These are great lil atvs. They are kind of hard to come across in 4x4 model though. So 4x4 parts are a little harder to find. I have a 98 model 4x4. Bought it as a wreck, no top end on it, sitting outside with a bag over the hole. Way too big tires, 25 rear and 26 front. and just generally worn out. Used ebay for used and new parts. I now have all new wheel bearings, good front axles, new top end, no oil leak, a working rear brake, good plastics, etc. Been through everything on this ATV but splitting the crankcase itself. Waiting on a couple cables to finish my front brake rebuild. For a 250 it hauls ass pretty damn good. I have racks front and rear as well. Have about $750 total in it now. I really prefer Yamaha products.
yah I having problems with it now. swamped it and must have cracked a head or head gasket blew out because its just blue smoking like crazy. its running rough too so imma tear it down
JETz x Remix I liked it allot but the carb is picky and I got it really wet and blew the head gasket. Upgraded to a 04 grizzly 660. If you get one and the carb needs work just rebuild it and don't swamp it like I did and there great machines
I dont have that quad anymore but the Timberwolf is a 5 speed auto clutch. Start in 1st gear when your ready to shift up to second let off the throttle shift to second repeat until your in 5th or desired gear. Never start off in a high gear or slow down to the point you can hear the engine bogging out in too high of a gear that will put excess strain on the centrifugal clutch you want to keep the rpms up from where it takes off and you can feel the automatic clutch lock all the way in if you feel it straining and slipping your in too high of a gear
I want it but I'm not sure how good they are, right now I'm riding a 100cc 1988 moto 4 yamaha it has a new rear end new carb decent brakes working light no reverse 4 gears runs great new back tires I have new front tires but haven't had time to put them on how much do you think my current 4 wheeler is worth I'm thinking of possibly selling it
@@malldredge252 well if in good shape 500-800 and I liked my Timberwolf the 4x4 was really good never got stuck. The carb and idle was always finicky but I made it work. It was cold blooded too. I went into too deep of a mud hole and swamped it and the head gasket went out but it still ran so I sold it
Nice quad I got me a 1997 2x4 timberwolf and it's a good quad.

Can you convert the full time 4x4 to 2x4 i would like to put the 4x4 on a switch if possible
No it's full time 4x4. It has a clutch to compensate for pavement and asphalt travel I rode this on the roads allot never had a issue.
May I ask your carb settings and needle setting?
I haven't had this thing for years I have a 04 grizzly now. I cant remember what I had the carb set to
If you still reply to comments. How do you shift through the 5 gears on it?
