I think with the “what I eat” videos in regards to breakfast and lunch, maybe it’s less what you eat in a week but more of: here are some breakfast and lunch ideas that I like and maybe you’ll like them too!
Love that idea!
The switch witch is a weird concept. My parents would check our candy when I was little and let me and my siblings have it. No restrictions on what we could eat or anything. And honestly, we ate a few pieces and then it ended up in a bowl above the computer that my dad would end up mostly eating.
My mother used to take us trick or treating for 4 or 5 hours in the rich neighborhoods. Needless to say we each had a large pillow sack of candy each. My mom, admittedly an almond mom, never took any. My siblings and I obviously didn't eat it all (you learn pretty quickly it'll make you sick) instead we used it like currency between each other, trading and "paying" each other to take on chores.
i've had the coffee with lemon juice. it's (at least as far as i know) called mazagran coffee and comes from turkey. its DEFINITELY an acquired taste but honestly, i'm open to new flavors and i think it's grown on me.
i wouldn't recommend it to anyone though. it can be quite acidic :))
I plan on having two bowls this year, one for treats (candy/snacks) and one for tricks (small inexpensive Halloween related toys).
But that is to include those with allergies or other "natural" restrictions.
I would hate for a parent to think my attempt at inclusivity is any type of agreement to this "Switch Witch" idea.
If you have one you can put out a teal pumpkin, and join in the Teal Pumpkin Project to let people know why you include this stuff. I know not everyone knows that the teal pumpkins mean "hey I include allergy friendly stuff, and candy alternatives," but it'll be good for those who already know.
And if they ever ask just say, "I believe everyone should have a good Halloween, even if that person has allergies or food intolerances," or something like that.
In Italy, they put a little piece of lemon peel that they squeeze to release the oils at the bottom of espresso. The lemon essence with the coffee actually does taste really good! Haven’t tried (and don’t think I plan on trying) lemon juice in coffee though lol
Coffee is already acidic, I feel like the lemon juice would be redundant at best. But you’re right, lemon or orange peel in coffee is fantastic!
I think it would be helpful if you did a breakfast/lunch video! Since you are someone who has been an intuitive eater it helps those of us who are on our IE journey. I think your genuineness makes it easier on us to following some of your ideas. If you do decide to vlog your meals, just showcase exactly who you are. No need to come up with fancy meals! I saw one of your videos where you made a cheeseburger salad “dump” and I literally am eating my own version of it for dinner! Simple, perfect idea to which I would have never come up with myself. Hope the pup feels better soon!
I would love to see any random video of you enjoying a meal or snack intuitively out in town. Example: your at a coffee shop and you order a muffin and coffee drink and we can see you relaxing and enjoying it while maybe telling us about something fun or interesting or exciting coming up in your life!! I would love to maybe hear about anything you did to make yourself feel self care or anything that made your soul feel happy. By the way Love your happy energy and you are amazing thank you for helping so many people.🌷🌻💕🎃👻
These are so great, I love every episode. Thanks for making them.
Love these chats. ❤️
I'm gonna put this out there. My child has lactose intolerance issues, and he is allergic to Red Dye#40. He literally breaks out in hives. So sometimes the restrictions happen due to an allergy or an intolerance. Also, I'm allergic to dairy and also allergic to chocolate. I get 3 day migraines if I have chocolate. So honestly, some people need to restrict food due to allergies.
That’s very different to restriction
That is not restriction for no particular reason. It is restriction based on how your body reacts to certain foods. This is a part of intuitive eating, knowing what foods work well for you, and what foods your body will be sensitive to and have a negative reaction to, especially if this negative reaction could lead to life or death. Very different from Maybe_Roo's definition of restriction.
@@candicraveingcloude2822 What I mean is avoiding foods you’re sensitive to is not an eating disorder.
I hadn't been to Aldi in forever, but I decided to pop in and get some of the pub pretzels that my husband loves. I just happened to see those kiwi whatever electrolyte packs and grabbed one thinking it would be a smart to use them because I had a big race coming up that weekend. O-M-G. I mixed them with club soda and they tasted amazing. Def buying more, favorite water enhancer ever. Bonus, I survived my race, lol.
I don’t do lemon in my coffee, but when I worked in a fancy Italian restaraunt we DID serve a lemon peel with the espresso. So that’s a thing.
Love the video- and you never have to apologize for the way you look! You don’t owe it to anyone to curl your hair just like you don’t owe it to anyone to be thin. ❤
18:30 One time after cheer, i got crèpes from a restaurant and i was eating them kinda quickly since i hadn't eaten all day and i just performed for competition, so i was super hungry it was like 3pm and i got up at 7am but we had to rush out the door. My grandmother was like slow down and really tell me what this tastes like. It was harmful becuase even years later i feel bad for eafing quickly.
My breakfasts and lunches are pretty much the same every day. Eggs &fruit for bfast and salad for lunch. Though I change up what I put in the salad. Except for the shredded chicken. That's a constant.
Love the videos and they are helping me understand food and society with your body better. But I was wondering if you had a sister who was a teacher?!!!
we let out kids eat as much as they wanted when they got home, my three-year-old opened three lollipops that he tried to eat like a lollipop sandwich (didn't eat any of them enough to be visibly smaller than when he got them), and my 9-year-old had maybe 5 treats? maybe a couple more? Since then, it's been maybe one a day, but mostly they just know the stash is there, and they ask for some sometimes, but it's not a big deal? We definitely have the candy and chocolates for a long time, and definitely my husband ends up eating most of it because I think he has the biggest sweet tooth of the family...
Starbucks recently released olive oil coffee (yikes!) but I always drink coffee with cardamom - sooo delicious, please try it!!
I second this! In the Middle East, one of the Turkish coffee flavors is cardamom! It’s delicious and my favorite flavor of Turkish coffee :) Highly recommend!
Lemon rind with espresso is a traditional way to serve espresso. I’ve had coffee/ lemon that way and it’s very good. I‘m skeptical about drip coffee and lemon juice though…
Our family and friends do not participate in Halloween in any way.
However, we do have church shindig's ( not on the 31st) that include different types of yummy autumn treats in a fall harvest theme. I'm bringing pumpkin spice bread. ❤
I drink decaf often because I love coffee but don’t need that much caffeine as a light sleeper.
Maybe talk about LMNT? If you're going down that road....😸
Nestle's crunch!
Cavendish is like the only variety of banana Americans eat
Have you ever tried to sweeten your coffee with honey instead of sugar? It is delicious.
If they want to be slimmer or healthier as long as they don't go extreme and eat to little or eat to little of certain things then I am going for what keeps me a bit leaner.
Colleen, I'd like to have a better, more intuitive relationship with food.
I like my body the way it is, but at over 400lbs. everyone else tells me that I need to lose weight for my health. Truthfully my fitness could use some work, I do struggle to catch my breath after taking the stairs, so I feel like it's something I should do - but not something I'm particularly motivated to do.
My question is: how can I effectively lose weight without restricting what or how much I'm eating, in a healthy way?
@@wonyspineberry I'm 6'3", definitely obese, and likely at high risk for those things.
awes❤ome
Can anyone recommend a good flavored coffee? I feel like all the ones I've tried smell good, but taste really artificial/fake.
My DOCTOR said that coffe does actually decrease your Hydration, and for every 1 cup of coffee, you should have 2 cups of water
Can you really go to get free fries without thinking, while I'm here...I'll get a burger and soda. Brilliant marketing ploy.
Not me thinking the switch Witch had something to do with Nintendo switch....

Colleen Christensen are you going to put on and wear a Witches Hat on a video?
I dislike the idea of the Switch Witch for even more reasons than the potential for contributing to disordered eating. It's another made up magical being for parents to have to do. It will be added to the list: Santa, Easter Bunny, Leprechaun, Elf on the Shelf, Tooth Fairy, etc... I just can't...
My favorite candy is Twix. I love all things chocolate. Sadly, I am allergic to dairy, so no Twix or most of the candy that I love unless I'm willing to pay dearly in terms of feeling like crap or actually dying if we're talking peanuts. So when i have candy it's usually fruity. Twizzlers are delicious!
I doubt I'll take advantage of the free fries. Fast food doesn't agree with me anymore. But McDonald's fries are my favorite. Someone go enjoy them for me!
I like the idea of the switch witch tbh, there's just so much candy and it always hurt to eat it all, so being able to exchange it for something I'd enjoy would have been fun
That and I love encouraging voluntary giving. Acknowledging how much candy you actually want to eat, and parting with the rest.
I don't want to pass on my disordered eating, but I also don't want to pass on my hoarding
early!
XOXO!

Sugar has been proven to be addictive. I honor my kids’ choices but I also empower them by teaching them the facts. They feel loved and trust me. They choose not to have sugary things without me forcing them. I am just there to teach and support. Other adults have told me about how they choose not to have sugary things outside the home even when I’m not there. I respectfully disagree with you about all foods being okay to eat. I ate sugar my whole life, and want to make god choices to honor my body and wish that I didn’t have these cravings. That’s when I decided I wouldn’t let that happen to my kids, but I agree that it is not good to force them, just teach them. When they were younger I’d explain the effects of sugar in our bodies and then tell them they could still choose. I’d also reassured them that if they chose not to eat it, we could have fun at home making a healthy treat. I think diets are wrong, but I also think we need to be careful not to go to the opposite extreme and say “everything is fine”, because that has consequences too.
