What's Next For Legion of LA?

- Legion of LA is one of the most dominant criterium teams that America has ever seen. It was founded by two brothers from south central Los Angeles, Justin and Cory Williams.
Both successful cyclists in their own right, they decided to combine their talents and take L39ion of LA from the amateur ranks to the professional continental level in just a few years.
However, their ascension through the cycling ranks hasn't come without it's challenges. And 2024 appears to be a year of change. Will Legion of LA be able to sustain the success they've experienced?

A little about myself:
New to my channel? Well, I'm an average recreational cyclist that recently moved from America to Girona, Catalunya, Spain. The Tour De France 2023, The Vuelta España 2023 and The Tour of Catalunya will all be held here in Spain! Sometimes I race and when I do, I share my training with you along the way. So far, I've done crit racing, road racing and gravel racing. I haven't done a duathlon or a triathlon yet, but it is something I am thinking about!
So far in Spain, I've seen DSM cycling, SD Worx, Team Jayco Alula, Rally / Human Powered Health cycling, Ineos, Arkea cycling, UAE team emirates and more all training here. Did you know there's also a GCN studio here?

What do you think Legion’s next move will be?
I have no doubt that they will open 2024 with nothing short of they're winning ways. I've seen them ripping up the L.A. group rides and building fitness _ also Specialized can kick rocks. I'm pretty sure they will punish the crit field on whatever rig that sets them up. I've seen them training on Canyon Aeroads recently; hands down the best professional racing bike money can buy.
Legion has been a massive net positive for cycling. Step back from the drama of a race and ask is racing different today than 5 years ago? Yes it is. Justin and Corey and CJ have provoked a change in race format, team intensity and style.
Well done Legion - keep it up.
wow the hate is strong
This was great 👍🏾
I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙏🏾
Very Nice! So many directions this can branch out to in the next video....
Justin & Cory are the main reason the team is in a downward spiral - their arrogance, selfish & at times dangerous acts have caught up with them. Anyone who thinks that this team was good or positive for the sport and not done for their own personal gains under the illusion they were doing this for their "hometown 39 community" is delusional and doesn't understand crit racing. This is most evident with them claiming to be Belize citizens so they can beat up on 3rd world non-professional cyclists just to wear the country jersey here in the US and while Justin is driving around in his multi-thousand dollar mango Lambo instead of paying out the winners of their "Lions Crit" which they stacked the field with 16 riders and I think they thought they were going to win & not have to pay out on.....good riddens to these poor ambassadors of the sport
😂
This was a dope video. Love the commentary!

Thanks, Robb. Glad you enjoyed it. More to come.
I'm sure they'll all be fine. I figured that at some point one of the brothers would seek out new horizons; challenges.
Also, as a European racer myself, I've been hoping the Tour Of California could come back in some iteration/form, or a new Stage Race be created so that perhaps LEGION could, well, somehow get a shot at competing against the bigger teams from Europe etc. I know they're predominantly a criterium team, but they have some great riders.
Miami Blazers, though 💥😎
The TOC was great. Sadly we don’t have many UCI races left here in the states. I think there’s only three now (Gila, Maryland and Joe Martin).
@@SeeSmithTV The Miami Blazers are owned by them as well. It's a side move however I do think Legion is gonna be a different structure next year.
Yea, I'm interested to see how the Legion roster will look. It will be cool to see Justin and Cory race against each other again in '24
Little fish in a small pond.
Three brothers. You forgot about CJ.
CJ is definitely apart of Legion as well, but for narrative purposes I had to focus on Cory and Justin as they have done most of the racing for Legion’s elite and pro conti rosters.
Legion is just a Conti team.
Currently, yes. Over the years, they have been both. They did not go pro conti until ‘21. This narration covers their entire journey thus far.
@@SeeSmithTV "UCI puts road teams into three categories: ProTour, Pro Continental and Continental."
Good catch! They went conti* in ‘21
Passionate clashes?!?
I laughed out loud at that line 😂
Can't forget cj.
I heard one moving to Miami
Yea, Cory recently announced his transfer. I’m curious to see how the l39ion roster will look this year without him. As he was also the sprinter for their pro conti roster.
They were never Pro-Continental. They were just "UCI Contiental". Pro-Continental was the next level up before World Tour. @@SeeSmithTV
Legion has not paid riders on their teams. The way they paid them is let them win races they developed.
Great riders…. But …….DIRTY……..
Clickbait title, goes unanswered.
Haha Click bait? Why would I know what is next for them when they haven't announced anything yet and I'm clearly not associated with the team? I'm sorry that you confused "SeeSmithTV" for "Legion of Los Angeles TV".
@@SeeSmithTV didn't confuse you for Legion TV but given how many videos you have on them it's not a stretch to think you know something about them. It's normal practice for videos with questions as titles to answer those questions. All good, you have a great weekend.
