Finally, two Western vloggers who decided not to jump on the bandwagon of featuring scary-looking Filipino food just to get people to click on their memes! That's refreshing! For example, the sight of Western vloggers cringing at eating balut is so passe and has worn thin on many Filipino subscribers through the years. You two showing we Filipinos (and the world) that there are actually good quality vegan restos in the Philippines is a blessing! Our feelings? Relieved and enlightened! Maraming salamat!

Although I'm not vegan myself, I do appreciate the benefits of being vegan - to each his own, right? Sisig is can be partnered with rice but it's more like a beer food for me. Traditionaly Sisig is supposed to be sizzling hot and with poach egg on top. The gravy of the chickeny deep fried mushrooms is that of liver sauce. Adobo is said to be the National dish of the Philippines and it has lots of variations. It can be chicken, pork, tofu, vegetables etc. It's an authentic Filipino dish it's just that the Spaniards called it adobo because it's similar to their dish. The difference tho is that it has soysauce innit. I suggest that you try Sinigang because it was voted as the best soup dish in the world.

It's actually a misconception that Filipinos don't have Vegan food, most Foreigners do not explore our cuisine and just basically judge it because of our famous lumpia, adobo and lechon.. It hurts to see them calling Filipino food as disgusting where in fact we have a lot of vegan food selection. My favourites are ginataang gabi with chili, ginataang langka, pinangat, adobong kangkong or green beans, ginataang kalabasa with malungay leaves, mongo beans, lumpiang toge.. The Tofu sisig is one of my faves too,, not too far from the original taste of pork sisig..

That adobo meat is soya base textured vegetable protein (TVP) which can be bought by kilograms in health food shops. And yes, adobo should always go with rice.

i'm glad that vegans enjoy their food here in the philippines 😊 you're right when you think of philippines it's all about pork and meat 🤣but to remind you we are an agriculture country so most of our dishes will always have veggies and rice 😅 it's only that most of the vloggers love meat... we have many variety of vegetable dishes that won't disappoint even vegetable lovers 😉
