    Today we are looking at comparing the ruger american gen2 versus franchi momentum. both chambered in 6.5 creedmoor.
    the question i have is, which one is the best of the two rifles. And who comes out on top?
    we had alot of questions to ask on this review, and were very surprised with the answers.
    And we think that you will be too.
    Info from Ruger:
    Splatter finished stock provides excellent grip without being too sharp or abrasive.
    Soft rubber recoil pad features a large radius on the heel for easy shouldering and improved geometry that progressively collapses to reduce felt recoil.
    Removing the installed spacer allows for length of pull to be adjusted from 13.75" to 12". Additional spacers of varying sizes for a more refined fit are available at ShopRuger.com.
    Installed low comb improves sight alignment when using magnified optics but can be removed when utilizing low-mounted sights. More comb options are available at ShopRuger.com to further refine the fit.
    Professionally applied Cerakote coating on barrel, muzzle brake, receiver and bolt handle results in a durable, easy-to-maintain finish.
    Medium contour barrel features deep spiral flutes that reduce weight at the muzzle end of the barrel to improve balance without sacrificing stiffness or accuracy.
    Threaded barrel with factory-installed radial port muzzle brake is cold hammer-forged, resulting in ultra-precise rifling that provides exceptional accuracy and longevity.
    Intuitive three-position tang safety locks the bolt, preventing inadvertent bolt opening while allowing the rifle to be loaded with the safety engaged.
    Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger offers a crisp release with a pull weight that is user-adjustable between 3 and 5 pounds.
    Patented Power Bedding™ integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for outstanding accuracy.
    The one-piece bolt is CNC machined from stainless steel for smooth operation and the familiar three-lug design with 70° throw provides ample scope clearance.
    Oversized bolt handle for positive bolt manipulation, with a 5/16"-24 thread pattern for easy replacement.
    Factory-installed, one-piece Picatinny scope base.
    Available accessory stock weight kit adds up to 1.6 pounds to the butt of the rifle to absorb recoil and improve the rifle's balance when utilizing heavier muzzle devices. Weight kit available on ShopRuger.com.
    Also includes: one magazine; steel sling swivel studs.
    Info from Franchi:
    The feature-rich Momentum represents the cutting edge of hunting rifle technology and performance. Ergonomic, light and fast-handling, its accuracy-enhancing, free-floating, coldhammer-forged barrel is threaded to accept a muzzle brake or suppressor (not included). Enjoy 1-MOA accuracy with premium factory ammunition. The bolt has a short 60-degree throw for fast cycling. A TSA recoil pad reduces felt recoil up to 50 percent. the single-stage trigger adjusts 2 to 4 lbs. Momentum takes the same scope bases as the Remington model 700 (two piece bases only).

    Thanks for the video. I have the Franchi (Elite) and honestly I think they dont get enough credit for the quality and value you get in a hunting rifle. Its a hunting rifle, I will accuracy everytime and spend a little more on the optics.

    I have a Momentum in .308. The trigger is great, I have no issues with it. What I don't care for is the stock, there is quite a bit of flex in the forend. There also aren' t many options to replace it. The barrel is free float, but the flex can cause the barrel to touch the stock in certain situations. Accuracy is great, the action is smooth. I don't care that it didn't come with a pic rail since it takes 700 pattern rings & I can get as close to the bore as possible with that setup. I don't like that it didn't come with a brake, which was another $80. Overall, though, it's a great value for the money. You are basically getting an accurate, reliable hunting rifle that you won't care if you ding it up from the oldest gun manufacturer in the world (Beretta).

      i myself dont care about a brake. the accuracy is great. but no pic rail and a sloppy trigger is a problem. thanks for the comment and please dont forget to subscribe. thanks again!

    I’d like to handle the Franchi, but I’ve literally never seen one in a gun store. I’ve seen Ruger Americans in every store I frequent. Great video

    I have the Franchi elite in .308 and have only had the chance to hold a gen2. The trigger in mine is real crisp and breaks sharp, the RA in the gunshop had a whole lot of creep to the point the workers said he would have to swap/upgrade its trigger. As said mine is the elite so maybe that's the difference, how ever the Franchi has a 7yr warranty on moving parts so maybe you could swap.

    • @UltimateArms
      @UltimateArms  Před 17 dny +1

      that could be true from the elite to this one. but the franchi in canada with the warranty is a probem!

      @@UltimateArms In Australia Barreta has probally one of the best warranties in the market. I find the Franchi shoulder well for me and wieght distribution is spot on for a stalker rifle. How did you find the Ruger

    • @UltimateArms
      @UltimateArms  Před 17 dny +1

      @@bennonlapworth5026 i like the way it shoots. i also like i can add weight to the butt of the rifle to balance it more if i want, and adjust the length of pull and the comb. but the franchi does shoot a little better through. both are good rifles, but i still like the ruger!.

    I would also go with the Ruger overall. I've seen other reviews where I've seen the new ruger american gen 2's are very ammo picky. WTW did one on a ranch and shot a bunch of ammo that was not grouping all that great and he found a round that was dead on.
    I suspect with the rugers it seems you have to do more searching to see what it likes. If you're a handloader though you'll likely be able to make both guns shoot lights out.
