  • Ktm 250 exc 2 stroke, i usually run the yellow medium standard spring, its fine makes good power but i wanted to try the red spring, its snaps in the power-band a lot sooner and harder, i like it so ill keep it in for the time being. i also want to point out that no speeding was in this video and no laws was broken. the footage was enhanced and speed up to make it look that way... ;)

selludeddu thanks for the comment, yeah it's hard to show the difference on video but you can definitely feel the difference, it makes the bike more snappy but you get used to it

Good vid. Seems angrier! I’ve just bought a red spring to swap for the yellow on my 09 250 exc. Did you adjust the preload screw on the power valve cover?

Daveyboy no I didn't adjust the preload, that's more fine tuning. You could probably get it a little more crazy if you did but I was happy with the results already haha

Cheers dude. Would of enjoyed seeing it go from a green spring to a red haha #lethal I'll have a play with mine, not fitted it yet and I cant ride on road, so it's not easy testing and setting it up

Daveyboy Ahh that's true, what kind of off road do you do? Red spring really snapped the power band on and breaks traction easy off road, it will be fine but just learning curve haha

I just bought a 2001 ktm 200 exc and I know how to adjust the power valve. But how do I replace the powervalve spring??

On the part that you adjust, it had two bolts holding that part on, if you take those out and pull the cover off, the spring is inside. I just bought a new pack of three and replaced mine with the red one and put it back together
