It means that you ate fishball basically just a flour batter the last time in the Philippines, because kwek-kwek normally with boiled quail egg battered with orange coating for visual and brown sweet sauce.
There's a confusion. Kwek kwek was originally fried old balut (duck egg with a chick) dipped in batter. It's a poor man's snack. The concept was adopted in bars and restaurants but using boiled quail eggs, which is a bit more palatable to many. But the name stuck. An indirect proof: which bird gives a sound close to "kwek-kwek" while still alive?
Kurt, I placed an order after watching your video…lol! Janis is my friend and I always enjoy her food. These are other Filipino food places you should try BFF Turon in West Jordan, MMK in Provo, Mama’s Kitchen in Roy, DaKine Grindz in Sunset and Pinky’s Food Hauz in Ogden. Come to the Filipino Festival on June 15th at the International Peace Garden and have fun with us.
Thank bro on loving our culture The Filipino Life Style. The Filipino way is God, Family Neighbors and Friends. This is the main reason why millions of Filipinos sacrifice working away in every corner on earth in order to provide the most basic necessities for their love ones. Enjoy your stay in my homeland. Watching from The USA.

Thank you sir Kurt, there’s a lot of Pilipinos here in Australia , I am from Adelaide and still few Pilipino restaurants but plenty of Asian Stores so we’re very lucky, thank you for loving and showing Pinoy food tho I haven’t tasted kwik kwik 😊
Hi sir Kurt,I’m from Canada, first time to watch your video and subscribed too. Maraming salamat in patronizing Filipino foods, malaking tulong yun sa mga Pinoy dyan sa Utah!
Just found you on my CZcams page, and when I spotted the words “Filipino” and “Tagalog,” I had to watch ~ of course, because I’m Filipino residing in the US and I wanted to let you know that I appreciate your channel. I hope that the couple of Filipino restos that you mentioned you might try are open so you can feature them here soon. Maraming salamat. 🙏🏽 BTW, your Tagalog is pretty good 😊
Your reactions and reviews of what you just ate was epic. Nakakataba ng puso how you elevate Filipino food to the next level. If I were Janis' owner, I'd be tickled pink and honored. Maraming salamat Kurt
It's really expensive in USA, Filipino foods are imported. That's 3k plus pesos which in Philippines, it would be a meal for about 5 to 10 people or more already for budget meals but supporting Filipino restaurants in USA is a huge ❤ for our Filipino friends 🥰 God bless you 🙏
Your review made me hungry. I'm really glad you searched for Filipino restos in your hometown and featured here, hoping many of your kababayans/fellow Americans would try too.
Kwek kwek is quail egg dipped in batter(annatto powder for the orange color) then deep fried. If a whole chicken egg is used then it is called TOKNENENG.
Thank you po Kuya Kurt sa pag-iintroduce ng Filipino culture and food sa inyong bansa. Isa ka po sa iilan lamang na vloggers na sinusubaybayan ko lagi.
Just saw your channel and my mouth is watering. Im a filipina living here in the UK and its sad coz we don't have Filipino resto here. Thanks for loving our food and culture. Eating with your hands, so legit.
Man, you are making me so hungry just watching you eat delicious Filipino food. I might just decide to have pinoy food for dinner tonight (in Bay Area). Salamat, kuya!
Same here in Cincinnati. There’s not too many Filipinos here. The only time I got to see them was during the Asian Food Festival but on the daily basis Filipino sightings is a rarity here. Also, if I will have a chance to travel to your state I hope you don’t mind if I pay you a visit and eat at Filipino restaurant together you and I.
Great watching you eat with your hands/fingers... that is the correct way to you enjoy Filipino food! Hope to see you in Manila eat in the popular "kamayan" restaurants.
I'm tripping out already! Your accent is on point, I don't mind about the ASMR tbh and has anyone ever told you have a voice similar to Jason Priestley? Appreciate the video that all looks really good! This is coming from a filipino hailing from Canada. Great work!
I was hoping you’d try the gulaman drink. The first time my non-Filipino friend tried it, she kept going back for more. We’re going back to Vegas next week and we’re definitely going to an AYCE Filipino buffet, making sure they have gulaman drink.
