Great jeep. Do you plan to convert it, or just drive it?

no it will stay 2wd and I'm going to just drive it. It will look like a military jeep by fall painted olive drab and have a star on the hood

Good plan. No sense in messing with what already works. They are pretty capable with just some decent tires, like some 235/75 all terrains. It should have a Dana 44 rear axle with limited slip if I remember correctly.

Good luck. I hope you find something working on engines or in a machine shop or something.

If the Yellow and Black AM General sticker says it’s a 1973, then it is a 1973.
The other plate that says 1975 is when your Jeep’s Warranty Expired.
It totally has a Borg Warner 3 Speed.
There’s a Buddy in Alabama with parts for your BorgWarner.
As the 727 was used in 75 and Later.
The yellow and black is the Manufacturer Vehichle Identification Plate; Required By Law. The silver and Black; like I said, is the warranty plate.

Joo Hinns it was definitely a 727 I don't have it anymore though. Trans started slipping and I didn't have time for that project so I sold it
