Scooby I'm so happy you've decided to make these videos. I wish you'd made them sooner. Many of the scenarios that you've described I've gone through them and I've decided to just cut those people out of my life. I've suggested that we have vegan challenges, cycling challenges and other fitness challenges instead of drinking and sitting on their fat asses. I've cut those toxic negative jealous people out of my life and have never looked back. The downside is that I have much much fewer friends, but I'm fine with that. Friends who don't respect your priorities aren't friends at all.
Edit: I agree that we should approach every disagreement with compassion, but there's a point where you're gonna have to draw the line and cut your losses. If I could offer some additional advice to this video is, set a deadline date for your compassion, don't let it run forever.

Good advice. That's what good person would do. I'm a jerk and it's much easier for me to just cut off all ties with toxic people or simply ignore them. If they don't shut up about your lifestyle and love for fitness, you shouldn't waste time on them. However, some of us are in a really bad life situation. I remember reading a blog post about one guy who tried to become fit (he's a teenager and lives with parents). His parents and siblings are obese and actively sabotaging all his attempts to become fit.

I'm happy with rice, chicken, and veggies for every meal. But I value my relationships as much as my health, so if it gives them a huge amount of happiness to go to shake shack once every few weeks, I'm willing to take a one meal hit every now and then to give them that happiness.

Despite how hard it is to be a parent, they do need to have a sense of respect for their grown children and the choices they make. When I started lifting and changing my diet, it was always "you were more fun before" or "you look awful now" or even "you're SO strict with your diet, your life must be miserable." I don't like responding to them why I do it anymore, because nothing seems to change their minds no matter how kindly or serious I put it. My only guess is that they're looking for any sense of self superiority over their kids in the remaining time of their life. That might sound a bit morbid but it's the only conclusion I can come to anymore. Easily the most stubborn people I've ever had to deal with, unfortunately.

Cholesterol is not associated let alone causal in heart disease... The problem is eating a diet rich in both fat and carbohydrates to the point where they are even in caloric density and grams. Eating a standard western diet is what causes problems because it will cause inflammation and cause glycation and oxidation which will stiffen arteries and cause plaques to develop.
