I use my Ally as a desktop 90% of the time, love it's adaptability.
I love my rog ally and you didn't even mention emulation this thing is an emulation beast playing ps2, ps3, og xbox, xbox 360, nds, switch and etc. on the rog ally
It's a great piece of technology indeed ! 😄
I didn't talk about emulation as I personally don't have any experience with it and I don't have any idea how to do it. Just didn't want to talk about something I have no knowledge about 😅
But yeah from what I've seen and heard it's a emulation beast ! 😄
@@SebastianDylag thank you for that.
@@yaboifasho How do you emulate on the ally?
Thank you for the great review. Random question, I heard the battery life when gaming isn't the greatest but whats the battery life like when doing general things like watching youtube, listening to spotify, streaming movies etc?
Can you tell whats that custom 18w profile?? I’m about to get it, it’ll deliver tomorrow so i will be prepared 😅
In Armoury Crate at the performance mode settings you can set any custom TDP profile you want
1 of the first games I finished on my Ally was [Prototype 2]. Very unoptimized esp in Win 11, but since the screen has VRR it significantly helped with the overall experience. It did not stutter, only occasional drops to 20 fps, but nothing deal-breaking that will make me stop enjoying the game. WHAT A DEVICE! Best purchase decision! 👌🏽👌🏽
It's definitely an amazing device to play older games and catch up on some gems 🫣
Good console overall. One thing that its a small let down is the buttons. They feel a bit loose. Also windows needs to be optimized for handhelds.
I've been using Bazzite OS, It's like using a steam deck now. No more windows
Im waiting for ally 2 whenever that comes
Supposedly in 2024 😄
@@SebastianDylag supposedly my guess is after the sale they're having they'll announce it a couple months after they clear as much stock as possible
I'm getting one soon 😊
What will be the first game You're going to play on it ? Have fun! 😄
I have had mines for one week, very impressed. I have been running Fortnite, hollow knight and sea of stars, they all run well and look amazing
Great device indeed 😄 love it for playing games from my backlog 😄
Add Emudeck makes it even better once you get all the emulation on it as well.i got mine setup were I can emulate almost every console even 360,original Xbox,ps1,ps2,GameCube,Wii,wii u,genesis,Saturn,Dreamcast, all Nintendos consoles.all running threw emulation station.takes some setting up but once you do man…..it’s incredible Forreal.i love mine
Legion Go or ALLY will be my choice here pretty soon. Just can't decide lol
In my case the Ally was more fitting for my use case scenario. But it's also cheaper in Poland/Europe.
I would say it's up to the way You plan to use it. Legion Go has bigger screen which is a big benefit, but the Ally is more portable and really feels like a "switch pro" 😄
Tried No rest for the Wicked today on my ally and have to say I'm disappointed. Games like that should be a piece of cake to run on a handheld. Love my ally though.
Yeah it's the games devs fault
I too said many times I have played with oled switch and oled deck.. I don’t see much difference with ROG Ally screen.. just increase saturation to 125 in amd settings. U will thank me later
+1 !
I always use this setting on my PCs .
I tried steam deck and ASUS rig ally for almost a year just sold the steam deck and got a legion go honestly I play more on my ASUS ally probably I’ll sell the legion go, vrr it’s a big deal and ASUS did nail it with it
Bro didn't have to pick the most soulful bgm 😭😭
Doom eternal on ally is divine
Never tried it.... Might have to change that ! 😄
I absolutely love my Rog Ally. Way better than the Steam Deck for playing anything you want. Battery life needs to be better but just plug it in for long sessions. It's meant for travel.
Same love it! Lying in the hotel room bed late night and getting some gaming time in before traveling back from business trip! 30w all the time :-)
Rog ally is more on PC handheld compared to steam deck whicj more like a console.
You're money you're choice.
Exactly, it's more like a small handheld PC and steam deck is more like a console. All depends on what You expect from it 😄
How's your micro sd card, is it fried?
Don't use it 🤔 and don't really see any reason to use it 😅 other than maybe if I needed to transfer some files
Mines fried within a week. I actually used it for my retro programs and roms. I had to send it back ever since I got it back it’s been good .
Verbal refresh rate 😂
Did I really say it like that ? 😅😂
As steam deck lcd owner i really need rog ally lol..
i replaced my lcd steam deck for the ally and i love it
I just got mine and Lego starwars Skywalker Saga is lagging BAD.
I’m talking 3,2 fps bad.
Not quite sure why yet.
Im not a computer person at all but I've had my rog ally for about a week in a half, and the first game i bought was mw3 it sucks cause i don't know what to do to make it better. And the second game was Hogwarts legacy and its great it actually dose better on battery than when im playing mw3 that cuts threw the battery quickly. Im loving this handheld PC. I just don't know what I'm doing when it comes to settings to make games run good without glitches
At first I also didn't really have great experience with Mw3/warzone on it. But now I've been playing warzone with pretty stable framerates and really enjoying it when I'm away from my home setup (PS5 + LG C3)
"Full HD". Just give the resolution.
Full HD = 1080p 😉
Did you not know full hd meant 1080p?
Full HD means 1080 🤦🏻♂️
@@UmbraProductionsPR exactly my point to the other dude haha

Using steam as my front end. Just a little work. 1. Add all of other launcher games into steam with steamgriddb artworks and enable big picture mode on start up. 2. Increase saturation to 125 in amd settings. 3. Set all power button options to hibernate .. it’s a console now..
