect world. Thank you, Ryan.

Good reason to subscribe 🤣🤣
The egg itself is the sacrifice for Femto to arrive.
He has the sacrifice mark on its tongue too be devoured by the strongest being he could ask for,
one of the Godhand himself
I just hope elden ring will have locations like this
Misshapen babe is my favorite phrase to ever be said
People say that Guts has the most shitty life, for me Egg didn't have a single life, before and after becoming an apostle he didn't have family, friends, people around him something that Guts had regardless of what this apostle does for the least match the protagonist in this regard.
any thoughts on the behelit the egg picks up being red? yeh yeh i know the manga has no colour, just what would it imply if it were the canon colour. same question could go for the sword of activation
Something I've always wondered is the bheilit Guts has. Who is it ment for, because I'm confident Guts wouldn't use it. Maybe some in the group.......maybe Casca???
patiently waiting for my invitation
Wow
Honestly it brings into question the end game of the apostles and the idea of evil. Is it truely a bad thing what the egg did, or the apostles letting femto assume the roll of massiah? Whats the consequences aside from damage to the world tree caused due to the merging?
Is the end game of the idea of evil is to sacrifice existence (all planes, being easier now all is now one plane for the most part) to cause some ultimate end to fullfill the needs of the collective conscious of humanity? Idk. Thinking about it keeps me up at night.
World of tree can awakening all mystical creature but Fento decision really fck dangerous, because there turn world to become world monster
The egg of the perfect world is a handsome boy once his face arranges properly.
Fucking love this channel
