    Another great video. This is my second viewing over almost 2 years. I love to see the approach every craftsman has to each project and piece of wood. I've tried 3 coffee scoops and failed each time: two became sieves when I cut through the bottom, and one just split when it dried. This gives me hope. Thanks Aaron.

    10:45 & 30:16 ... I wonder if Aaron has ever accidently, knicked himself with his hatchet ?
    24:42 ... I like that A.Garrett is not perfect..or that you, Zed didn't edit out his "over the line" cut/chopping ...well done ...keeping it real.
    25:02 ... good safety cuts...well done.
    26:41 ... If I used an Adze on my scoop, I would definitely split the whole thing in half...LOL
    I prefer using up the extra 20 secs , using a Spoon Knife .
    31:50 ...enjoy seeing all the different cut techniques , A.Garrett is using with his knife

      Hi Adam the wood was green when carved, as long as you dry the scoop slowly upon finishing the carving and that there is no inherent weakness already in the wood (e.g. knots, hairline cracks from axing, etc) then with a small scoop like this you're typically fine ~Peace~

      @@Zedoutdoors I've got a bunch of his tools. But since it's just him and his 2 sons making tools. They are always a wicked long wait. There's a website outa England that has a cool feature, to notify you when the item comes into stock. I love Hans Karlsson tools. My Rottweiler is named, Hans even. Be well.

    For safety’s sake why do you not wear an archers leather bracer or similar? Much better than a watch strap

    • @Zedoutdoors
      @Zedoutdoors  Před 2 lety

      For safety sake Aaron is using safe carving techniques so has no need for a leather brace. As with everything, one should not attempt this if you're not grounded in safe technqiues ~Peace~
