This man knows whats important, aluminium is a much better frame material option for amateur crit racers than carbon. You are going to come off the bike at some point and no company is giving you a free frameset for Saturday's race.
He’s completely sponsored he can get a free frameset whenever he crashes aha
@@brettbaker3991 he can, he could be on the Tarmac SL7 all day. But the recyclability of the Sprint and CAAD framsets is a good reason to shift. Personally I prefer a non carbon bike for crits and enduro mtb riding where the weight penalty isn't going to come in to play the same as on an alpine climb.
"knows whats important"
he rides that bike for free dawg
@@n8torious309 not free, is payed to ride them. and like he said, he likes it, gives one bike away at every race he goes to. And he has the choice of going sl7 or allez. So let the man ride what he wants
@@bernardo9202 motherfucker are you that fucking dense. he is paid to ride a FREE bike he didn't pay for. damn dude being inbred must be so hard sometimes. like do you not actually understand sponsorships?
Those hoods are either the new "unreleased" SRAM red hoods or he has rival/force hoods on a full red groupset for some reason.
The best reason I can think of is ergonomics. Current red levers are so chonky
I Like your style of interview! Keep making more videos like this!
They dont use the Allez in races they are on carbon & only pose with the allez to promote sales,I have both
what do you do for a living
🙌
Thanks Chris!
Did he say allez is stiffer than tarmac?
Yes. And a bit 'bouncy'.
What is that red thing on fork, Some kind of sensor?
Yes, I believe so.
I reckon it's a timing pod, most races use something like this. In the events I've been in (none of which were races, but timed events), the most my bike ever had was a disposable RFID tag.
Really don't understand why these dudes aren't doing 1x chainrings
And don't even try telling me that their crit courses are hilly lmao cuz they're not
I mean, they train on those bikes too so it makes sense. It’s not like they have the budget of a world tour team to just have specific race bikes and mechanics available 24/7 to change the drivetrains, you know.
Valid point. For the majority of Crits, you'd never need the little ring...
@@bennyaw2141 Legion is sponsored by Specialized and get free S-Works from them, could you actually be that stupid
@@bennyaw2141 exactly I agree. Not everyone has a race and training bike
I just don't like these narrow bars and how I see these pros turning in their brake leavers
I understand the narrow bars for 'aero' benefits, however, I don't like how it changes the bike handling as well as 'out of the saddle' efforts when putting power down on the pedals. Regarding the shifters being faced inwards, it's definitely 'different' for sure... I have some friends (all younger) that do it.
@@dib_sports it may have its benefits. Marginal gains. I wouldn't see myself going lower than a 40cm width bar.
@@fyahwerks I agree. Even 40 may be too narrow for me but it of course depends on the rider.
@@dib_sports what size bar u ride?
@@fyahwerks I personally use 42cm.
