    Kobbie Mainoo was MotM against a City midfield comprising Rodri, De Bruyne, Foden and Bernado Silva in United’s FA Cup final victory against City. He will not be fazed by facing Rodri again on Sunday. The kid’s a generational talent.

      I was a big fan of Jack Wilshere when he was young, injuries eventually took him down a few levels. I rate this version of Mainoo higher than prime Jack Wilshere. Hopefully, Mainoo won't get over played at such a young age.

But he was “fazed”… by his own goalkeeper who, presumably on manager’s instructions kept launching the ball long over the heads of his midfield. So, cutting Mainoo out of the game in an “on the ball” sense.

    Toney works best playing with 2 upfront, layoffs assists. Watkins is the man to run in space, England fans known this since day 1 of euros and it has been frustrating to see a manager hold such a talent back. Kane is out of form and slow. Outside of form of strikers it is a tactical flaw to play Kobbie, Foden link up play with a striker like Kane who stands still. Watkins would link up well with Foden which is key to win the Euros.

    Southgate got criticised because he deserved to be criticised at the time. Spain has been brilliant all the way through. England have spirit, passion and world-class players. When England play to their full potential, they take some beating. Foden shower glimpses of what he does for Man City. I think Watkins offers you a bigger threat than Kane, now. Kane has changed his game -- he plays like a defensive playmaker. Watkins stay up front -- where he's supposed to be.

    • @Gunjack1440
      @Gunjack1440 Před 18 dny

      Kane’s been playing like that for years…..at spurs he relied on son to do the running. He’s been dropping in to the 10 slot then running into the box late expecting a pass to the 8. He does that at Munich too.
      The problem is that Jude basically plays a false 9 at Madrid with utilizing the same method….most of his goals have come from late runs into the box.
      They need to bench him and play toney or Ollie. They both make runs to stretch the lines and stay up top. This also goes for the wing forwards too. They don’t make enough runs. It’s the same reason that TAA cannot flourish in midfield creatively because the space needed to play darts isn’t there.
      Spain is playing very well in all 1/3s. Englands been shaky at best even when they have possession because of all the sideway passing.

    Sorry but very few in the press was calling for Watkins 😮😂 the pecking order was Kane, Toni, then perhaps Ollie. Now what experts - who should start in the final? Don’t tell me :Kane …. Oh well 🤷‍♂️ So British - holding on to the past to try to justify today 🙄 Kane has scored so many goals - in the past. It is now that matters and he hasn’t delivered the whole competition and he has had many many more game time that alternatives. It’s is England’s weakness not strength I am sorry to say

    Just about perfect progression in terms of the quality of teams played. Each round the quality of the opposition has been a step-up. Slovakia, Switzerland, then Netherlands and next up, Spain.
    Each time England have had an immense struggle. And each time they’ve found a way to win. With each game, England’s performances have improved. Every chance they will do the same again, this time against Spain. England to win the final, but after a titanic struggle.

    can england beat spain? maybe if southgate has the fricking balls to bench harry kane.. then we might have a chance.. otherwise we have no hope of scoring.. because we need runners at their backline not harry kane who will drop deep and spain will just dominate possession and tear us apart at the back... every game harry kane has done and offered nothing, soon as tony or watkins had a chance we scored because they look to go past their man, not walk back towards our own half
