Every game has these fake ads nowadays, get over yourselves. Evertale is a pretty good game with an amazing soundtrack, btw.
But the Ad is SO FUKING GOOD!!! AND Compare the game and the Ad. The AD is superior

shure: guy meats up with several elitewarriors who du simple jobs until they find out that everything is an eternal cycle that is nearly to be end soon. they found a scientist from the last cycle. that scientist is nearly finished her research how to break that cycle. after we helped her to finished it, we realize that we are driven to the final end of that cycle by defeat the big boss in a crystal tower that will appear short before the end of that cylce in an icy region. so we fight us through that bosspalace and defeat the final boss only to find out that the cycle is created by some kind of alien entety who is "evolving" through that selecting returning cycle the humanity on the world.
we cant scratch that entity but with mumbo jumbo and anime moment and power over 9000 and the power of all the former heroes from the past we manage to kill that creating god and the hero is falling into a deep sleep. basically the offlinestory in a nutshell.^^

The basic characters were far better than the gacha waifu factory.... Honestly, if they'd been more honest and left the waifu's out, and didn't do nothing-but-false advertising... I'd of continued playing.

Rizette could be disturbingly OP, I was kind of surprised. Ludmilla I expected, but it was still pleasant. 👍
I honestly wish the gacha thing would die along with microtransactions. 🙄 I always love gaming companies fretting why people prefer their older consoles. Gee. No microtransactions, no extra money, the game is there and ready to play. 🤷♀️ I don't know WHY older consoles are still best. 🙄

Who is the original artist?
I honestly thought when I first downloaded EverTale, it would get progressively darker. Played for about an hour. Nothing. Watched CZcams gameplay still nothing. It was so disappointing. I love this fucked up horror stuff, this game could've been so good.

@@grandpalarryreadmyaboutpag7045 it’s coming out on the switch supposedly soon, highly recommend the game, it’s an unforgettable experience and if you like games like earthbound/undertale with some major dark horror elements omori is perfect for that. One of my favorite games ever made.

I also emailed their support about these ads and tweeted them on Twitter. 2 weeks and nothing. This is how they treat a curious outsider, I can't imagine how they deal with an actual support issue.

The ads aren't even like the actual game
There isn't a hint of horror in the game
The "online story" telling is indeed horrific..ly bad
The game is odd with the horror ads. I do know some people have found some of the assets used in some of the ads, like the store ads with the injured or no longer living girl on the floor. I believe in terms of the recent ad, with the girl looking at the monster, apparently that may come from a game called Walk, where you're a small Japanese girl being chased by a monster.

I was one of the og players of Evertale, the updates starting from version 2.0 is quite disappointing, the game mechanics got better but the characters are devolving, they LITERALLY change all the female characters designs into lewd and full of fanservices, they even change one of the character design into a whole new character (the character is Luna), the game had lost it's great aspects on strong and cool female characters, fortunately I could still see the old designs on the version 1.0 wikia

I’m not familiar with the games past but it does not surprise me it’s changed drastically, they make more money off of it this way. The game is catered to money not the true fans looking for a fun to play mobile game.

Update: I thank you all for your patience, I never expected to gain the following I have off of my first video. I’ve obviously been extremely busy but do have a video that should be up within a month. I have been put into a position to run a operation oversees so once again I’m sure there will be a lack of time for videos. My line of work is something that is very time consuming and leads me to different parts of the world, to do some extremely stressful jobs to say the least. When I saw this ad I instantly had to look up gameplay just to see how good this game this and I obviously knew that it was gonna be a major disappointment.
the worst thing about these misleading ads is that the game itself is, in my opinion, pretty good for a mobile game.. I love the story they got on, at least the "main story" and the gameplay is good, not absolutely f*cking amazing, but as I said, for a mobile game, its nice, decent, entertaining.. and the waifu thing wasn't as bad a few months ago, though it's been increasing now, like, damn all new content on side stories and chars have been very.. fan servicy... but other than that the game was actually enjoyable, still is.. if you dont mind gatcha games ofc, but.. thats 90% of all mobile games so.. yeah.. sad they have to advertise such things instead of their actual stories for example.. like: advertise it honestly and put a team to develop the now "fake ad" to become a real game! win-win for everyone!

Well due to loss in popularity and paring that with a price tag. The game started loosing its popularity, in order to squeeze the last remaining profit from the game they decided to deceive people so they would make a last effort money grab.

The lore of the fake evertale scary ads would be so amazing. Its a concept that brings a harsh reality of the monsters of these kinda games. Like what would happen if these monsters dont follow you and decide to bite back.

i mean you can play lisa the painful and its other 3 fan games on your phone, which arent really creepy but they do have some disturbing stuff in them and some creepy stuff. you do need an android though.

A lot of people are asking why they don't just make the game depicted by the ads, but the reason is simple. That would take too much effort. Good horror is hard to write, but they can still make money if people who see those ads stick with the game despite not being what was advertised, so why bother making an actual game?

I've been a Pokemon fan since leaf green, so when I saw an ad for a game with the same style and graphics with a horror element to it I full on ran to the app store and bought it without questioning anything. -_-

I feel like it’s probably rather hard to do so, the eastern developers of most titles like these are pretty sketchy and finding out who the exact publisher is, I would assume could be pretty difficult.,

I played Evertale because it was on sale and was free so I installed it, I had never seen any of the ads but now that I have I really wish Evertale would be just like in the ads

@@heehee474 as someone who works a high stress job, paired with chronic insomnia I’m always awake to respond. Truthfully speaking when it comes to these ads it’s extremely disappointing that this doesn’t actually exist in game. They give me a sense of nostalgia, of a vintage community, I say vintage but really it was only a few years ago. Creepy pasta was booming, and the vibes of the horror community where especially entertaining it felt like there was so much refreshing content.

I like this premise and they could’ve done something with the idea, like imagine Pokémon but you couldn’t catch them so you’re forced to try and survive amongst these ultra powerful beings with nothing

I remember finding out about evertale because at 3am I was tripping on benadryl (I don’t do it anymore) and I saw the ad. I thought I was hallucinating but I saw the same ad a few days later

These ads are back these days here in April 2022. I decided to do my research by searching it up on CZcams just to find out what was depicted was a lie just by looking at the thumbnail and title of your video and another just now.

I can not express how truly thankful I am to have had such a audience on my channel. I created this as a way to express myself and step out of the real world for small moments. I know I don’t upload frequently but being able to get this many views and subs off of the 2 videos I have created is amazing and way more than I expected. The comments are tame and sweet, everyone has been respectful and helpful. I thank all of you, new video soon. I work a lot and finding interesting topics can sometimes be challenging. Dude thanks for putting out this video. I thought I had to climb different levels in order to get to the horror parts. To know they’ve baited me makes me think a lot differently about the company.

The ads started popping up again and they just straight up retextured some omori areas
I got so mad when I saw that. I thought the eye shaped ghost was a coincidence - after all, it's not that original an idea - but after seeing their white space I'm inclined to think that they stole that too.
I remember playing this game before I saw the ads and being disappointed.
Then I saw one of the “horror ads” and my man, I’ve never looked up something faster.

I immediately looked up this game after I finally clicked on their ads and saw the exact one you displayed in your intro I had to find out if anyone else noticed their visuals has a subtle similarity to LISA the First RPG. When the character in the room walks out and walks up to a lake I thought it looked exactly like a scene I saw in that game. I think besides them scamming people I wouldn’t put it past them to straight up copy another horror game’s set up and cutscenes just for their lack of creativity...
The sad thing is, the idea of a pokemon-style horror game is a cool idea.
I really want to make some aesthetic concept photos inspired by the collage/realistic looking ads if I ever get interested in video editing and graphics design!
The game would’ve been like doki doki, cute on the outside but when you go deeper, it reveals something you don’t wanna know.

I was getting these ads and while I'm usually too much of a wimp for horror games, I do love watching playthroughs of them. Very disappointed it isn't an actual thing. The ads made it look like a darker, more fleshed out version of Monster Crown, which has similar themes and a very similar pixel art style. Monster Crown has its issues but, at the end of the day, it is a game that actually exists.
Food for thought,
If the youtube ad algorithm is anything like other social media platforms, view time is an important factor for recommending the video/post/advert to a bigger audience pool. People watching through the entirety of an ad, instead of skipping it, will give valuable data to youtube on who to reccomend the ad to next based off of their watch history compared to the pool that watched the ad. Hope that makes sense.
They also nailed the "uncanny valley" the mix between comfort(nostalgia) and terror, like a children's song in a dark room, or a balloon in a street gutter ;). Pokemon and literal monsters works in the uncanny valley for sure.
Anyways, most people can't pry their eyes away from something that is in the uncanny Valley, like a deer in headlights, unsure if the lights are comforting or dangerous.
So I'd say the ad alone is very successful as an advertisement.
Watch time increases due to abusing the uncanny valley, youtube gathers info that people are watching fully through the ad, and sends the ad to a bigger pool of people with similar watching habits and preferences.
Still a strange tactic from them, since you said the game is on a decline, AFTER the advertisement. So strange still yet from a company standpoint, so I am hopeful you do get some answers :3

I think the most meta thing that’s ever happened to me was the ad for this game playing while looking for a video about this game.

Advertisement agencies rule your perception, it looks like the agencies have advertising agents using their game ads as a guise for some thematic vision of talented advertisers being like league of legends animations. Someone there has a gift.

The confusion is the point. It gets people’s attention, gets people to talk about it & make videos about it.
I came to the perfect video. I was so curious about these ads, I knew they weren’t what actual players of Evertale perceived it to be, since I’ve seen the original ads for the RPG way back. The ads created so much potential for an actual game people would be interested in. Though, I must admit it’s a wonderful marketing tactic. Love your videos by the way, amazing work.

If you want to see horror like the ads, just play Omori instead. Some of the shots feel like a legit rip from the game's style. Plus it's coming to Switch too!
