  • Dream Build Specialized Allez Sprint with the wonderful paint "Water Effect Black". Impressively Specialized proves that it does not always have to be the material carbon to build a superbike. Only at second glance you realize that it is not a Specialized Tarmac. No wonder, geometry, fork and frame shape are identical to those of the Specialized Tarmac SL7 frame. Using hydroforming complex tubes and frame parts are manufactured into a unique frame using smartwelding. The wonderful paint job transforms the bike into an object of art. We completed the bike with a SRAM RED AXS, a lightweight Roval Alpinist CLX wheelset and the brand new S-Works Turbo RapidAir tires. Have fun watching.

Question about the freehub body on the rear wheel with the Roval Alpinist CLX wheelset. Was it the XDR? When I search for the same wheelset, they are all provided with the Shimano HG 11-speed freehub body. If I want to use the SRAM Rival eTap 12-speed, I'll need the XDR freehub body. Therefore, was it supplied with the wheelset? Or was it changed out afterward? Or am I missing something here?

It really looks that way. As far as we know Specialized is offering the wheel set with the normal Shimano freehub body only. At 4:48 - wrong installation.
Specialized Allez Sprint User Manual - page 12 - front brake hose must be always in the slot and not to the left/right holes, as you did.
5:26 - no sign of bottom bracket sleeve (altough i saw it during the weight measurement), if the cups were installed without it, the spindle of the crankset can wear the housing of cable shifters and brakes.

Poor construction. The frame is only good for sunny days. Two big holes in the frame at the bottom bracket. Usually one puts a tiny hole for moisture relief. Specialized puts two big holes there and all the dirt flies into the frame. Same thing for the seat post. Also routing of the shift cable for the front derailleur is horrible. For me those are pretty big failures for such a company.
