She is amazing carver, world class axe skills. A lot of us carve spoons cuz it brings us a quiet mind and for some it helps anxiety her voice also seems to massively be calming while I'm doing a calming activity
Sincerely appreciate your kind words and indeed, Andreea is a very skilled carver who comes across well on video. Take care my friend and happy carving ~Peace~
Can’t tell you how much time I have repeatedly listened to her talking on Zeds video while I try to carve something unrelated.
Zed and Andreea thanks ever so much for this step by steep video. I was asked by the Chief on Munsee-Deleware Nations (reserve) to teach them how to do everything that was taken from them ..Such as How to paddle a canoe, making a paddle, Brain tanning deer hides involving them in some projects working with Canadian Wildlife services to count nesting sites of swallows and we now have a great video to do spoons. Thanks everyone, Barry Callow, Senior Environmental Coordinator for Munsee-Delaware Nation. Ontario,Canada.
Hi Barry, I sincerely appreciate your kind words and am chuffed to hear you found this video useful. The project and work you are undertaking in Canada sounds amazing, I hope I have the ability and resources one day to document the first nations in Canada and USA ~Peace~
She is the most talented I’ve seen in carving wow what a Blessing
Appreciate you watching and worth checking out the other videos i did with her on my channel ~Peace~

She's an artist and incredibly generous with her knowledge. I have rarely seen anyone explain so painstakingly every move and micro decision! Please have your own channel/courses Andrea.

Another brilliant video, many thanks Zed and Andreea
Appreciate the kind words and for watching my man ~Peace~
Brilliant tutorial, particularly the points about pencilling in for the bowl dimensions and tips on using a standard hook knife for small and deep bowls. Thanks Zed and Andrea!
You are very kind thank you ~Peace~
My dad was so talented with woodwork growing up. Thank you for the reminder and the inspiration to try it myself. Beautiful work by a beautiful soul.
It's wonderful to hear about your father, that generation were truly special ~Peace~
Thanks for the video and thanks for sharing these amazing skills!
Sincerely appreciate your kind words and for watching ~Peace~
As always Andreea’s technique and explanations are fantastic. Especially how she generates a powerful carve using leverage, I’m trying to use more of that to ease my painful joints! I’ve made 2 similar scoops. The first is very slender with a thin bowl - but in fact too thin and developed a circular crack on the inside of the bowl where the handle joins. superglue fixed it but the second one I made a little thicker and splayed the handle to bowl join. It doesn’t look as elegant but will last.
Top tip in the video is to shape oval across the bowl so that it pulls in circular as the wood dries.
Great content Zed. Keep it up!
Appreciate the kind words Dave and chuffed to hear you found this video useful ~Peace~
Thanks to both of you 👍
You are very kind thank you ~Peace~

Very accurate axework and also wonderful choice of wood/layout. Would love to see it oiled :)
Thank you kindly, because it had to be dried before oiling we were unable to show it oiled on this video ~Peace~
@@Zedoutdoors yeah, thought so. Great job to you as well, just watched a few of your videos, you really meet some skilled and cool people and manage to catch a lot of knowledge and experience. Already learned a lot.
Watched it all when I was in the hospital and unable to carve. Amazing and frustrating at the same time! Andreea is a fabulous carver ✨🪓 very inspiring and with a thought to back it.
Sincerely appreciate the kind words and hope your hospital stay was not something too serious! sending you lots of healing vibes ~Peace~
Zed I got to try that next but ain't that Debra's house ? 👍🦊🐾🇮🇹
Haha A conspiracy in the carving world
@@DoubleDowner could be who knows it's a secret don't tell anyone 👍🦊🐾
Indeed yes thats Deborahs house who kindly let us use it for filming! Best of luck giving this project a go and do let me know how you get on ~Peace~
@@Zedoutdoors my memory aint good after accident but I has a photograph memory for some things I thought something familiar about location was very nice of Debra to loan use her house 👍🦊🐾🇮🇹🍀
The tip 1:17:00 ish is great. This is exactly what I'm missing (with spoons), they end up OK, but I have not yet had a conscious idea. Thanks!
(yeah, I'm a beginner, but carving /whittling is fun!)
Chuffed to hear you found this video useful and happy carving! ~Peace~
An amazing axe work! I feel like I should invest some $ into getting a good quality carving axe and a chopping block.
A basic carving axe will work just fine, however investing in a good quality one is always worthwhile ~Peace~
Inspired me to make one today at the Norfolk Bodgers meeting. Resorted to sanding it though as my knife skills are still lacking a bit (I blame the wood which was a bit of cherry)
Thats awesome to hear Tony and I hope to visit the Norfolk Bodgers when timing and circumstances permit ~Peace~
thank you Zed and Andrea! Very calming voice Andrea, did carving make you calm, or did you carve because you’re calm?? Chicken or the egg I guess.
Sincerely appreciate your kind words and for watching Andy thank you. If Andreea doesn't see your question, you are more then welcome to message her on Instagram, a link to that is in the description ~Peace~
What Ind Of Wood Are You Using?
I Like That Kind Of Wood. 2 Tone
Woods Make Anything You'r Making.
Hi Roger there are timestamps on this video and there is a whole section talking about the type of wood used in this project, many thanks ~Peace~
Hello, thank you for sharing this video. She is so easy to follow and I like that you provide her templates. I am a bit hard of hearing so I missed the name of the knife she used and where she got it. I tried to listen a bunch of times, sorry. I'm wondering if you could provide me with information where I can purchase the knife. Thanks again.
Sincerely appreciate your kind words and the knife she used is from this maker - soulwoodcreations.com
Give us the "scoop" on scoop carving. 😉
I see what you did there! :) ~Peace~
Hi Zed. On the scoop, did you discuss the finished dimensions?
Hi Linda I don't think we did, however if you download Andreeas free template, it will naturally print out at the right size ~Peace~
that's a tiny scorp! who makes it?
andrea mentioned in 1:11:00 that it's made by Lee Stoffer
