Top 100 Golf Cost: USA vs Ireland

  • I have been fortunate to play a decent number of the top 100 golf courses in the world, and when I recently saw two lists in the same week, I thought it presented an opportunity to explain the surprising value a golf trip to Ireland might offer. Outside of the better dollar-to-course greatness factor, overall, Ireland's golf culture is unique and in my opinion, vastly superior. I also think it is fair to include the entire UK but Ireland stands alone. I would also like to note these are not my top 10 lists for either Ireland or the USA. I personally think Carne and Enniscrone are Top 10 in Ireland and Bandon Trails and Arcadia Bluffs are top 10 public courses in America. What do you think?

9 out of 10!! Lets play Bethpage. I played 10 courses in Ireland in April. 10 days all off the train lines, nothing was over 50 bucks and each course was so nice. Cheers

The train golf trip is awesome. I wanted to do that in Scotland but not enough time to enjoy the train

The top Irish courses ain't cheap, But... there are a ton of damn good courses under the radar for less than $100, throw in if you're willing to play in some wind before peak season in late March or so. I found Dooks online before I went to Ballybunnion and Lahinch and that course was amazing, and almost $300 less.
Also, if anyone else hasn't been to the British Isles, food in Ireland is 10x better than the UK. It's incredibly noticeable.

I totally agree. Ireland had way better food than UK. And so many great hidden finds in Ireland you could do a budget trip and have a great time. I really like Dooks and Donegal. If either course was in America is would be an elite private or 400+

@@thebossgolfs Love your flyover videos... I'm eager to get back to Ireland (or even explore the UK more) and your videos showcase some excellent possibilities that other websites limited to written descriptions can't capture.
