- Spanish police say they are doing everything possible to find a missing British teenager lost in Tenerife.
Clio O'Flynn is a journalist from the island, who says the search for Jay Slater is becoming "more intense".

Don't blame the local Police or the locals, they are the ones out there looking for him in the scorching heat.
19 years old used to living at home, drunk, alone, doesn't speak the language, mobile phone on 1% battery, desoriented in a place he's not familiar with - what could possibly go wrong? Absolutely everything and it did. When I grew up our mothers always told us to whatever happens always stay together, never leave a friend alone, it could prevent a crime or even save a life.

He shouldn't have been on holiday in the first place. He should have been sat in his prison cell. Community service for what he did is disgraceful.

Weird how these same media outlets all reprorted the machete attack at the time now its not mentioned at all
The gang showed no remorse and all laughed in court, according to reports. They got community service and instead of jail time.

Drink, drugs, no sleep, no water, no phone battery, heat and an 11hr walk in mountains is not a good combination.
That’s if he ever left that accommodation he was took too .

Jay, along with 7 other lads, murdered a young boy called Tom Hilton in a group assault and they only received community service.

Tom Hilton, who was 17 at the time of the attack, suffered a head injury so serious his skull was exposed, and wounds to his shoulders and legs in the attack close to the Old Paper Mill in Hermitage Street, Rishton, in August 2021.

One hell of a death sentence, but it's deeply ironic if that is what ultimately turns out to have happened. Be interesting what happens in next hours and days.

I have a feeling this is drug related and he messed with the wrong people on that island.
Strange that he got a lift from the music event to the strangers house, then left to get a bus and when he missed the bus , he chose to walk 11 hours at night instead of returning to the house to charge his phone , get a drink and arrange transport. Sounds like he was kicked out of the house.

I do not believe for one second he thought that it was a good idea to walk back with no water or battery , no matter how intoxicated he was (I’ve been there) I believe he had no choice. The bus stop is literally right outside the house and when he called his friend Lucy he was already 30mins away from the house. He was fleeing something

Im confused. Their friend said he took a ride with strangers. Then another said he left the apartment for a walk. Now he decided to walk home from a night out.
Terrible when something like this happens people say all sorts , sending police on a wild goose chase .

From what I've gathered, it seems like he made friends with two men at the rave. Jay's other friends went back to their accommodation and Jay decided to go with the two men to their Airbnb accommodation. He left the Airbnb in the morning and decided to try and get back to the apartment on the coast where his friends that he came to Tenerife with.

He went back to someone’s hotel/apartment/villa. Which he knew was nowhere near his accommodation, only stayed a short time ? Most young people crash out and sleep for hours.

He went missing the morning after that. He went to an apartment with 2 men he'd met at a club in the white car and it was when he left the apartment the next morning he vanished.

The girl he went on holiday with apparently found the apartment, don’t ask me how , and they said he left to get the bus home , which was next to there apartment and ran every ten minutes, something fishy here , yet the cops haven’t mentioned the two men at all

Something is telling me they already know...that he is gone...and the whole search is just to buy them some time...
The terrain is the same for as far as the eyes can see. Staying on the main road, would have guided him safely back to town, or he could have possibly hitched a ride down that mountain.
Hopefully Lucy can keep coming forward with all helpful information needed
Don't forget her efforts to raise thousands of £ to help with the search,when no one is charging any money at all for all the hard work and resources the authorities are throwing at this search,so why does she need to raise money ?

Seriously this is sadly another Dr Mosley, it gets really cold at night at very hot in the day. he could have easily slipped on a path and fell and could be found still alive but unconscious. please hope he is found still alive. People just dont understand how hot it can be in these places. Nothing sinister, just decided he didnt want to wait for a bus and got lost.

An 11 hour walk is not easy in itself, but across ground like that, in that heat with no food, drink or obvious shelter is not a decision to be taken lightly
