Let's be honest, Andrew occasionally rides with one hand because there are a lot of fans out there and it would be rude not to wave back
Been really digging the stuff Apollo has been putting out lately, great review as always!
Very comprehensive review guys. I enjoy listening to all of your thoughtful & collaborative insights.
🙏
This is going to be my first e-scooter. Looking forward to delivery.
nooo get the isinwheel gt2
Great review guys and it seems that this scooter got alot of attention to detail for quality control. I have seen alot of complaints before of some of their other scooters but this one got some more tlc. Take care guys.
Love the speed test! It doesn't matter if it's uphill, downhill, into or out of the wind, just thumb that throttle one time and spit out the speed on scooter's display to your viewers. "if you're looking for a scooter that goes 28mph, this is gonna do it" ....even if it actually only goes 25.4mph with a 165lb rider verified by 3 scooter review channels who use GPS and two way runs to measure speed. Facepalm.
Best content for scooters! Keep up the great works guys!
Tell your friends!
@@freshlycharged I’m planning on giving you guys a shoutout on my channel. Love the content.
I felt it in my soul when you purposely let it fall 😂
You are a smart man! 😂
Great review Andrew and Jimmy! I will likely pick one of these up eventually for my wife's San Francisco commuting. She loves her E-Twow GT but I want her to have something that has greater IPX rating and pneumatic tires for better wet weather grip. She is fine on the E-Twow GT (even in the rain). The GT can also hit 25MPH and is much lighter. She has to transport the scooter up and down stairs and there is a big difference between 28lbs. and the nearly 50lbs of the Go. The self-sealing tires of the Go look great and I like the everything about it except for the non-folding handlebars. It won't fit in the storage areas on a train or my tall locker at the gym. Regardless, I still want to get a Go for her eventually as her rain commute scooter but I need her GT to stop working which is very unlikely. She has well over 5000 miles on it and it still going strong. I have just had to change the tires out, replace the drum brake pads and replace the brake cable wires when needed.
The folding handlebars come in handy for situations like that.
@@freshlycharged The Go does have fairly narrow handlebars which is good. You really should be using body weight and very small handlebar movement to change direction on these little scooters.
@@RCDevotee that’s true. Andrew just has gorilla sized shoulders so he likes his handlebars wide!
@@RCDevoteethat’s impressive that she has 5000 miles on it. A truly dependable scooter with low maintenance.
@@RCDevotee sounds to me like you should keep what you've got until it breaks, especially if she has to haul it around. 28lbs vs 50lbs is a huge difference for a woman. I would say consider the apollo air but even that's over 40lbs too
I think Apolla makes good scooters, but honestly this is the first time I think they finally hit the nail on the head, within its segment they got this one the most right,.....the right pricing, they didn't waste money on a disc brake where it wasn't needed, allowing them to offer it at a cheaper price, front suspension, above average range for its segment, above average ride quality for its segment, they picked the right place to splurge by adding the self-healing tires......low maintenance scooter, good ride quality, good range for its segment, I think this will be their sales leader within their line-up.
wow, that is really a great looking and well spec'd escooter. love that light sabre
👍 Thanks, guys!
man i wish they had them quick disconnects on the phantom, its a pain to change tires with the motor attached.
Amen brother. Quick disconnects are a must these days. People just don’t know the pain until tire change time.
You the man Jimmy!
Andrew seems to get better in shape as the summer comes clooser😂Winter sleep over
Thanks for noticing! I have lost some weight recently. My wife was pregnant with cravings, and I always obliged. Now that the baby is out, the cravings aren’t as bad and I’m getting back in shape. 😂
@@Andrew-vt4jt Ur in good shape was joking Im fat myself:) ty for the great reviews.
Any chance that you guys could review the Apollo Phantom?
Very cool! Im so glad you guys are reviewing it. Im buying one for my 12 year old son for his 13th birthday by July, so any info i can get from you guys would be great. Im rocking an Inmotion RS, Segway GT1, and a Segway MAX G2. I can't wait to get this for my boy, more bonding time for me.
Your son will never forget that special birthday present. 🛴= 🤘🏼😜👍🏼

What an incredible gift!

Can you guys review Taur scooter?
Nice review. I wonder how it will compare to the upcoming NIU KQi 300X.
Great review as always. Overall, there isn't a better scooter in this category anywhere. It's right in the sweet spot but there is one problem -- the range is weak -- 20 miles at best on a full charge in gear 2. To reach 44 miles you would have to crawl along.
great review!
anyone had an experience which lock is better for GO? Chain or Folding lock from apollo?
What brand helmets are you guys wearing? I like them a lot
How do you compare this to upcoming Taur 2?
How is it compared to the new city pro .cheers
Will you be doing a review on the Apollo Pro?
The Apollo Pro looks amazing. They’ve been working on it for almost 3 years now and we wanted to wait till the near production units were ready to review.
Just got mine yesterday in the mail super impressed did not know it went 40mph thought it only went 28mph max 😳😳
This doesn't go to 40mph what are you talking about? Are you confusing KM with miles?
Battery is a bit small 🧐
The top latch is a sharp metal piece that could hurt the rider when unfolding in a crash accident.
Wish it had 10” tires instead of 9”.
But other than that it seems like a great general purpose scooter.
10' won't make a world of difference over 9' in terms of performance and safety. The dual suspension is what does the trick in dampening rough road conditions.
Besides, that would defeat this scooter's purpose for portability and ease of storage as a larger frame is needed to accommodate 10' tires.
I am a big, big fan of a regen brake lever. You can do lots of your braking regen only. If it’s predictable, non emergency braking, it’s the best way to go. I wish electric vehicles in the commuter line would focus on being legit water proof to all rain. You’re asking people to rely on it to go to work or places they need to be, they should be able to do that without worrying if it’s raining. If it’s raining you can wear some gear to keep you dry, but a commuter device should be able to do it no matter what.
Apollo is really the only one doing it. Was gonna get the city pro and then this appeared, and its way better for my use case as I don't have to go too far but hills abound
I saw Freshly Charged’s review of the Hillclimber. Now that you’ve ridden both, any comments on how the Hillclimber holds up to this scooter at its $799 price point?
If price wasn’t a factor, I would choose the Go over the Inmotion Climber. The climber does well but the tech and design is better on the Go.
Cool little scooter
What helmet are you guys using?
Any thoughts on their app and functionality compared to say Segway?
Andrew you don't have to bunny hop every scooter if you keep doing bunny hops your going tear the scooter up you are rough on scooters good video
I want all these features (like the stem light, and the phone as a display) added to the City. Maybe there will be a 2024 City Pro?
Maybe 2025!
@@eloipecquet yes. Looking at the Apollo website they have discontinued the single motor city and now call thr 2023 City pro, just City Pro.
Let's go Jack!
👍
Despite all its niceties, the main issue with this scooter is the lack of overall versatility due to limited range. With reviewers seeing 14 - 19 miles max, with at least one reviewer cruising at 20mph until it would no longer sustain, which is fairly unimpressive. Apollo used 30 x 21700 cells in 10 series, 3 parallel. Had they simply gone with 40 cells in 10 Series 4 Parallel, it would have transformed this scooter into one of the most versatile units in scooter history while not giving up any of it's other fantastic attributes. Adding 10 cells would add less than 2lbs to this unit, even factoring in a slightly deeper battery tub. I wish they'd make a "max" version with 40 cells and 2-3" wider handlebars so that there was room to add an accessory or two... lights, bell, etc. I love everything else about the this scooter but the range is an issue compared to its competitors from Niu, Segway, VMAX and others.
Specs dual 350watt 36v fills a nice niche but it certainly is overpriced there are better scooters at that asking price and the light weight does not justify it enough. I think this scooter would be a good deal if it were on sale for 900 or less.
Thoughts on the Gotrax GX1/GX2?
You have to deal with gotrax customer support, which in my experience is absolutely terrible
I like the Appolo scooters they are well made and designed. Ideal I would say, but they priced way too high, I just don't see value in it. On the other hand, NIU scooter are beautifully made and designed perhaps not quite designer ish like the Appollo, but you can't beat the extremely high quality and good looks of the NIU at half of the price.
The problem is that there's no suspension on NIU e-scooters beside the newer models that aren't yet available everywhere.
NICE
Wow it has been 5 years since 2019
Mine folds but I can’t latch it because it doesn’t line up
46 pounds is still heavy walking up a flight of stairs. need to cover sub-30lb scooters. above 30lbs, basically there's no restrictions.
This or the new Niu KQI 300x?
Single braking system is a deal-braker, pun intended....the regen braking is nice, but if a truck blows a red light, and I need to stop, yesterday and it doesn't, the next option is jumping off, how wouldn't I be killed or seriously injured?....Lack of stopping power can mean death, I love the scooter, looks great, but I'd feel like i wouldn't have full control, not if you can't stop quick, these are dangerous toys to begin with, and 1 brake...is just stupid, charge another 200 dollars and put proper brakes on the thing, and also include the regen!
8:04...ouch!
This and the max g2 need to have a baby and that would be the perfect $1400 scooter
25-35mph top speed
With range of 25-35 mi sport mode range
Dual motor and dual suspension
is there a scooter with these specs because I can’t seem to find anything
Dualtron Popular
the price isn't that far from the city pro i would just get that tbh
Does it have split rim...this is an important feature
No but self healing tires!
U guys didn’t tell us the range
Go Apollo ! Go Apollo !
I love your honest review but I have issues purchasing parts from them. I guess it's a good scooter if your plan on purchasing new one every year or 2
Why Ride Anything Else? Because Apollo is unavailable in my country (EU). Anyway, nice scooter. But range is way too small for this weight - I have 75 km (nominal) range from 22kg scooter.
Hey man! Which scooter gives you 75Km at 22 kg?
Could I have a free one?
21KG and only one break in 2024 🤣
My Specialized 140/130mm fullsuspension Stumpjumper Bike weights 11.5 KG 😂
Awesome scooter but when it's up against scooters like the popular it can't beat it $999 that the price I would pay for it
Lmao the magnet is suppose to be in the folding thing not the stem. It obviously came out as the glue they use isnt strong enough. Hope they refine that before they start shipping these
Is the Apollo Go designed to be bunny-hopped off of curbs by larger riders? Or even smaller riders? It's designed/marketed/sold as a commuter scooter. Should a lightweight commuter scooter be subjected to bunny-hopping and jumping off of curbs?
Testing it for durability.
@@freshlycharged I can appreciate that fact (testing for durability) but I am still genuinely curious how overbuilt (or not) that the Apollo Go scooter really is? Like, would a few bunny-hops off of a curb compromise the overall structural integrity of the Apollo Go scooter? Would a few dozen bunny-hops off of a curb eventually compromise the structural integrity of the Apollo Go scooter? Is the Apollo Go scooter designed for a rider/owner who desires to bunny-hop their Apollo Go scooter off of curbs? Or perhaps...not so much?
@@femacampetiquettefordummie6979 You're overthinking too much. The Apollo Go scooter is "overbuilt" because it is built to last for everyday use in any weather and road conditions without having to worry about maintenance anytime soon. I don't recommend one to bunny hop this scooter aside from the purpose of testing its durability.
That job is for a mountain bike with a much larger suspension.
@@chaxologist2961 It’s actually a bonafide question about the safety of the Apollo Go scooter. I am GENUINELY concerned for the people in my family who will be riding my Apollo Go scooter. Concerned for my wife, my young nephews and nieces; if I (a 185 pound male) bunny-hop my Apollo Go off of curbs...am I compromising the safety (structural integrity) of the scooter? Will myself, or someone in my family risk being injured...all because I thought that I could bunny-hop my Apollo Go off of curbs...and there wouldn’t be any negative/catastrophic failures to the scooter.
@@femacampetiquettefordummie6979 If you bunny hop everyday, then yes. You will eventually wear out the suspension and damage the components if you abuse it so many times in this manner. If you do so, you have to take it to monthly maintenance and you'll be fine.
Nothing is indestructible.
Even mountain bikes require maintenance every 3 months or so after so much jumping.
However, normal, intended everyday usage like hitting regular bumps and some potholes as well as riding it through heavy rains will be fine and your scooter can go on for months before requiring maintenance such as tightening and clean ups.
Way to angle the camera to make then hill climb look steep 🙄
so much for "air ow suspension "
Apollo really follows Apple's BS by naming things like they invented it with that "Airflow" suspension.
how much does it weigh?
Watch the video
suspension looks very minimal and those blinkers are a joke. 350W.. come on now
In terms of portability and performance of a 36v scooters, i choose the Gotrax G4 max. 0-20mph is better, longer range, lighter and has a good size of foot deck. Pricing is better as well for better specs.
This sounds like you got stock or employed by Apollo, for your information the scooter market is flooded and prices are falling, if you can't find a scooter with way better battery and specs for $3500 your lost sorry ! SMH😢
yup that’s what i thought
I've been spoiled by eucs... 7 hours for a 15-20 mile battery charge...
Stop bunny hopping these scooters lol
The wheels are too small lol pot hole 🕳️ will have you flying no thank you 😂
Scooter seems overpriced the market is crowded the scooter in my opinion is valued at $700 for what you get
What about e-bikes?
There are some good ebike out there ,but be careful they can be heavy that's my only complaint
agreed
just get a iscooter ix5 500.00 pounds 600w peak power 1200w 28mph full suspension 10inch tyre
@@jamescashmore1452 Great recommendation this is a good price for a good scooter 👍🏼
Apollo actually invests a ton on quality control tests on their scooters as well as treating their employees much better, especially since 2023 where their scooter quality has drastically improved. This explains how their scooters can take much more abuse compared to other scooter brands, even including Segway!
Hence, you pay the premium for their unparalleled quality especially with that IP66 rating!
If the scooter's value is what you said, then the employees making them in the factories are severely underpaid even for their costs of living! Think about it!
Always bringing up something he doesn’t like about the scooter whilst bunnyhopping it . Stupid.
will never buy apollo after stem snapped while riding at 70 km on phantom. after being ignored for weeks they replied immediately after being threatened with a lawsuit, shit company. doesnt stand ebhind their product.. careful riding apollo never know when it will fall apart
Ugly too simple looking swing arms, weak power, ugly scooter...Dualtron Popular eats him in every look..same price like and Dualtron Popular...
Ugly?
@@freshlycharged yea i say...when you really and better look...cant say that is good looking....too simply made...when you compare with Dualtron pop 52V 25amp ....
@@darkozivko7683 I like the cockpit of this scooter, probably my favorite part about it. Simple doesn't mean bad, but everyone has their own tastes.
I think the stem light is extremely ugly though. Love the handlebar turn signals, best on the market until other scooters start using it more (NQI already has)
@@donaldtrump4977 also swing arms very simple, small wheels, small power...i personally think that is for young persons 12-15 years old and price needed to be adapted...too expensive...
@@darkozivko7683 I totally agree. Small wheels are unacceptable for a scooter of this power, and in my opinion for any scooter. Apollo tries so hard to compensate with their marketing department by pointing out the front and rear suspension "balancing this out".
But 9" tires are a lot less safe than 10" tires. I even had a user I suspect working for apollo say that unless its a difference of 2 inches, tire size doesn't matter (what?!)
10" is the best compromise of portability and safety. Of course 11" tires will be more safe.
And yes the price is a rip off. I cancelled my preorder for the Apollo go (which they required me to email or call them to do. HUGE red flag.) I only preordered for fear of missing out, I had just started researching scooters.
I'm going with the Segway Ninebot Max G2 and i'm going to mod the crap out of it!
Apollo is the Apple of scooters.
You lost me at pneumatic tires. Not riding anything that can go flat especially scooters with suspension already built in. I don't know why you're so backwards my man.
It is tubeless, self-healing pneumatic tires with sealant inside of it, practically making it flat resistant unless you deliberately run it over a hundred nails!
Any solid tires that you think are superior compromise not only ride quality but also safety in traction during wet conditions!
Solid tires combine terrible handling with awful ride quality and are instant death in the rain. They absolutely suck
I prefer tubeless pneumatic tires on my premium rides for comfort… I’d never put solid tires on my car, bike, or any premium ride.
just say you don't know anything
😂
just get a iscooter ix5 500.00 pounds 600w peak power 1200w 28mph full suspension 10inch tyre
Yeh let’s all go and get cheap, garbage, unsafe, Chinese electronics, with crappy to nonexistent customer service, and put all our faith in them 🤦♂️
"Cheap disposable" is what the scooter community deserves
