Anybody remember that Good Times episode when JJ had to go get tested because his girlfriend had VD?
Mary Ann Thomas? Sweet little Mary Ann Thomas? Oooooh ooh! 😂😂😂
@@nesoldier74 😂😂😂😂😂
Yeap lol I do lolololololololol
That's the first thing I thought of. Dayum, dayum!
Die? No! Might!
Is this how they promoted Veneral Disease awareness back in the day😳
Yes, yes it was.
@@QuizmasterLaw 😳😳😳
Tell A Vision
My thoughts exactly...it seems to whimsical & happy of a song to be talking about something as serious as VD.
😳😢😟🤣😂
Everyone in the commercial is so giddy about having a dose of VD.
I don't think they knew...
You know what they say, "Its for everybody!".
They hadn't caught it
😅😅 lawd.. I wasn't born until 75, but I remember the man who did the voiceover at the end.. he was on a lot of movie trailers back in the day and used to scare the shit outta me when he'd start speaking 😬 I wasn't expecting to hear him on this.. now I'm scared of VD all over again 😏😂
lol)))
😄
😅. That guys voice was on zillions of PSAs in the 70's. TV and AM radio.
I love that voice, reminds me of home. 😒 the best of times. Who knew that it gets NO better than those days? After the 80’s it’s a wrap folks. The 90’s was the fade out, stage left...
@@BillyBatsonMarvel never been the same since.😱
Lmaooooo that episode of Good Times where that girl told JJ she had VD & that he gave it to her!! 😭😭 Everytime I see anything VD related that pops up in my head
The point was that VD didn't and doesn't discriminate by race, age, class, or looks.
Yeah but I feel bad for all the folks in that commercial if they didn't tell them what they were going to be in. Like that episode of Friends where Joey ends up on a VD poster and all the women are avoiding him.
@@Billkwando Funny enough, I met a woman, an actress, and attempted to date her. The day after our first phone convo I go into my local pizza parlor and she's on an ad for HIV awareness... I was definitely taken aback! LOL (We never went out, but not because of the ad).
I was only a kid but I remember this commercial, lol!!
If you’re for everybody, VD is for you!😂
Teach the people. How else will they know?
Damn I had to look this one up... VD, I’m a 83 baby lol
Were they serious with the song?!?
Yes.
Yup!
I remember this from my school days. It was such a catchy tune that the kids used to sing it!
😆😩
Veeeeeee Deeeeeee 🎵
They had a plan before they had a plan, and look at the world now, we accepted it then and we're accepting it now.
I'm not accepting it! Nope. Not at all.
@@ericperson56 Me either, im with you, im just saying most our people are, not all of us.
Stay woke King💪💪.Keep talking that talk
Oh wow, I'm gonna go out and get some right now!
Talk to your doctor about VD today!🤣🤣🤣
SIS! This is legit my favorite advert i came across this when i was 16 and im 19 now but idc this song slaps😍
Aaaawwwww👶👶
This was one of my favorite commercials growing up. It's so sweet about something unpleasant and of course it's true
I like the "catchy" theme get it VD u can catch it 🤣🤣
TOUGH CROWD, TOUGH CROWD...
I have always heard sharing is caring. LOL if you really care about someone it's good to give them a special gift
You see they have the Sister in slow motion at the end, emphasizing Blacks.
Aww I thought they were just giving us an extra look 'cause she's so pretty.
Really beautiful pic of VD.
😂🤣😂
🤣🤣🤣
Like really nice commercial just beautiful.
When I lived in beautiful, gorgeous and beloved Levittown, Long Island during my boyhood, this 1969 VD is for everybody P.S.A. ad was super awesome, it was used during the early 1970's as well in my area!!
One of if not my favorite channels on CZcams 🙌🏾
No Joke
Ps Much Gratitude for sharing this archive
God I love the low creepy voice and the static noise in these 70's ads.
I love your videos❤️
This commercial used to sound so sad and depressing
I miss the 70s 🕺...but no to V D guys.🥵
Got anything on Jock Itch?
🙉
🤣🤣
Blue Star Ointment! 🤣🤣🤣
@@Billkwando lmao !!!
😂 Everybody except me 😷🤣
I wasn't quite sexually active at 10 years old in 1969 but I'm proud to say I made it through life without getting a venereal disease. 💘
Don't give up! There's still time!
@@Billkwando Thanks for your moral support. 😊
@@Tiberius291 People helping people. ;)
Back when they had real commercials, I love it.
Wtf!!! This was FANTASTIC!!! 😳
The only thing given for free.
See the "VD gets around" commercial kept it 💯. This commercial makes it sounds romantic 😳
The ad shows that normal decent folks can catch a dose. I was 6 years old when this ad came out , I remember liking it but not having clue what is was about.
I remember this commercial. I had no clue what VD was, I was maybe 7 or 8 years old, and my mom said "You don't want to know". lol
Lolol 🤭😭‼️
Is there any way you can find the 1974 movie Claudine with James Earl Jones and Diahann Carroll?
my step-mom was Virginia Duncan, VD, and just as toxic.
Looks Nineteen sixtyish. I'm old enough to remember what 1960s music sounded like.
LOL I saw this on The Oddity Archive! XD
WOW LOL
Okay, who's here after seeing the Tisha Campbell clip from The Real?
It's crazy how they look in the camera cause u know they got it lol
Oh, wow.😂
Just gorgeous!
Is it too late to add when JJ had to go to the clinic?
😄
Aint we lucky we got 'em?
@@Billkwando 😂😂
Valentine's Day IS for everybody.
Oh, VD seems so acceptable. I'm going to throw away my penicillin.
Everybody but me.
I wonder who sings this catchy song.
11 years before I was born...lol
Thank God
Sounds like Angela Bofill on vocals🤔🤩🥳
Unbelievable how many people in these comments totally misconstrued the intent of the ad🙄
😢🤪
UAUUIUUU
LINDA MÚSICA
BOA NOITE
I'ma pass on the VD please and thank you
HAAA LOL. epic commercial.
Wow, that wonderful fornication blessing it just gets better and better but ok all of you that do it is soo right.
Lol its like they’re saying go out and GET VD! Yay 🥳😂
Did Madonna sing this ??? kidding of course.
Oh dear!
They make it look fun i almost wanted some
🤣😂
Everyone in this video has VD!
So getting vd is fun???
IT'S FOR EVERRRRYONE !! 🤣🤣
Crazy commercial!
Trust BUT verify!
You deserve a small trophy for that one. 🤣
I remember that! lol
Lol yeah
Please Share, not VD the video 😂
Back when commercials had one black person in it and the rest were all white smh
were they really trying to normalize venereal disease?
Right🤷🏽♀️
No. They were trying to normalize getting tested.
Seems like, in a sick kind of way
They were trying to say that anyone could have it, no matter how attractive. Basically trying to scare you away from hot people and steer you toward less attractive folks who've had less opportunity to catch VD (ok I made that 2nd part up)
VD- 19 lock-downs coming ... 😢😢😲
😆😆😅😅😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is (or was) a PROBLEM. The catchy song, makes you curious about VD. Society has evolved the last 52 years, bust just WHY?! What were they thinking , catchy song & catchy issue. 😳
1979 video
Wow! Makes me feel real good about VD! Is that... a GOOD thing? 🤔😫
Not sure about 1969
What's the point to this commercial ?
To remind people anyone can get it and to encourage them to get information about it.
Before these ad campaigns people were too ashamed to even talk about or mention VD in any kind of setting, so if anyone contracted it, or thought they contracted it......stayed silent and didn't ask for help. Commercials like these got more people to talk about VD, got high school students to ask information about if they thought they got it. Same with AIDS, is it better to have people completely silent and never mentioning it, even those who might have it? Or is it better to get people to start talking about it?
I have jock itch... in case anyone cares 😷
@@amarreder6241 There was a commercial for THAT too😁
Ain't for Me
TF!?😳 no thank you!
🤣
😂😂😂😂😂 hold on there was a VD commercial saying it’s for everybody, everybody can get it wth….is VD gonorrhea?
💀💀😂
😂😂😂
By mistake on purpose! LMAO
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT
🤔D.D is not VD...get it right
I was born in '69
AIDS 0.1
What the heck is going on here 😧
You took the words right out of my mouth 🙃
loll)))
🤣🤣
WTF
Eeeewww
What this have to do with Black people?
The channel is called reelblack, so they like to highlight black folks on film in whatever form (even a VD commercial). That's the impression I get. I don't think you saw many on TV in the 60's, minus the very notable exception of Nichelle Nichols.
@@Billkwando Ok,thinks for giving me your perspective on this advertisement. The first time I heard of VD is when I saw a episode of Good Times as a child. I think J J had it and I remember saying to myself, why their trying to make this serious issue funny for the audience🤔. As a child, that episode was very disturbing to me,that and the white Jesus episode.
@@TheJayblaze3 Yup! Me too! We've been making some dy-no-mite Good Times jokes in some of the other replies! :)
