No more castle visiting

You wanna know what’s funny, Fates *almost* could’ve still been possible to have a completed save file (minus dlc). Thanks to streetpass, you could purchase a copy of Birthright and Conquest individually and have them connect so you could visit their castle's to get their respective items/units. You wouldn’t even have to worry about getting different items, as they switch each time you start a new save file from the beginning (if you'll commit to 7 chapters over and over again).
It was this close, but then I remembered you needed to have internet access to update your castle, which allows for you to be active in the first place. I might be wrong, it may be possible without an update, but it seems as if it’s truly impossible legally if you didn’t do the grind until yesterday….
