Have to admit this. This song actually changed my life. I was in a bad way, situation. Heard the song, lyrics etc...my eyes, mind opened. Glad they did
@@simonwilliams3564 I’ve been on a huge kick with this song lately. It’s just so damn beautiful…sad…haunting like the other commentator said. That’s awesome to hear it had a whole different kind of impact on you. Power of music 🤘🏻
I was once troubled in life in a bad way! As a great fan of Queensryche this song saved me from death at my own hand! The greatest thing of this band is knowing life! Thank you Queensryche since this song you saved a life birthed a child and a grandchild in my life!
This song is so deep! It's amazing and a true masterpiece. Geoff's voice gives you chills. Thank you for years of amazing music. I'm a Queensryche fan for life. I hope and pray for a reunion. Maybe a tour????
Angelic voice! Magical piano! Lyrics beyond this world! Whenever I need guidance or motivation, this song gives me the boost i'm looking for, to keep on fighting in this absolut battle, called : LIFE...
Queensryche played this as last song on the Promised Land tour in 95. It was amazing and a perfect end to the concert. Ive seen them a couple of times after that over the years but they never came close to that tour and they never will. It was perfect.
I seen Queensryche twice. They have there own sound. That`s what make`s a Band great.Don`t believe there ever will have a cover band, that will do Queensryche.
The original Ryche still crushes everything. The only other band that can compete with the OG Ryche in songwriting is a post-punk experimental rock band called This Heat. The bands wrote the most mind-expanding thought-provoking musical lyrics.
Even if many Queensrÿche songs are masterpieces, for me Silent lucidity remains the best.. with this one. When you find something so close to your inner feelings and that tells so much of your own life you can only get astonished
I've seen Queensryche 7 or 8 time live and they always deliver a kick ass show. Ive never seen another band who sounds like the album live like they do they are always perfect.I've seen over 300 shows from Hank Jr to Slayer but these guys can't be topped for live sound, Well maybe Pink Floyd sounds just as good.
When I was like 18 I had a buddy that was like 30 and struggling with meth and alcohol and he turned me onto this band and I love them so much. I'm 35 now and have a family and lost touch with my friend years ago but I still listen to their songs and it brings me back to the old days and I hope he made something of his self
Ive been going through the toughest time of my life recently. I can’t find anybody who cares enough to give me a shoulder to lean on. Listening to Geoff’s music is the only thing i still find joy in doing. Im lucky I found this song when I did, its giving me something to enjoy in the roughest time of my life. I feel so alone every day, but I have this music here to help me. Thank you Geoff for keeping me sane! Keeping my faith in God that times will change and Ill be happy again someday, hopefully soon
I hope you are doing better than you were 5 months ago. Music has a way of getting us through the hard times and this song reaches our souls. I'm sorry you feel alone. If I were around, you could surely cry on my shoulder. What has gotten me through the hardest times in my life are music and animals. If you have pets, that is wonderful. If not, and you are able to get a couple, they are so amazing and show unconditional love. I would even suggest volunteering at a reputable animal rescue/ adoption center. It is very fulfilling to take care of and socialize animals in need. It fills that hole in your heart. Volunteering to help people is also great therapy, but can be very different from helping animals. I truly hope that you can find something and/or someone to fill that void in your soul if you haven't yet. Keep fighting. People do care. ❤
This song reminds me of my dad who passed by when I was 16. Both of my parents had to survive world war II in occupied Europe, each in their own way. My mother used to live in a family with 7 kids, mother was widow during the war. A matter of begging and stealing to survive. My parents were 50 and 42 at the day of my birth in 1971, dad had a trauma of WWII, he hardly spoke. Saw him dying unconscient after an operation which his heart could not support no more after a few attacks. He went visiting my mother in the hospital on Christmas day, got a problem and had to stay, passed by the 30th of December. The silent man with the scars and so much unspoken suggestions. It's like he's still there in your mind, and sometimes you conversate with him, and you dream the answers that he would give. That's the other song: I sit here on the brook of a broken tree, by my side a distinguished man, who's giving me encouragment, telling me I can This part is like a narrative about my dad When I fell from grace I never realized how deep the flood was around me. A man whose life was toil was like a kettle left to boil, and the water left scars on me.
The dynamically organic musical chemistry of Queensrÿche’s original lineup will NEVER be surpassed by any other configuration of musicians. The süm is greater than the collection of it’s parts.
The first version I ever heard of this song was the full band version. I instantly connected with it but this version is so much better. The stripped-down sound of just the voice and piano is hauntingly beautiful.
I love the piano on this song. One of the most beautiful ballads I have heard. "All my life they said I was going down, but I'm still standing, stronger, proud. And today I know there's so much more I can be I think I finally understand"
This AWESOME great beautiful song just takes u AWAY. Incredible MUSIC playing by Chris. The metal voice Geoff. Just flawless. I could listen to this song all day all night.
Chris B ...God bless you brother......I have been hearing this in the back of my mind now for about a week...It is def a spiritual sign....I come from a savage drug addiction of Heroin & Crystal Meth...I just decide to look this up today with the lyrics and I started to cry and give thanks to the creator or my God. Because without him I would not of made my change for the light!!! Geoff Tate I am so grateful for you and your new band Operation Mindcrime...As well as Queensryche for Todd La Torre....both great bands still with different lead singers. I pray for all those who are caught in Addiction to be strong and to know there is NOTHING there but lies and deception...You know that already so except God and come back to a real way of life....I have CRAWLED from hell....Only to RUN to heaven...Dios Te Bendiga...
This song is simply perfection. It reaches into your soul. I have loved Queensryche (original lineup) since the late 80's. So many killer songs from a great band but for some reason this one goes deep in my soul

One of the most underrated albums in the history of metal imho. Perhaps because it wasn't "pure" metal.
A true masterpiece.

I thought the same way , but low and behold there is another Geoff Tate . The new queensryghe singer . But I'm always loyal to Geoff .

Epic song. Has meant a lot for me in times of trouble. And times of big and needed transformation.
The only band that could record the sound-track to the Bible... Chew-on that for a while...
Queensryche played this as last song on the Promised Land tour in 95. It was amazing and a perfect end to the concert. Ive seen them a couple of times after that over the years but they never came close to that tour and they never will. It was perfect.

This album was OK. But certainly not in the class of the Warning or Operation Mindcrime.

Gran tema y hermoso piano acompañando a grandiosa voz. Saludos desde España.
When I fell from grace
I never realized
how deep the flood was around me.
A man whose life was toil
was like a kettle left to boil,
and the water left scars on me.
I know now who I am.
If only for a while,
I recognize the changes.
I feel like I did before the
magic wore thin and the "baptism
of stains" began.
They used to say I was
nowhere, man,
heading down
was my destiny.
But yesterday, I swear,
that was someone else not me.
Here I stand at the crossroads edge,
afraid to reach out for eternity,
One step, when I look down,
I see someone else not me.
Looking back and I see
someone else.
All my life they said I
was going down,
but I'm still standing,
stronger, proud.
And today I know there's
so much more I can be.
From where I stand at the crossroads edge,
there's a path leading out to sea.
And from somewhere
deep in my mind,
sirens sing out loud
songs of doubt
as only they know how.
But one glance back reminds, and I see,
someone else not me.
I keep looking back
at someone else... me?
My God!! Thank you, beautiful music, lyrics, everything's perfect. What a voice from Mr. Geoff Tate. I think I'll go cry...
Awesome song 😎
Even the high notes sound appropriatelly smooth
Stunned...
