Onan DKD 7.5 diesel rv generator
oil pressure on screen is in bar not psi. 3.5 bar is roughly 50psi. seems to run very healthy

replaced 4psi electric lift pump with oem onan mechanical lift pump, replaced ball joints on throttle linkage. the onan lift pump is 14psi I believe the low psi pump was the cause

Massey Ferguson industrial 20 loader tractor running after fresh rebuild of the perkins ad3.152 which consists of crank grind to .030 over on rods and .010 on mains, new pistons/rings, head rebuild, reman injectors, all new gaskets and seals. purrs like a kitten next is sandblast and paint I'll post a update video soon

It's a case 220 PK with a kubota z482 and a garret gt15 turbo which is too big so I'm going with a rhb31 when I get time. Had to stretch the frame too. Sorry it didn't start it's been sitting for a month and it was 10 degrees below freezing subscribe to see it start in the next video.

Thanks for filming. Looking ton install a pee-hole in the same motor…was contemplating drilling through the exhaust cover (like I did with my 9.9) but now you’ve got me intrigued.

@@jamesbuck555 oh right so the whole body actually came from a 2wd c6 460 f250 I drove back from Colorado to put on my idi 4x4 chassis. The cruise control didn't work when it was the 460 2wd I never troubleshoot it I haven't hooked it up on the idi and my speedometer quit on me so I would have to fix that first

Hello I have a question. If you cant start the engine from the first what could be a problem? It starts and runs from engine starter fluid . We just rebuilt it recently

I have a t6.354 and a gm adapter plate for the 4 cylinder perkins, will that adapter plate fit and if not where can I find an adapter? Internet has not been much help

Not an easy fix as it gets engaged in taking things apart.

This was the first tractor I ever drove when I was 17. My grand-uncle's tractor, and he painted it red sometime in the past, but by the time I drove it the paint was faded in a nice way. He hung onto the side while showing me where the clutch, brakes and how to shift the gears, I remember it was real easy to steer too. Then I nearly crashed it into the side of the tractor shed he kept it in when I was trying to bring it inside XD

I've been trying to find one of those for a while now. Getting scarce. It sounds great. I have to do a little bit of homework and see if anything is still available for the generator end in case repair is needed. Engine parts are no problem. Like to see and hear updates on it. Thanks
You won't get better than a Brown. Quality tractors especially the 880/885 990/995/996. As the HP got bigger, things got a bit dodgy reliability wise.

Just got mine running and if I disconnect the battery the engine kills. Saw a post where these need a battery to run. Was just going to jump start it from auto battery only when I need to use it. If I do have to buy a battery I assume I will also need a way to maintain the charge on it. I Really don't want to have to set up a 12v charging as well. Guessing when generator is running it doesn't charge the battery or does it ?
It does charge while its running it has a mini alternator

My wife has an uncle about 40 years our senior. Who bought this same model new. Still used every season. Two years ago (covid parts) it was down loss of power rebuild the injection pump no change turned out to be a broken piston. All good now running like new. But could use a new round of hydraulic seals.

Yup its basically stock has a aftermarket turbo kit and the fuel is turned up. Was pulling a hill too
@@1997cr80r did you swap a 7.3 in? Because I know for fact those trucks originally had a 6.9L idi diesel in them. My 84 had a 6.9 in it and so did my uncles 86.

Have you had to take the sending unit out ?
Make that unit a compound turbo set have the 21 feed the 31 with a little extra fuel added make sure you get a set of head studs in it so u don't left the head ! Good luck !

Dude, this is epic what’s transmissions do you have?
I think I put some decent info in the description but it's a Clark overdrive 5 speed main trans and a Spicer under direct over auxiliary trans. I put a hx35w off a 24v dodge Cummins on it too. I think I posted a picture of the engine bay on my channel if that ever worked. It's a riot to drive so much fun can't wait to hook a trailer behind it! I float all the gears pop the auxiliary in neutral when I shift the main. This t6.354.4 is basically a brand new engine it's a 1981 that was put in a ford pickup for less than a year before the ford got totaled out in a wreck (engine was new when it went in the ford) guy bought it to make a perkins chevy and never finished it because ford came out with the idi and he bought one of those instead. The guy I got it from said he drove it home in the smashed ford then started the Chevy swap when he gave up he put it in his shed as a rolling chassis and started it a few times a year every year since the 80s to keep the seals from drying up or fuel from gumming. This dot4 perkins also has the bosch VE injection pump instead of the cav which is a huge plus
mine has a pecking noise at the right side near where the timing chain goes up do you know what it could be it is consistent with rpm
Timing chain or rocker arms. Dont run it like that that's why I had gotten that one for free it was the timing chain and it broke and bent all the valves
@@1997cr80r I think the tensioner isn’t tensioning right I might try to tension it with a screwdriver through the hole and if it fixes it get a manual tensioner
@@1997cr80r do you know what octane they are supposed to run I also thought it could be pinging from too low octane I get no ethanol gas and it’s lower grade I think 87 or 89 for premium price I might get 93 and maybe octane booster and see if it helps and get a manual chain tensioner too

No it's full time 4x4. It has a clutch to compensate for pavement and asphalt travel I rode this on the roads allot never had a issue.

I'm loving that dual exhaust. It gives it a unique sound.
Sounds like a miss to me. I'd put some injector cleaner in the fuel and load it down with 6000 watts for a couple hours. Might just need a good workout.
Go to my channel and watch the next video on it and read the description. It ended up being govenor linkage ball joints and it was using a 4psi electric lift pump I put a new old stock onan mechanical lift pump on it that makes 15psi
@@1997cr80r That makes sense. I've tried running a couple DJC's on electric lift pumps in the past and they never could keep up. Glad you got 'er fixed.
@@bigchevy80 I ended up mounting it in a portable light tower trailer then sold it to a friend. I sold it to buy a DKD I put in my blue bird wanderlodge and the dkd is just cherry

@@1997cr80r Mines a 96 302 it's slow and sounds mean too but it still gets where it's going... eventually 😂😂😂😂😂 I've got it to 92 mph before and that was sketchy as hell and took forever to get there

I was thinking about mounting a VZ21on a Z482, mostly for the effect a turbo has as a "rotary muffler" haha! Hard to tell from a video but it seems pretty quiet considering what you got there for a exhaust pipe. Do you think the exhaust turbine is dampening the sound? Also, how's the spool? I can't hear it over the exhaust. Do you hear it spool up IRL? Perhaps you have a boost gauge?
Definitely quiets it a little. I dont have a boost gauge but the turbo adds quite a bit of power. You don't hear it spool up but you can hear it bark when you let off the throttle from high boost
@@1997cr80r Nice, you've inspired me to order that turbo. I have a Z482 mounted in a JD 318. I have the electric clutch and driveline figured out, just need to freshen up the engine and get a radiator for it.
